I just used the paint app with right clicking the photo and going edit and it opens instantly. Photos app literally takes 2 minutes to open and sometimes wont even open what a piece of garbage.
This. On my shitty laptop speed is very important, especially if I have a lot photos from some books that I need to read but can't take home from library. Speed should be the key here, not some flashy phone app style shit.
The new Photos app doesn't even work with the mouse forward/backward buttons. Photo Viewer worked more like a browser and was better overall. Another dumb decision for Windows 10.

The reason I wanted Windows Photo Viewer back anyway was because I was doing Photoshop work and my image was very crisp in PS, but then when I opened it in photos, the quality degraded! I found out online that opening JPEGs in Photo Viewer kept them high quality, and it's true! Thanks so much!

As a photographer, Windows Photo Viewer is so much better for viewing photos as they show the correct colour profile. The new "Photos" doesn't so everything looks over saturated. Bootyful. 2020, working like a charm. No reboot needed. Just create the text file, edit with notepad, save and open again. Windows will add the new registry and you can just dump the file in the trash, because it's already been added.

i accidentaly uninstalled the classic windows 10 photo viewer while uninstalling all the useless bloatware and tracking things that windows putted into windows 10, then i found this video, thanks a lot, less bloatwares in my pc for the things i need to do :)
Thank god for this video. Mine just disappeared from a 6 month old install for some reason, and was no longer selectable, but doing this was super quick and painless, and it worked perfectly. Thank god for channels like these on youtube.
