hell yeah microcenter is an awesome store! I'm glad they r sponsoring videos like this ! \m/
I really like Lenovo's Legion laptops. Really nice and easy to use software as well.
Until the next power laptop he gets
this is about as peak pc performance in a laptop class as it can get....computer processing chips have hit Moore's law limit and pushing it further either will not have much of a gain or it will actually dip because the laws of thermodynamics...it's like reaching Max-Q of a space shuttle
@@kenhew4641silicium probably still can multiply performance a few times and once they finally ditch it for graphene or another material we'll still see further improvements. Sure one day we might reach a limit but it won't be this laptop...
@@kenhew4641on point
Probably gonna be a good long while till that happens. I’m personally not a fan of this laptop, but it’s about as powerful as it gets.
No because Legions are one of the best gaming laptops
What a beast! May be time for me to trade with my older Lenovo Legion. Thanks for the review.
Man.... your wallpaper game is unmatched. Where do you get your wallpapers? Especially the neon anime ones.
Lenovo cooking handheld and laptop 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Amazing specs, and an equally impressive $2,800 price tag.
Only 4300 USD in Europe.
If you ask me that’s steal, Alienware is asking 4K for those specs razer must be along the lines too
Bloody hell, this thing costs £3,200 (cheapest) in the UK!!
in Brazil it would cost 6k USD because of taxes
shame it's not OLED with that price
Congrats on 1 Million ETA PRIME! You earned them subs through all your years of grinding. Proud of you man
Long time watcher and it's hilarious I bought THIS EXACT laptop and got ut yesterday! I can say for sure its a f***ing beast! Such a big upgrade from my last laptop in terms of build, feel, and needless to say power! This things is more powerful than my desktop 3090!
love your videos
I've spent about a week looking at all 13900hx / 4090 laptops honestly the Lenovo is the most cost effective one overall. I even found a referb that was configured with 64gb ram and 8tb HD. I snagged that up for 3k out the door. That was a killer deal compared to origin, falcon-nw, asus or msi. That configure would have been 4-5k on specd laptop like that.
Did you purchase the referb on eBay?
Thanks for showing Elden Ring! That's the only game I have of the ones you show. It's really helpful for you to show it.
On to the important stuff. Where do i get that train live wallpaper. XD
Ive been alwaysbusing Lenovo computers I have over 8 years old Lenovo laptop and over 1 year old new Lenovo Legion pc, I am so hyped for Lenovo Legion Go handheld gaming pc and that Legion 7i pro looks powerful laptop but over 3000€ is over my budjet. That video was good. 🔥🔥
Thanks a bunch for testing Starfield, upgraded from a HP Omen 3070 laptop to this just for Starfield (And Adobe Illustrator on the go).
Funny thing now that you've mentioned it i also bought this laptop few days ago for Starfield.
I was shaking watching it run those games like that... this thing is a *BEAST*
What's the wallpaper used on your demos with the train ride? Is that something you've downloaded or created yourself? Thanks
Wow nice!
Very nice review! - What are the titles/names of the wallpaper in Wallpaper Engine are you using? I'm trying to find them but I can't. Thanks!
Infinite journeys
I always wonder how you get that video wallpaper on your computers. Is it a part of windows or third party software?
A real hoss of a laptop. I’m not huge into it, but cool that the option exists for people who have the proper use case for it. Wanna run emulation on it?
You finally got a good gaming laptop!
Micro center got you cuh
Do laptops like this play and record at higher resolution than 1080? My £1800 asus struggles on OBS and its an i9 with 2080
I love your reviews, I've always wanted to see how cpus like this would do with an Audio workstation
Hello, I have just bought the laptop you discussed and I have a question. Do you know anything about thermal insulation? That is, is there paste or maybe liquid metal implemented on the graphics card and processor? Regards.
Nice wallpaper at the beginning. Can you send the link for it?
Were you on custom or performance mode while benchmarking these games??
Fantastic.
I'd expect an OLED screen on a laptop that retails for over three grand.
Not many gaming laptops have OLED screens, probably due to refresh rates. They seem to be used mostly on "creator" laptops.
Same no OLED is a fail at this price
@@Max_Mustermann msi had a one with OLED 240Hz last year, so it's not refresh issue.
