Hey Travis, Really enjoyed this video. It's a pleasure to listen and watch someone not looking to impress or pretend he knows it all, or say dumb stuff to to say something. just bought 120 rnds of the Igman 7.62x39 for 64.95. I will let you know how it goes in my ARAK 21 7.62X39 Barrel. Take care.
I have been picking up igman 308 148gr (ball m80) fmj to try out from a few different rifles..... Rural king has the 20 box's for 16.99 not a bad price good clean looking rounds.
I work at a Rural King and at one point, we put that igman on clearance for $10 a box. We even had a bunch of 168GR BTFMJ 308 for just $14. That's been the deal of the year for 308 for me.
I bought a case of Igman, 720 rds, for $370. 51 cents a round. I like it so far, with 120 rounds used I've had no issues or accuracy problems with my AK.
Great video. Interesting to see the performance on that ammo. And good to know it can be reloaded. With the ability to reload it almost makes the cost a wash.
Saw one of those at academy four or five years ago. It has been on my mind ever since LOL I have not seen one in stock since. I'm sure I could order one online. Thanks for the video!
If you would hold the forend of the rifle, your groups would be significantly improved. Learned that when shooting precision rifles in sniper school. It absolutely translates
If you learned this in sniper, it must have been a long time ago. They certainly don't teach that anymore. When shooting from a supported position (as he is), you should remove your direct contact from the front of the rifle, as it adds instability (due to the distance from the fulcrum of the pistol grip). Instead, it is best to use the off hand to modulate pressure on a rear bag under the buttstock to regulate elevation.
I built a Tabuk DMR Rifle that shoots MOA @ 100 yards... And Rings 6 in steel accurately Boring @ 200 yards with Norma tactical 7.62x39 ammo.. Tomorrow I'm gonna Run Some PMC Bronze 7.62 and Some Igman 7.62. And see what I get @ 100 and 200. Then move out to 250 and 300 yards on another day.. I Also have some Belom 7.62 brass case ammo to throw in the mix as well... Guess we will See How They Go Down.. "Long As We Shooting" Is What I Say... I'm still tuning an tweaking on the trigger .. got it down to under 3lbs.. Glass is russian posp 3-9x42 svd reticle an turrets.. I Shoot Off Of just a front Bag
Great video. really enjoy your stuff. can you please make a video with the 7.62x39 bear creek arsenal 7.5 pistol ? Just wondering how it’s holding up and if they’re worth buying?
Ive done a few videos with the x39 pistol on the channel in the past. Type in Bear Creer Arsenal Travisp11 in the search box and my videos should pop up. After I swapped out my firing pin for an enhanced pin the x39 upper has been very reliable. I just took it to the range two weeks ago and it ran like a champ.
travisp11 I also put the enhanced firing pin in mine as well but I keep having issues with the extractor breaking . Has your extractor from the factory been good?
@@Art-st1qv I haven't had any problems at all. Have you contacted Bear Creek about replacements? Im not sure if the extractor is the same one used on 5.56 bolt carrier groups but if they are and the Bear Creek parts keep breaking look into another company like PSA, Bravo Company or CMMG.
travisp11 Yes I’ve contacted them. The customer service is great and they keep sending out replacement’s but they only last about 100 rounds and then they break again. I’ll probably just swap out the whole BCG and keep the bear creek one as a spare. thanks for the advice.
I'm getting better groups than that with tulammo hp. Just got one of these rifles. And a cheap box of Tul hp. Tasco 3-9x40 scope sighted at 100 yards getting just over 1 inch
I get 1moa from my arsenal slr 107 w a trijicon mro ..1.5 moa from my wasr 10..I use wolf miltary classic and arsenal ammo...take it for what its worth
Wolf military classic is made by Barnaul, which is considered the most accurate Russian 7.62x39mm round. Vympel(Golden Tiger) a close second, and Arsenal is close to Vympel. I've gotten the best accuracy from these three.
Travis do you watch these videos ? Don't you see the rifle jumping around after each shot. I think if you used your left hand and put it on the pic rail just under the front of the scope the groups would be a lot better. The rifle is too lite up front, my opinion, put a little weight up top and push down I would love to see the difference. Thanks
There is a strap I can use to strap down the barrel but I had people telling me that it affects the accuracy. if you weigh down the front of the barrel with your hand it also causes the gun to move at rest. I generally just let the gun sit and it produces good groups.
I personally would have to give it a try. I can't believe how much the front jumps, but real good shooting though. I'm going to try this ammo in my Faxon ARAK RIFLE, I have about 300 rnds of it. I'll let you know. Take Care.
@@robertmoran4841 I may run a few rounds with my arm holding onto the stock and a few with it off to see if I notice a difference. The ammo is decent but I thought that the Norma shot better and was on sale for $7 a box from Norma direct. The ZVS stuff that I tested previously was pretty inconsistent.
@@dickeymoore3662 yup. Check out my earlier video on the ammo on my channel. I went over some of the basic info on this ammo. Other than being a 15 pack instead of 20 it is a good shooting ammo.

Boxer primed, reloadable, not bad

I'm watching this with a new headset and the wind in the background made my ears tingle lol
Yeah, it’s pretty much unavoidable here in Nebraska.

I try to let the sled bear the weight of the rifle but yeah, some extra stability up front might help.

You need to get the Nodak Spud iron sights for that baby!
Absolutely. I will be ordering a set soon.
I think I just found a new firearms channel to subscribe to. I like your Average Joe approach; I mean that in a good way.
Thank you and welcome to the channel! I don’t have a lot that goes into my video production but I have tested a bunch of firearms and ammo.
Seems to be ~1.5 MOA from my SKS.
Not going to complain about that.
Igman ammo is fine but Tula performs about the same and is cheaper.
Thanks for the test, very objective and informative. Is that about what one could expect out of a 16 inch barrel AK, like Arsenal or Zastava?
I think so. 1.5-2.5 MOA depending on the barrel and shooter
Just picked up 750 rounds of this stuff. Hoping it shoots as well out of my CZ527. $418 from SGAmmo.
It was pretty consistent and I was very happy with it. It shows great potential in the hands of an experienced shooter.
What no C308 video?!
My ak shoots 3 inch groups all day long with barnal.
Norma had some brass 762x39 free shipping steel city ammo co has some mesko
