    Nice review.
    I run both Norma and Belom. Bought 960 Belom and 1k Norma this week.
    I got the Belom from Target Sports USA for $10/20 with a discount and free shipping for buying full cases. That's hard to beat.
    I run these in a Ruger Ranch rifle, a CZ527, several AKs and a couple of short and 16" ARs. Good stuff.
    I think I paid $60 more for the Norma (with 40 more rounds), but don't remember where I ordered it. Rivertown Munitions in Pennsylvania comes to mind. Both great groups to purchase from.
    Keep up the good work!

    I have now shot approximately 4k rds of Belom through various SKSs and AKs. No ftf or other issues. Very good ammo. The boxes are a bit of a pain to open. But they are tightly sealed and are water proof. Not very dirty powder or primers. Sealed primers with a red sealer. Necks are not sealed but are annealed. Many brass 7.62x39 ammo isn't annealed at the neck.
    I would say Brass ammo works best in SKS, AR style and bolt action rifles. In my molot Vepr rifle brass cased ammo gets dented when feeding because of the aggressiveness of the action. In Romanian AKs it fed fine but brass cased leaves behind slivers of brass from the aggressive extractor. Makes cleaning a pita.

    PWS 11" pistol/rifle/sbr (FTATF)
    Same groups. All the Barnaul (fmj,sp,hp)
    gives similar performance.
    I am using a relatively inexpensive Leupold green fire dot 1.5-4 patrol.
    It is a 1" tube and only weighs 9oz.
    PWS makes the best 762×39 platform
    to date. .125 port adjustable long stroke gas piston. .136 depth bolt face and extractor( Alexander Arms Grendel bolt;
    which was actually copied from 90s Colt 762×39 bolt) Duramags ( I heard ASC is " just as good", but why chance it?)
    Seems like some of the newer production ×39 is really good.
    It is harder to get this kind of accuracy out of my 16" .556 AR15. Not to mention the price of "match" .556

    Great video 👍
    I bought 500 Rds of this stuff about a year ago and it shoots really bad groups out of my AR in 7.62x39 and not so great groups out of my C39v2 AK. I know it's not the guns as they both shoot MOA groups using steel case Wolf polyformance at 50yds.
    I just got the Ruger ranch and based on your results I'm very anxious to get to the range and try it out.
    Other videos I've watched using belom tactical claim the belom tactical bullet is slightly smaller in diameter. Looks like the Ruger barrel might be the perfect match for it .

    • @travisp11
      @travisp11  Год назад +1

      My Ruger Ranch does show the ammo is likes and does not like. I've used the same optic for a few years now so it is pretty easy to see from my range tests what runs well through it. The Norma 7.62 ammo that I tested runs good but it is really hard to be the Tula for range time. Generally sub MOA or 1" MOA at 100 yards in all weather.

    • @411DL
      @411DL Год назад +1

      I have a few 7.62 ARs. My Sanders and KAK barrels both can achieve just a touch over 1MOA with this ammo. Also have a Radical barrel I've yet to try (possibly tomorrow?). The ammo I have the hardest time holding a decent group with is Norma. Ruger American Ranch holds best but still mediocre in anything else I run it in.

      @411DL Год назад

      @@travisp11 And so I did make it up into the hills and my trusted Belom would not chamber in that Radical barrel. Neither would Sellier and Bellot. First it had feed issues but once I got it to partially chamber I had to mortar it out. Didn't bring any other brass as I wasn't anticipating anything like this happening. Put about 8 rounds of Barnaul through just fine. Only reason I had Barnaul was to cycle test my PTR32. So, no. I do not think these bullets are skinny. Even with a dial caliper I can't tell the difference between Belom and Barnaul. Definitely have to talk to my gunsmith now.

    • @almaadams3631
      @almaadams3631 Год назад

      The Belom bullet jacket is copper as opposed to bi metal( soft steel) with a copper wash( electro coated).
      I believe the copper jackets engage rifling to aggressively and end up over stabilizing the bullet.
      Any concentric inconsistencies become exaggerated with a 1in10 twist 16"barrel.
      I have noticed over the years: 11" VZ58s and my go to, the 11" PWS piston upper,
      are usually more accurate than their 16"
      barreled equivalent.
      The 154grn soft point are often more accurate in the 16" barrels.
      The Colt 762×39 uppers ( early 90s)
      have a 1in12 twist and stabilize most bullet weight nicely.
