A lot of people (including my kids) make fun of me because ever since my first BlackBerry phone, I have been addicted and have never bought anything else. My kids switched to apple and subsequently samsung, but I stuck it out with BlackBerry and now it's like we're being rewarded!! I've always had a great experience with my BlackBerry and have never felt deprived. Thank you for making these videos. BlackBerry and Crackberry rocks!! :D

Claudia Castaneda after my q10 I scuttled over to the iphone 6s it bored and angered me. Outdated OS and inexplicable memory fascist. And although RIM didn't make it directly, my Keyone feels as close to a BlackBerry as well ever see again. It feels right.

I used to work for a cell phone company and I did drop testing. 6 planes (top, bottom, back, front, left side and right side) from 6 foot, 5 drops each plane. No damage allowed. Bet we can't do that on anything on the market today!

I'm always bragging about BlackBerry to my brother. Especially my passport. Talking about how professional it looks and it's durability. I make jokes like, 'if this phone hits the floor, the floor will rather break'. Well I know he watches jerryrigseverything and I'm just waiting for him to start talking about the Keyone. The video that Kevin made at least provides us the info that there actually is an adhesive that sticks the screen and the phone together. Also I think it's pretty good that BlackBerry mobile put out a statement to assist customers if they ran into such a problem. The Keyone would solve a number of problems that I am having with bb10. After u become a BlackBerry user it's kinda hard to move to another phone. I mean samsung just seems plasticky to me. Same with some android phones out there. Either their battery is bad or some other thing. I've been very happy with my BlackBerry Passport. OS easy to use and it makes multitasking very possible. I can never bring myself to buy an iPhone. NOPE!!!. I just can't. I see them as over priced, no expansion slot, new phones just look like their predecessors, etc. Again varied problems like being able to fly my drone cause I presently can't use DJI GO on my passport, my bank of America app doesn't work anymore, my chase bank app doesn't work anymore, since the update from 10.3.2 to 10.3.3 my passport has been sluggish, etc

The KeyOne is solid! Thanks for the demo CBK. My daily driver currently is the Dtek50. Haven't used a physical keyboard since the 9700. During my Project Management training a few weeks ago I made a presentation about BlackBerry. Everybody was shocked on how many devices BlackBerry has released in the past 3 years( Dtek series, Z30 my old driver, PRIV etc) right here in Canada.

I love how you addressed this without bashing JerryRigEverything, and that it's truly okay, to have a BlackBerry without a case, just as nature intended ;)
Thanks for clearing the air CBK, love your work!

I have been obsessing about this phone to replace my 6-year-old HTC Status that doesn't ring, with keys that don't work, and no memory to run any apps (you may cry for/laugh at me now), but was very apprehensive because of other videos I saw where the screen popped out fairly easily. Thank you so much for showing its durability and redeeming this phone. I will continue to save up for it.

As expected in real world... Iphone is nice only into its package... outside it is often broken. The S8 is a broken glass. Both need extra protection (so what's the point to have a so thin and fragile device). the Keyone is better. But......

actually this is the most crazy phone breaking test I have seen. I have watched a lot over the years in selecting my phones. Blackberry is one of the most durable and toughest phones ever made. I had a bb 9900 and also a curve too. They are super tough. I have a passport which is super great built quality too. But suffering from certain restrictions when it comes to communication apps which is essential for my work.
From the looks of it keyone is really well design.I think it is one of the best best ergonomics phones there is. I dont think keyone can even be remotely labeled as a badly design less durable phone. In my view it is a great phone. if i have the opportunity it will surly be my next phone. :D
Guess BB keyone with android can fix me if I get one of the two phones.

  • @rrdaley
    @rrdaley 7 лет назад +1

I don't know why some people judge phones by how they stand up to dropping. For me the most important things when looking for a smart phone is: 1. Blackberry 2. battery life 3. typing experience 4. availability of key apps (not the amount of apps in the store). Keyone suits me just fine, and since i'm not a diver don't give two hoots whether it can survive being dropped in water. So I wouldn't mind you handing me one of those test KEYone BB.

    I want the KEYone!
I'm not surprised the BlackBerry held up better than the others. I've had a Q10 for 3.5 years and a Bold 9900 for several years before that and have never had them break on me (unlike other phones I had prior to going to BlackBerry - I think I had some Samsung thing for less than a year at one point). I drop my phone on almost a daily basis and one time, I tried to break the fall with my foot and instead accidentally drop kicked my phone across the room. I'm pretty sure BlackBerry phones are made either of or by honey badgers.

Hi Kevin, it's a good video showing the durability of the BlackBerry KEYone. Especially the Tesla Launch Mode test but the loose display panel is a bit of a concern.
Overall, I am impressed with it and would love to have one for myself. My Samsung is literally struggling to chug along with my workflow despite being bought just a year ago.
That part where you drop the KEYone in the toilet is gross though. I would not want to touch that. LOL.

Great video Kevin, I do find it reassuring for those of us interested in the KeyOne. While I was disappointed with the result on JerryRigEverything's video, yours was more focused on the real use of a device, so in the end it's more useful for most.
I'm eagerly waiting to know if and when the KeyOne will be offered in Mexico. At home we're interested in getting at least 3 and a business partner wants one as an upgrade to his Passport. So it'd be great to win one at least for the time being! ;)

Hey Kevin, being a Blackberry fan.I didn't like the part of wasting the old collectible 8700 & 9700.
KeyOne is fine, you can waste them as much as you can !!
Apart from this, good test though to prove its durability to the world.
    Thanks for making this video.

Kevin thanks for the video I thought you really made a good argument on how good the build quality for the KEYone is.

Hands down without a shadow of a doubt one of the best reviews in terms of durability out there. You Sir, thanks a lot. My contact is also up in 1 month so considering one of these.

This is exactly the real life test I am looking for when deciding if a phone is tough for everyday use or not. Time to find a store the have one in stock, as they are disappearing rather quick from everywhere. Good job on the video CBK.

before all the screen popping propaganda. I dropped my keyone on the road, when I got static from my car while closing the car door. So in reaction to static I flung my phone 10,12 feet away and almost 8,9 feet high on the road few scratches on the sides and on screen very minor still looks brand new.. Loved the built and weight..

Crackberry Kevin, my son and I thoroughly enjoyed your video, and laughed. We were educated as well, and I can't wait to purchase my KeyOne. Do you have any more to give away? Blessings!

As expected, KeyOne is durable.. That metal frame looks unique and the design is really different from other phones!

Thanks for helping me decide on it Kevin 😍 I can't wait for this phone to get here! Literally dying for one... Hope I can afford it though, heard it's pretty pricey.

my 2008 BlackBerry Bold lasted for ever even after dropping it a 100 times maybe. retired it eventually. Nothing to beat the voice calls clarity on BlackBerry. Been using the PRIV since November 2015. it is a landline replacement. Can't say that about iPhone or any other Android. I am assuming KEYone is comparable. KB is a must! I actually like the slide-out on PRIV.

Kevin... the Awesome guy! thanks Bro. I knew KEYone will be better than the others. I would like to see how the KEYone reacts if "by mistake" you left the phone inside the your car for a couple hours now that the weather is extremely hot and the phone will definitely get the hit (and even you can put it right on the front board of your car while the sun is its best) . After a couple hours, I would like to see how the KEYone responds immediately after you take it from inside your car.
