I love how the end-- everything after the stall-- is the most aggressive and violent part of the ride. The back-to-back ejector pops are downright brutal when it's warmed up.
You're 100% right about the mosasaurus roll vs death roll. Two totally different inversions. MR is trying to throw you into the water. DR is zero G the whole way down. Also I would say VC's stall gets some hang time while IG's stall is zero G the whole way through.
Funny side note on the hand chopper mentioned at 15:49 . While I was riding yesterday I managed to actually hit the wooden support on the wave turn while in the right seat when I let my hands go a bit too far outwards. It only happened to me once out of around 50 rides I got so far, but still something to lookout for if any taller guests ride! The actual hit left my hand red for the rest of the day but luckily no actual permanent damage, mostly just shakes you mentally. Regardless, I still love it and plan on lapping this beast whenever I have time off from work and classes!
@@markcornish6393 Quick update: When I revisited Iron Gwazi this afternoon It appears that they have trimmed off the extra length of wood ( The 2 closest out of the 3 sticking up seen at 15:55 ) preventing any more clearance issues on the wave turn.
@@Num5119 An operator told me that some people broke their hands. Ouch. I'm always very trusting of rollercoasters b/c safety is always the top priority, so the fact errors like this still happen in this day and age is kind of scary.
I rode it Monday and all I can think about is my next day off to go ride again. Absolutely the best coaster I’ve ever been on - these are the life-changing moments that we enthusiasts dream of. I rode with several other enthusiasts - many of whom had 1000+ credits, and all of us had the same reaction after the ride - we were rendered speechless. I appreciate the immense detail you go into in this review. I hadn’t heard of your channel until now but I am subscribing and looking forward to digging into your content. Thanks for doing what you do! One more point I’d like to make: for those larger riders like myself (I am 6’1”, 275lbs), the restraints as you say are pretty tight. I couldn’t quite get the green light on the test seat and I was a little concerned, but the ride ops were happy to give me a push each ride and it didn’t take much to get the green light on the actual ride. I have been exercising for months anticipating getting on this ride after not being able to ride another RMC last year, so I was very happy that I made it. For those of you who are concerned about it I’d say that while it was certainly a tight fit and after 6-7 rides my thighs were a bit sore, it was 100% worth it and by no means painful - just intense. Airtime is my workout motivation and being an enthusiast keeps me trying my best to stay healthy!
I'm happy for you! I've been going to ride every weekend and I feel so bad every time someone has to take the walk of shame because they didn't fit. But props to the operators b/c they always try their best to get that green light for them.
Have ridden this masterpiece on over 30 occasions. It is absolutely relentless from start to finish. Most intense coaster in florida period. Still like steel vengeance better but only by a very small margin.
I got the honor of riding this over 50 times over the course of 3 days. I have been on every RMC in the US and this BLEW ME AWAY.. It feels like Wonder Woman but 206 ft tall, longer and with better elements. Steel Vengeance fans, you have legit competition. I can't choose, they are both so perfect but a LOT of people were saying this is better and I understand why. It doesn't have the length of SV, but it packs a ridiculous punch. Almost all the elements are better than SV. It is more intense. It feels MUCH faster. Steel Vengeance has that awesome inner structure part after the brake run though. Probably an unpopular opinion but that is my favorite part of the ride. It is disorienting, awe inspiring, and unique to me. On the other hand, EVERY second of Iron Gwazi is awe inspiring. It's a really tough call so ride it and judge for yoursel. Both are 11/10.
This is what I’ve been looking for. And I love that you left this up to people to decide for themselves. I’ve done SV too many times to count and finally going Wednesday to do IG. Very curious to see my thoughts after actually doing it!
@@cyrusexplores Congrats! Either way, you will have a great time, I'm sure of it. Keep in mind that the ride, much like SV and most other coasters is much better in the late day than early day so make sure you get an evening ride on it.
Wow they changed Gwazi from 2 wooden coasters to an iron coaster. I never knew that. I remember it being intense as a wooden coaster and I have a headache just watching this one. Lol I've never like coasters that have rolls with only a lap belt. I feel better to have shoulder harnests.
You mentioned fighter jets....did you know they model the track elements and lay out to mimic dog fights and also demonstration tactics like what the blue angels and thunderbird do.... That'd also how they can get a ball park of Gs as well on things.... I mean ppl that ride coasters would.live to take a ride in a jet....
I LOVED IT..WHAT A RUSH..MY BUTT LEFT THE SEAT MOST OF THE RIDE..Airtime was Incredible. Super fast and going from one extreme element to another was Mindblowing. An INTENSE, SuperFast. Coaster. A 10 out of 10.
Good video, but it was a bit too long!! And you need to show the ENTIRE ride from the front seat facing the ride, NOT facing YOU!!! There is wayyy toooo much of you & your friend on here & not enough showing us the ride!!!!!! And you talk tooo much!!!!! This could have been a nice short video, but you made it ridiculously long & added unnecessary content that was NOT relevant!!!
Well, these reviews are literally supposed to be in-depth, as it says in the title, to be a juxtaposition to the hundreds of other sub-ten minute reviews out there. While all of the information might not be relevant to you, someone else would surely ask about it. These videos are meant to cover nearly everything involving the rides & if you just would like to see my thoughts or ratings, skipping to that part in the video is always an option. Regardless, thanks so much for your suggestions & for watching! :)
Make sure to help us rank every ride at Universal's Islands of Adventure! forms.gle/92Wt8KuopEU3nBmo6
Cat in the Hat FTW
Can’t wait
By the way, I've talked with some of the staff of the coaster. On a good hot day, the coaster can go up to 83 mph.
IG was my first RCM. A dream I proudly say came true as I live in Brazil and We have NO decent rollercoasters. Sadly
I love how the end-- everything after the stall-- is the most aggressive and violent part of the ride. The back-to-back ejector pops are downright brutal when it's warmed up.
Dude, you got the best on ride footage of iron Gwazi I’ve seen so far.
Totally. People are sleeping on this video. The best IG video on youtube by far!
I rode this last weekend. A back seat night ride is Busch Gardens Tampa’s best kept secret! 🤩
0:35 - That's me in the front row! Holy hairtime, Batman! 5:46 - there I am again, waving. LOL!