@@Max_Mustermannits burn in, which is less of an issue now. But many people worry about it still
@@Ali-Sensei Maybe there's another reason. But there are very few gaming laptops with OLED screens.
Please dont ever change your intro, it feels like i am at home with a rainy day
Always curious about that train video wallpaper and where to get it
They work well in this segment, but I had an asus rog and bad experience with warranty issues and so on, and I think next time I would go to a desktop.
Hey jarrod among asus tuf f15 vs lenovo ideapad gaming 3 vs hp victus which one should i go for specs - ryzen 5 5600h rtx 3050 please help out a brother i am very confused. All of the laptops are in their old chassis not the new builds please suggest me the best choice
Thanks
what app is that on your screen which can show the FPS and temp meter monitor for GPU thanks
Hi, what kind of "stand" did you use to make the laptop stand subtly up like that? (i'm refering to Overview - section of the video around 2:43 )
How is the thermaal and temperature playing ultraa graapahic on flat desk without laptop cooling fan? both gpu and cpu still able to rock it without any issue?
Thats impressive honestly. Especially the 60fps on Starfield.
Does it bypass the battery entirely if you have it plugged in to the wall/powerbank? That would be cool
I have an older Lenovo Legion and it does, completely, I even have mine set to only charge the battery to 50-60%, so I’d assume this does, like most gaming laptops
@@itsjuank very nice 👌
"60 FPS is impressive"
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
My commodore 64 can run starfield 4k with ray tracing at 240 fps....not impressed
@@191. It's more down to the game being ass, not the lack of power. Welcome to game dev in 2023...
Can you add charts to compare the performance and also get a laptop with 7730u
Would you recommend the Intel cpu or AMD CPU version of this laptop? The AMD version with 4090 is $100 cheaper than the intel version with/4090
U got the fasted handy and fastest laptop . For 3 weeks at best ;)
Nice Background Animation. Is this a specific App?
Probably wallpaper engine
impressive for the watts used
Can any1 tell me is it any kind of program that shows the frames and other values in the upper left corner during the gaming testing..?...Kind regards Brian
Where, pray tell, did those animated wallpapers you use come from, kind Sir? 🙂
So if I’m a mom looking for a quality item for my daughter and I know nothing about what gaming requires. What do people suggest for add ons if any or other tips? What head sets or added mouse etc
Impressive and a price tag to match. Love the sick wallpapers you always have on machines. Where do you get them from?
Wallpaper engine
What refresh rates is this laptop capable of on an external display at 1440p?
Its great but I prefer 17 inch and mini led screen like Acer Predator Triton 17 X. Maybe will buy it one day
My pc back when I was little had 64 MB of ram and no video card. and a Pentium processor... single core. this is insane.
dose it support 140w legion Charger ? could you please test it
Adding dlss in a 4090 is nuts.
Good enough for Oldschool Runescape
What about longevity in terms of build quality and linux support or peripherals? does Lenovo use peripherals that are compatible to install linux counterparts of their windows utilities for fingerprint scanners and such?
Linux and NVIDIA? 💀
@@fran2911what is the question...? You can run Linux with nvidia
@@fran2911 archlinux works with nvidia u just gotta install one package and reboot and that's it
@eta prime was wondering about the wallpaper
please reply, how can we use the live desktop wallpapers for free?! pretty awesome
You should include thermal and fan noise on the review.
I could Imagine Going To micro center in Seguin Texas Yes
your videos are some of the first videos that i ever noticed that i had a possible influence in by suggesting a few things. last year i think i affected the Ukraine war in a few different ways.
dude were did you get the wallpaper we need to know
Do a 1k budget laptop next
i9 + rtx4090? check the temps after 2 hours on ultra settings, I'm quite curiuos
are these tested plugged in or on battery? youll get double the FPS plugged in
How can I find that animated wallpaper ?
Sure all that is nice and all but can it run City Skylines 2? ( city builders Crysis) :)
Hey do a video on gigabyte 4060 low profile GPU. Make a new itx pc.😎👍 I believe it's on Amazon for 329 or so.
Would be nice if they cut down the battery size for more thermal space and less noise / heat.
