Really helpful video, thanks. I was trying to setup my Virpil CM3 throttle with the Q4XP (again has 2 detents, I've got the 2 bump detents installed on the CM3). Following this video I've got the detents setup for the DISC and Rating positions as you did, thanks :) And "Flaps lever" for the prop lever, nice.
15:50 - if anyone is looking to have fake detents so the prop lever cleanly snaps to them, here's my response curve for it: Reverse Axis: On Interp Mode: Linear [0.00, 0.00] [0.16, 0.00] [0.16, 0.33] [0.50, 0.33] [0.50, 0.67] [0.83, 0.67] [0.83, 1.00] [1.00, 1.00] This should make it way easier to select the detent you want.
very good explanation. I have built my own throttle levers with detents, however I ran into an issue trying to setup the response curve, as the beta range was fixed to 0.33, and for the correct operation for Q4XP it need to be about 0.29. I found solution by unchecking the "beta/reverse" checkbox and then adjusting the thresholds, now it works fine. I have embedded a switch into the handle for gate toggle and it works fine.
Trying to configure the throttle on the TCA Sidestick (not the quadrant) and the response curve is THE most unintuitive UI I have ever used, I can not figure it out...
Thanks for watching! I have one throttle smooth and one with detents. I do this so I can feel them if I need them, but they don't get in the way of controlling the power! If I was only flying the Q400 I would probably remove them as you don't need them much (just set full forward to 'normal rating' detent).
Thank you very much for this video. It worked great for me. It works perfectly too. However, FlyJSim should assign more joysticks for buttons. For example, I cannot assign josytic for speedbrake.
Hello, I have the older version of the FlyJSim the Dash8 Q400 Legacy. I dont know for that q400 but I would like to know if it is the same version as mine but updated or if I want that version, I'l need to buy it?
I have had a very negative experience with the TCA hardware and software. They are NOT good or up to to the standards of previous quality of metal Thrustmaster controllers. Plastic doesn't work. I bought them based on your videos and was very disappointed.
They're not awful, but yeah, the plastic quality is about as bad as it gets. I broke a reverser detent on my quadrant using barely any force after a few months (which I remarkably repaired using tons of hot glue). If I had to do it again, I would definitely go for a Bravo instead.

Thanks for this - made my setup so much easier and your explanations are very useful too.
Finally... been waiting for this.

Thank you so much for your tutorial with super instruction 👏
You’re welcome 😊
Would have been helpful to have an inset of you moving the quadrant while the main screen showed the sim controls moving.
can you please show me how you set the landing gear? mine has the option of landing gear up, down and toggle, it should be hold landing gear up

Very helpful video - thanks; could I ask if you have set up the throttles with or without detents (ie smooth axes)

how does it works with the single gate pass, cant find it

Done over 300 hours with mine and still working great!
No issues here, they work great.
