I tried it at launch. I had a lot of hope in this game and it was a disaster. Now, while it is playable and the devs brought back the features required for a decent Battlefield game, the veteran players left the game and the majority of the playerbase don't know how to Battlefield. Medics doesn't revive. They don't drop ammo boxes, only if they need it. Engineers doesn't repair tanks and vehicles. It just became a generic shooter with annoying features. I'm still excited about the next BF game.
@@clethcriss6258 Think it's the general level of players for these games these days, the tactical side kinda died out over BC2, 3, 4 - the tone is so different from Battlefield 2
8/10 game in its current state. 5 bucks makes it even more valuable. Hitreg is a little problem I noticed but the biggest thing is the braindead teammates. People forgot what battlefield is when it comes to this one apparently. Wished the devs were still working on it but thanks to us, EA thought it was over for this game.
You know its bad when your game is 90% off, under 5 bucks, and I'm still just thinking, eh is it even worth the space on my hard drive? Bad Company 2 was a blast, and all I really want is... well I just want to play that again but on PC
That's kinda where I am as well, i get the feelings - for me, for $5 there's enough nostalgia value for BC2 / 3 / 4 that I play it. The newer maps are just icing on the cake
I'll get it now after your review. Haven't really played a Battlefield since BF4. Gamers are often so resentful and bitter. I don't care about its release status, I care about a good time for a bargain.
It’s worth it if it’s cheap, been playin since beta and release and I still stand by it instead of most cods but Bo6 has been takin my time but I still comeback to 42’
Having not played battlefield since bf4. Not knowing anything about the state of game on launch. 5 bucks on sale has given me a number of amazing experiences. I couldn’t figure out how it could release so bad. Either way idc I’m gonna enjoy while I’m still having fun !
Even after spending all that time reverting their most glaring mistakes, it's still so painfully mid. The gunplay went from ridiculous cross-map accuracy to nothing special. The maps remain bad to servicable at best (still far better than at launch). The wacky hero-shooter personas got toned down but "classes" only exist on paper, it's still just roleless mish-mash where finding ammo or heals remains a crapshoot. Not to mention the technical issues with low tickrate servers, mouse input issues, etc... You wont find any PTFO or teamwork worth a damn but if you just wanna bully some console players because this game forces crossplay on, it's still a decent pick for the $5 or whatever it's on sale for.
Yea I agree with much of what you said, mouse did feel better than launch but didn't mention in the video. Think for $5 you can get enough enjoyment from where the game is now, especially with the next game being a decent time away.
Played at launch or maybe the beta and found nothing grabbed me, ent back to other titles, today a friend said its £4 so its now downloading, I know ill get my monies worth at least. informative video, very much appreciated.
its absolute shit because players today literally dont give a crap about the objectives.... despite their being plenty of mechanics for team oriented play. for me it isn't dice that's the problem - it's the mentality of gamers . they don't hold objectives, repair vehicles, take out enemy vehicles, revive friends, drop ammo, etc ...and will actually steal your vehicle if you get out and repair... the only way folks will help one another is if the devs force them to, or put objectives on the battlepass - when given the chance everyone is a try hard sweat acting like it's tdm ... like 90% selfish assholes
its definitey worth buying on sale .......other than that its MID ......Fun gameplay depends on type of match make u get ...its not the All good ...but To chill and shoot around on a beautiful MAP its worth buying plus its only 4 $ or 5$ on Sale on Steam
@@chrisjoyce3526 Titanfall 2 really had a bad release too. iirc they launced it in between the COD and BF of that year so ppl didn't pick it up. Least it's getting recognition now for being a classic and a high point for FPS games
I've been a battlefield fan since battlefield 3 server started the m16a3 53 times. Played the fuck out of that game. 2042 is getting there but like you said you can't fix something. It's already broke. I'm hoping the next game will go back to its roots like a assault class. Recon class support class
I played the demo just before launch and wasn’t impressed so I didn’t bother, I’m with you on Bad Company 2 best BF. I have just downloaded BF2042 on the EA app for free so I’ll be on it tonight. I’m really hoping for the next BF to be a success as I’m a huge BF fan so fingers crossed. Great review! 👍👍
Yea I played the same launch demo, it ran terribly iirc. It's a bunch better now, certainly worth trying out if you fancy some BF-style FPS gaming, double worth it if you get free access with your EA sub. Thanks!
I bought it for 5 bucks like a week ago and i noticed the game is dead as fuck, 90% of players in a server are AI. - the Helicopter controls feel like made for toddlers (unlike bf4) - there's no way to disable AI servers - the filters in the server browser are shit - there's no "ALL" chat so bassically shit game experience. - the map design is beautiful but most of the maps are huge as fuck and you always end up running long distances with 0 cover. - the AI bots feel super dumb. - the new attachment system UI is a nightmare and feels dumb. but hey, it only costs 5 bucks. you get what you pay for.
I don't care how good they say it is now, I am not buying Battlefield 2042! Out of principle or whatever fleeting feeling I have that I even give a fuck about the franchise anymore. So many broken promises, so many "We back bois!" and just no many disappointments.
You know what, Hardline was odd for sure - but their 'conquest' mode or whatever it was called was actually good 😂it was vehicle you needed to keep driving around, lead to some interesting gameplay....but yea that wasn't enough for me to play.
still a big pile of crap, u can't see shit let alone shoot normal cept for the cheaters that kill u from all sides the crappy event doesn'y make up for this crap
What to YOU think about Battlefield 2042? Did you play at launch? Been wondering if it's worth playing? Let me know by leaving a Comment RIGHT NOW! 🙂🙂
Bought it 2 month ago, i play it every day 2-3 hours, it's a great game!

