That’s actually so true I’ve tried building differentials and stuff in scrap mechanic and sometimes it just flips out of reality or just starts spinning for no reason

The issue with the trebuchet is that you had the loading mechanism / basket in a line AWAY from the trebuchet. The basket needs to be UNDER the trebuchet so when the main part begins to rise, it smoothly brings along the basket in a C shape, instead of the jank that happened, which was like drawing a 2 from the bottom, losing speed. Great video btw!
I very much wish that create aeronautics comes out soon.
I can't wait either, as much as I love Valkyrien Skies I wanna try all the features that Aero will have.

With the trebuchet, i believe you have to have the part that launches go under the trebuchet so that it gains the cylindrical force needed to go much further. Check out how they are launched normally.
You're right about that but I had no good way to reset the trebuchet back in that position after each firing

Couldn't you use a clutch to connect and disconnect the two legs on the walker? You'd have to time it right when finishing a turn but I think that would work.

On the trebuchet, you should see if you can get the release mechanism to work with the 'chain' wound in the other direction, so it curls underneath the central arm and gets dragged in the same direction as the pulling arm, this is how trebuchets in real life are laid out before they're fired, and I think it should give it some extra power :)
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! I do hope that I can help people make their own machines. As for the trebuchet that was my initial idea but every time I fired it I couldn't get it to go back to where the chain was underneath it. I'll have to try to make that improvement in the future.

trebuchet should have 1 rope tied onto the end of the long arm and the other hooked onto the end in a way where it falls off at round 33 degrees to get a 45 degree shot or close to it

Yes, glad I'm not the only one with similar thoughts of functional 40K battles. I was working on walking/firing Titans, but rolling/firing Stompas would be easier. I'm new to modded, I was blown away by just the minecart assembler making it possible for my Grandfather Nurgle to stir his big cauldron; now Create, Valkyrean skies, Eureka, Big Cannons; our dreams could def be on the cards! :D
187 Comments! Nice!! Trebuchet - 200 blocks nice!!. I was experimenting making a boulder (to see if an Indiana Jones rolling boulder works/is effective). But whilst messing around with the gravity gun, I threw the boulder into the sky, and honestly I didn't see it come back down, looked for 10 mins!?!? >XD
The 2nd Trebuchet, or first, I don't imagine flaming netherrack can have physics added to it, or if you can light it afterwards!
Between these mods and Big Cannons mod, my dream of playable 40K in MC is possible, in 1st and/or 3rd person.... if I can get my head around all the mechanics

I still havent fully figured out the difference, but i can imagine that they might mess with each other
to be honest with tanks you have the first type that is a normal stearing that is mostly not used today, and the second that is neutral stearing.
Neutral stearing is "more advanced" so you won't really see them like in WW2

See, I think I could make a better walking machine if I could use these mods, but I have yet to find a modpack that includes them (Should totally combine computercraft with this)
your walker would work better if the center section had a stable foot. that way the legs can lift and move forward without the whole structure leaning that way.
(you would have the height of the center foot set at the center of the leg's range of vertical motion.)
It's pronounced Chebyshev, not Shebyshev (tho, if you want it to be even closer to how it's pronounced in his mother tongue, you could pronounce it Chebyshof with stress on the last syllable)
at 5:00 you might be able to recreate this somehow without shaders using redstone contacts and lamps
Have you tried the Starndbeest mechanism? It might help with the walker builds also it’s fascinating to watch in real life.

the trammel of archimedes is also called the do nothing machine because for anything other than tracing one cool shape, it is completely useless
The first mechanism, you need to have the outlet with the same angle as the input to avoid those changes in velocity.

Have you ever played Space Engineers? If not, you should have a look. If you like this, wait until you see what can be done in that game! I've seen people make Mechs with automated Mech bays that remove and replace weapon attachments and then send the Mech back out, freshly armed with new weapons. Pretty complex stuff. Beyond my skills, but you obviously have the skill set.

Trebuchet is kinda made wrong here.
I know that the sling should be under the trebuchet but I had not good way of resetting it to that position. Is there something else that should be different on the trebuchet?
