This actually works great. I've just noticed in the last few days (January 17, 2025 today) that RUclips has almost non--stop ads during ALL videos, ad after ad more than I've ever seen. About 80% of the you tube videos I watch on the main home desktop computer. After that the most common way I watch them is on the tv either through the Roku or the built in Sony internet system on the tv. I rarely use my cell phone for watching videos unless I'm in my car away from any other device to watch them. But I much prefer using the computer over the clunky controls on the tv, it's so much faster and streamlined using the computer. And when I do watch videos on the tv from you tube I usually find the video I want on the computer first, then use the "cast" option on the computer to sent it to the tv. I'm not sure if there's a way to send the ad free you tube video that he shows how to set up here, from the computer to the tv to watch it without ads on the tv as well.
Hi. Thank you for this useful piece of information. The number of ads during a YT movie has been increasing to one every 5 min! This is riduculous. I tried your method and it works on my desktop PC. Is there any work around on my YT App on my iPhone?
@@majorgeeks I tried on Google Chrome (because I wanted to cast in on my Chromcast dongle on my TV) but the advertisements started back. There is a big screen on my laptop without any comments field. If you don't have a VPN or don't want to use this method and want to stay in the YT "ecosystem" - after clicking on your page, just quickly hit the back button on your browser once the commercial starts - and forward right back. Commercial time was only a second. Enjoy the video :)

Waste of time. Many people are inserting in-video ads on their own. Can't stop them. Just fast-forward. I pay for RUclips Premium, and STILL have to watch in-video ads or fast-forward.