Regarding the maps, there are some maps I've yet to play on. Always get thrown into matches on maps I've played many times before.
yea, totally agree with this point - it's kinda odd

A fair review. Let's hope they don't screw up the next one... it may be their last shot.
Cheers. Yea there does seem like there's a feeling that the next one is make-or-break for the series.
Your vids are always perfectly timed somehow 😂 thank you !
Glad you like them!
I can’t even play it because EA launcher is never opening and game is stuck at “preparing game”
Odd, never seen that. Can you verify the files or something like that?

Forced crossplay is stupid but i smash pc players on my series x all the time 😂

Appreciated!
I only buy this current sale because I love the Battlefield series. Hope they still put something on next event.

Well that’s just how ”dead” games tends to be like. At least in my experience

I love Battlefield series and I’m having fun
You had me at “my personal favourite BAD COMPANY 2!” Damnit all!! Why must everything I love dieeeeee😢😅
Oh yah! Titan Fall..the original..kicked so much keister!! another masterpiece that failed hard on its second attempt tho..😢😅

worth it just for the rm68, still feels broken
honestly pretty decent right now especially if u get it on sale
Guys I just purchased 2042, is the multiplayer still active?
It is, yea. 10k peak players on steam alone per day. It's active enough for full servers
I played the demo just before launch and wasn’t impressed so I didn’t bother, I’m with you on Bad Company 2 best BF. I have just downloaded BF2042 on the EA app for free so I’ll be on it tonight. I’ve always wanted a Bad Company 3 with true destruction just like 2. Being able to destroy anything, not scripted like later BF’s
Nah, I'm buying a pack of Marl's Reds instead, f*** 2042 and 2024.
I bought it for 5 bucks like a week ago and i noticed the game is dead as fuck, 90% of players in a server are AI.

but hey, it only costs 5 bucks. you get what you pay for.
Bought it last week on sale. Refund in 30 mins. Lifeless and generic BF. Not worth even 5 dollars.
I would still rather play this over any cod game for sure
I don't care how good they say it is now, I am not buying Battlefield 2042!
Out of principle or whatever fleeting feeling I have that I even give a fuck about the franchise anymore. So many broken promises, so many "We back bois!" and just no many disappointments.
Fair enough
Should probably watch the most recent Russian Badger then
So the devs stick around a fix what went wrong and try and save the game, and you think that isn’t worth rewarding with your dollars?
Fun at launch and that’s about it
steam charts are way too low, its not worth it
Never played 2042 and never will. Same with Hardline. What made me not interested in both games were the silly game concepts...
You know what, Hardline was odd for sure - but their 'conquest' mode or whatever it was called was actually good 😂it was vehicle you needed to keep driving around, lead to some interesting gameplay....but yea that wasn't enough for me to play.
If ur glad to miss out oh well, game is pretty fun i
Ok
"Ima comment just to rag" lol PTFO scrub.
hardline was super fun though...
The problem is too many noobs play TM and only get 3 kills and die 20 times.. lmao
still a big pile of crap, u can't see shit let alone shoot normal cept for the cheaters that kill u from all sides the crappy event doesn'y make up for this crap
I played 2042 from the release and I was completely satisfied with it, I liked some features of the game even more on release than now.
You clearly have issues
Still a dogshit game.