Just bought this used for $2k. Love it
I'll be getting a '24 version 7i pro 4090 soon, with the newer 14900hx processor. Part of me wants to save a little more, and get the 9i, but I'm not sold on the liquid cooling, it's experimental, and seemingly unnecessary, imo. I just don't know how that will hold up, in the long run.
is this compared to the more expensive asus rog scar 16 2023 withb rtx 4090?
I have the 4080 version and I can vouch for it!
Dang boy, you rich
@@donniedarko4497 bought it mainly for AI research purposes, sadly I don't have much time for gaming nowadays.
Nah, the 4080 is a poor man's 4090@@donniedarko4497
Me too, an absolute beast!
Just bought the 4080 version as well. First laptop purchased in about 7-8 years. I wonder if I'll notice any major differences...
i'm torn between this and the 4080 option. I wanted a 4090 as it's a much closer equivalent to the 4080 fe in my desktop rig but not sure it's worth £650 when absolute rare best case scenario is 30% faster.
Get the 4080 honestly.
@@RockstarRomaniaYeah 90% of the time in this situation but I just purchased this in a 4090..... Just because I cannot live with a GPU 1 off the best..... lol worth it
With a Laptop we sometimes face the problem of the Intel GPU doing the monitor output. With the IGFX drivers I can not do a custom resolution, to match the HDMI output to a 4k tv (changing resolution every game bootup sucks). So the second a saw a 4k HDR monitor on a laptop, I knew it was what I was going to get. Got one second hand, with first gen RTX and is my current gen gaming machine tell next gen or even beyond with thunderbolt Gpus becoming more streamlined.
This laptop has all the video out ports connected directly to the RTX 4090 mobile
@@crestofhonor2349 Great as Nvidia has a kickass custom resolution option for monitors to match a 4k tv. Nothing worse then every startup having to change settings.
please do a review of Lenovo legion pro 5 intel/AMD version
*It's crazy how much power you can cram into a laptop!*
How do that youtube symbol
Now there is the new Lenovo Legion 9i with an integrated Water Cooler inside the Laptop
Yes, it's very beautiful but incredibly expensive!
How can I get the wallpaper??
Can anyone link me to that wallpaper engine wallpaper? Looks sweet!
Hey wats the background on desktop
I would like to see either Bazzite or ChimeraOS running on it.
Id like to see how this performs on an external 4k display
What about a Lenovo Legion 7i vs Asus ROG Strix Scar G16 with Nebula Display .... which one is better???
Can you do emulation on this laptop
no oculink lame one of the main upgrades i am planning for my framework is a oculink adapter for the GPU spot
This is a good laptop but what i dont think gets called out enough with it is the keyboard flex in one specific area: the wasd area. Its insane how much it flexes right there. Look it up online and a lot of people have this issue with it. Not a deal breaker as in actual use its not a huge deal but obviously id rather not have that flex, and no reviewers really mention it.
Which laptop you prefer over this ?
why is it not oled?
Wallpaper thumbnail?
I'll buy 2 😂 awesome review
Please could you teardown?
Brought to you by MicroCenter...with zero locations in the RDU area. :D
Is it worth to pay more for mini led display in Legion 9i model ?
Yes if you're in that category.
Would you say this laptop is worth the price? i paid $2070 on an auction from ebay for it.
What is the difference between 7 and 7i? Both are using 4090 and 13900HX.
7 is AMD CPU and 7i has an intel CPU i believe
the problem of laptop gaming is the cooling system, it only has exhaust, not cooling.
I need the pro 9i.....!
Not enough info about exactly what kind of battery life could be expected, which makes me wonder whether on a practical level, this is little more than a slim desktop.
The update for dlss is out for starfield
Basically max out every single game at 60+ fps at ultra, if only I could afford such a overkill laptop 😭
One day ill get a laptop like this
That's what I said for a long time.. then got a MSI 2070 laptop ( not the low power efficient GPU) .
And it's been a work horse since 2018 but now it's considered Old 😢.
Nothing is king forever
unless you need the mobility I really wouldnt ever bother with a laptop, next to no upgrade path and dank cooling
@@MrSpaced123 other than mobility, there's something appealing about having a clean, all in one setup for a computer without the clutter of wires and separate peripherals attached like monitors speakers keyboard mouse external drives lan cables taking up the space of an entire table top.
can you please test out some FPS games like - call of duty , fortnite ?
