Yet another amazingly memorable Paul Williams tune! The words "genius" and "legend" scarcely begin to describe him! And, yes, much like his movie from some years back, Mr. Williams is STILL ALIVE!
I remember watching it, but not the theme song. I did not that was Patty Duke Astin who played the mother. I just recognized Helen Hunt on Mad About You. I did not find out her name until she was on Mad About you. I knew a guy who said he like her. This was on while I was in High School while Helen Hunt was, but later she plays someone older even married to a man who was on My Two Dads. He a father of a 12-year-old her who later played on Ste by Step.
I actually remember this show and remember that the theme song was more interesting than the show itself. And ABC shows did have great opening credits: Charlie's Angels,The Six Million Dollar Man,The Bionic Woman, Wonder Woman,Welcome Back Kotter,Happy Days,Mork & Mindy,Laverne & Shirley,Angie,Out of the Blue,Three's Company,Benson,The Partridge Family,The Brady Bunch,Love American Style,The Odd Couple,Room 222,Taxi,Too Close for Comfort,The Fall Guy...
You can always tell when ABC had done the opening credits. They were so bland and nothing to it...you could watch the opening credits and never think to yourself..."Gee..this show looks funny or interesting..I should watch." No wonder so many of ABCs shows went down the sewer after 1 or 2 seasons.
"Where Love Spends the Night" Show me your future and I'll show you mine We saw love at first sight You found a home with a view in my arms That's where love spends the night Off to the Races and off to the moon Passionate love can be over so soon How many times have we lost it and then Hopelessly fallin' in love once again Show me your future, I'll show you mine That's where love spends the night
This song gives me goosebumps forever
Patty Duke looks gorgeous
If the show had been given another season (which it very well deserved), The Golden Girls might not have ever had that kitchen!
Can't believe that was Anthony Edwards.. Theme song could use a little pep..
Yes it does
I loved this show... it had a great cast and of course, everyone loved Patty Duke.

Wow! My first time hearing of this show! And the irony of Helen Hunt later being on a similar hit series “Mad About You” years later ❤

@@williamstebbins7294 now go watch the 1970s flick Rollercoaster. :P
Maybe they would have got another season if they had a peppier theme song.
I was gonna say, this nearly put me to sleep watching it just now.
That's a strange song to use for a comedy!
I remember this show. It was actually very funny especially with Billie Bird playing the mother. I had hoped it would have go longer than one season.
It might have changed history if so and we might not have enjoyed watching four old ladies enjoying cheesecake in that kitchen.
I remember Billie Bird being hilarious on this show.
Billie Bird was Susan Harris' model for Sophia Petrillo on 'Golden Girls'!
Two NBC stars I recognized: Helen Hunt of "Mad About You", and Anthony Edwards of "ER."
Patty Duke had great chemistry with Richard Crenna, playing a wife. She had the same with Barry Bostwick, in the "George Washington" mini-series.

I’ll pile on here: the show was actually pretty funny but the theme song sleep inducing!
The kitchen was re-used on the Golden Girls!
haha ummm ok ewww
@Berry Harbour
Richard McKenzie played Archie's brother on all in the family
I don't remember if they ever mentioned the twenty-year age-difference between Patty Duke and Richard Crenna on the show or not.
RIP Patty Duke, Richard Crenna and Billie Bird.
and richard mckenzie

Im here to see the Golden Girls Kitchen.
Accomplished.
Same
The theme song should've been twice as fact. Is that Don McClean, btw?
That put me to sleep
Maybe the worst theme song I've ever heard for a show that was actually pretty funny.
"Where Love Spends the Night"
Show me your future and I'll show you mine
We saw love at first sight
You found a home with a view in my arms That's where love spends the night
Off to the Races and off to the moon
Passionate love can be over so soon
How many times have we lost it and then
Hopelessly fallin' in love once again
Show me your future, I'll show you mine
That's where love spends the night
Is this on DVD?
unfortunetly not
Boring.
