Density FTW. Seriously one of the phones you need to hold to appreciate.

The Passport felt like that. Dense. I liked it a lot and always hoped to see a Android Passport. This phone seems to be it.

To be honest that, I think "Keytwo" should bring back the Blackberry navi bar and delete the android navi keys, just like the Classic. Since with Android, Blackberry to make the system to work with blackberry keys, just like the Keyone. I miss physical keys so much, not just the keyboard, but also a key for answering/hang up phone calls. Come on Blackberry, you going to the right path and keep it up!

This reminds me when I first used a Palm Treo 650. Kinda heavy phone (for its time) but with the qwery keyboard you had a fully functional device that would allow you to do anything you usually did on a PDA.
I feel its kinda like a much improved and modern version of the concept the Treo introduced: A completely business device, with a great OS, great battery life and ready for all your multimedia needs.
Man, I NEED, I WANT this device SO MUCH!
    Great review @crackberrykevin.

I've had the phone a week, absolutely love it! When BB went bad on the market and was hard to find in most stores, I did the switch to iPhones. But I was so excited when I heard about Keyone that I picked one up as soon as it arrived in Sydney stores. I've always loved Blackberry, there's just something no nonsense but yet classy about them. I just hope the mix of TCL and BB brings them back strong in the market, and that they continue with the keyboard style phone, and fantastic battery life.
Thanks for your review Kevin! And a thought... I seen other review, and mention was made re no real point bothering using BBM, as nobody on there these days, so many other messaging apps out there etc. For those who like Blackberry, do you think its worth kick starting BBM again as a global community network? And if we get strong enough base, hopefully BB will continue to produce quality stuff for those who like what they do.
    Thoughts out there?

Asante (thanks) 4 the review Kev! As a Priv owner I c this being my next Blackberry device. While I do like the color of the K1 I would love 2 c it n other colors as well. Especially in blue, similar 2 the Classic that u displayed n the video. I love the capacitive PKB feature but it would b nice if the fingerprint key could b used like the trackpad on the Classic 4 times where u need a cursor on the screen so your fingers don't have to leave the keyboard. That was 1 thing I love so much about the Classic which is my favorite Blackberry of all time in terms of productivity. Maybe that can b a feature n the K2 or K1 Pro that u suggested n the video. Peace!

Hey, Kevin! Love your BB KEYone reviews, as always! I really could use your help! I really want the BB KEYone, but I also need to know if I should wait till the 64GB and 4 GB RAM phone to get it (waiting that long, however that will be, is an issue 'cause I'm supposed to give my Dad my iPhone SE because his is dying a horrible death, but I need a new phone first). Will 3 GB RAM be future proof enough to run Android 8.0 Oreo or will the 3 GB it comes with be too few? Will it be smooth for a few years like iPhones are or will it start to lag like people say it might? Should I wait for the 4 GB version or will it not make much difference? I am really good at closing out apps and only have a few open at once (usually one or two), I almost never play games, but I'm worried it won't be enough if I'm occasionally playing a big game or two (Pokemon GO and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, for instance). Please help me! Thank you so much!

True enough on battery life,,, but,,, there u go, huge battery, small screen and lesser power eating specs. And that's not a bad thing. Another BB thing. Not alot o bull, just the strong basics. Good video.

One thing that should be noted is that the area of Keyone screen is the same with a 4.8 inch 16:9 screen (ordinary smartphone aspect ratio) or the same with a 5 inch (Galaxy S8 aspect ratio). So in reality you have a larger working area than that of an ordinary 4.5 inch phone.

I had no choice but to get an iPhone once Sprint stopped carrying Blackberrys.. then I bought the q10 off eBay only to read that Sprint would be picking up the priv (straight from John Chen) & then they didn’t AFTER I RETURNED THE BRAND NEW Q10! I ultimately ended up with the iPhone 7. I had a 5s before that & had totally resisted Apple but I have gotten quite used to iOS.. I have checked out the KEYone at the shop a few times & I’m just not sold on it. It just has too much of the Android influence.. + it’s preloaded with Amazon apps & I’m an eBay man as you may have gathered from my previous comment. + Apple is Nike friendly 😉
With that being said, if it will help my productivity, has a Sony camera & earbuds, & ensures I don’t give another cent to Apple, I still may consider..
Oh yeah & I recently lost my dongle so I haven’t been able to use my Sony headphones when working out 😡
Could I be converted to Android 🤔

There's the " enhanced " kernel, offering greater security which I appreciate. Trouble is, it does this by restricting what you can do , which I definitely don't appreciate. So the kernel IMHO is a wash , particularly considering that I can do essentially the same thing with fewer restrictions using a antivirus app.

I was so so interested in this phone until I got to know its price. I have a Xiamo redmi Note 4 as my second phone. It has almost the same specs with more RAM and more internal memory and 4000 Mah battery that goes on and on. All this for under $ 200. Mind you this phone hasn't shown even a hint of lag or stutter. Why would I buy a BB at $ 500+ then?

Hi, can anyone answer why the keyone black edition is not available from Canadian carriers?? I don't want to spend 699 outright but fine to spend up to 199 on a 2 yr contract at bell, Rogers, Telus. But none of those carry the black edition. I don't understand?? It's really sucks! Does anyone know if they might get in future. I'm willing to hold out for a bit. Thanks!

Most of the BA security features , such as verified boot and encryption, are nothing that Android doesn't already do. Curiously, the Priv and the DTEK50 lack fingerprint scanners, a strange omission indeed for security focused devices... Nor should we forget that BB has backed away from prompt security updates, in which case there's no advantage over other Androids.
