assuming you're coating the lead to protect against the safety hazards of handling lead? In which case, some suggestions: A) you should absolutely be wearing gloves, probably a mask. B) you should avoid sanding lead at all costs. If it's absolutely necessary, it should be outdoors, with venting, wearing a mask and gloves, and somewhere the dust will be cleared away. (not near carpeting, or textures surfaces that will keep it around) C) lead has a melting point, and a higher temp where the lead will off-gas toxic fumes. It's important to not exceed the temps and avoid producing the fumes at all cost. (no benefit there anyway so it's just a good idea all around) Simple summary: lead is highly toxic, and absorbs into your skin upon touch. Breathing in dust or fumes puts the lead in your mouth/lungs, which are way more absorbent, therefore far more dangerous.
RUclipsFan hi sry didn't reply soon, the coating is very very tiny plastic , you can purchase these off ebay just search lead powder coatings or go here www.dbanglingsupplies.co.uk/carp-lead-coating-powder hope this helps
