      @@retaliaterguitar2 I hear that they are really nice to ride but probably not my cup of tea either, but I wouldn't mind going for a test ride on one though. I have a 2000 Kawasaki Vulcan classic 1500 which I love but currently spend most of my time on a 2004 Suzuki V Strom DL 1000 which is amazing. I'd say I like touring on the V Strom better than the cruiser. To each his own though. It's an amazing time to ride with all the different bikes available.

My job options are limited due injuries from a multi-flip traffic collision I was a passenger in where my seatbelt came undone and I flat lined for 3m 45s afterwords. 4 herniated disks in the neck 2 torn disks in the upper mid back, a twisted spine, left hip is higher than my right and I can't get chiropractic treatment due to a torn dura that is 2 1/2 inches long also putting me at a weight restriction of 20lbs until I'm fully healed on the 26th of May 2021 putting me in the low income job market. Davidsons baby, he invented the dyna style with the 1971 Superglide a bike with an FL Frame and an XL Front End, and after the FX ALL the New things until Willie G retired went on the FX 1st !! the 1st electronic ignition the FXE, the 1st big twin sport model the FXS Lowrider, the 1st Belt drive the FXB sturgis, the 1st Rubber mounted engine the FXR, and the Dyna Frame the FXD the FX bikes were the 1st to get the 6 speed and the upgrade to hydraulic cam tensioners Etc Etc

    I've got the 05 version with the fxdx suspension. It's a really capable all around bike. I've taken trips on it and I've also hit the Canyons with it. Not the greatest bike for either, but it does both very capably. like you said, for the price range, it's a great entry into Harley world, although I don't consider myself an entry-level Rider. always enjoy the vids, thanks keep them coming. also love the words of wisdom.

      I know your post is 3 yrs old. Question on the shocks/suspension. I'm looking at the dyna line because of the mid controls. I have a vstar 1100 and the pegs are way too far forward for my short legs and there's no option for mid controls. BUT the roads I ride on are pretty rough. How's the suspension travel on rougher roads? I used to have a nightster and it'd bottom out the suspension.

    • @pcontiman
      @pcontiman Год назад +1

      @@muskokamike127 mid control dyna is great for seating position. You will need to upgrade from stock shocks and preferably fork springs to get the ridge you want. The dyna is above the nightster in not bottoming out though. That part you get almost for free. Love the nightster but almost zero suspension

    Harley-Davidson used the Dynas as the test bed for the 6 speed transmission because at that time the Dyna lineup was the best-selling one they had. I worked at a Harley dealership in 2008 and asked the same question, and that's the answer I got.

    Ill have to say, for a bike with 22 thousand miles on it, it sure looks well taken care of. For all the time that youve been buying and selling bikes, there was only one in your entire Inventory that was less than what youd expect. You didnt like it either, Sean, It was so mickeyd up it wasnt funny. That was a long while back, that that one passed through , and im sure you just got rid of it and didnt even bother selling it. These bikes youre showing us now are like cream of the crop, well maintained, well ridden, well taken care of bikes! I can be assured any bike i would buy from you, Sean , its a keeper! This one, i like. Someone really took the trouble to make it nice too! HD put the six speed tranny into the Dyna first in order to test it in real world conditions. They didn’t want to put it in their top of the line machines and have problems show up tarnishing the image of their touring models. GM used to do the same thing. New technology would be tried out in Oldsmobile before being added to Cadillac.

    I bought a used 2002 Dyna low rider and it only had 12,000 miles on it. Thought I was getting a good deal. Turns out it was a completely neglected and unloved bike that needed an addition $2500 worth of work just to bring it up to condition where you can ride comfortably knowing it’s not going to breakdown yet again , and that is nearly at the point where you can say it rides well.
    So the moral of the story is, even a low mileage sweet LOOKING Harley could be a POS in disguise. Which mine was. $1600 in now and easily another $900 left. And that’s just this year. God knows what next year will bring .......