I worry about this, I'm 6'5 with really long limbs...

At 5:53, was that ElToroRyan and AmusementInsider in the back row (I think he was recording his backwards POV)? Great video btw, loved it!
It sure is! Thank you!
with how many other youtubers there are making cameos, this is like the coaster community cross over event I didn't know I needed.
I went last week and I felt star struck by all the youtubers I saw!!
@@rlynch1980 I sat on a train with theme park worldwide the other day on it
Back row night ride is an out of body experience
So proud and happy to have this thing 20 minutes from my house
Same my man
Same!
My grandparents live like 25 minutes away it’s awesome
You know what’s cool. You can see old footers from the original gwazi on the ground! Which is such a cool little Easter egg!
Im sooo glad this is my home park!!
Really nice review! I'm going to Islands of Adventure + Busch Gardens Tampa in May! Will be trying out VelociCoaster as well as this one.
I was just missing this ride so much, and then this sweet long upload shows up 🥴 love it man we always appreciate the detail!!
0:00 what is that wet noise
Goat nails I think? It’s some sort of shaker type instrument in the song I used!

2:46 4,075ft is not 1,358m. It should be 1,242m. 😀

Btw, a “death roll” is what crocs do to kill their prey (in case you didn’t know)! 🐊 Lol! Didn’t realize Drew just mentioned that…
So from what I am hearing if you don't want to get air time, the "feeling of being flung" and just a milder ride, you want to ride in the middle
Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is my home theme park
No the death roll IS the best moment on any coaster I've ridden.
Love the ride. The only thing I was really able to think afterwards was the intensity compared to the rest of the park.
i made a video about it already im going down to florida in july and then to texas in september

I'll be over on the Merry go Round
Its so weird that florida gets two amazing coasters where the zero g stall is kinda the lackluster element. We yet to have a solid one in the state...
First comment love your videos
Thanks so much!
@@ParksBros your welcome
have you seen the official emperor pov? 10/10
I'll actually be posting it tomorrow lol! The park sent it to me last night!
This ride look epic but how does this ride compare to steel vengeance and twisted colossus
I'd say watch the rest of the review to give you a better idea!
I think it's a fantastic coaster, but each do things better than the other, and so it is ultimately up to what you prefer in roller coasters.
Can anyone ride this ride now?
Yup!
Is it as intense as say I305
I wouldn't know
Is this your number one
Love the video and I started my RUclips channel and want some ideas for videos and I go to Florida with Michael to see his mom
Hm, a little sus that you posted this the DAY AFTER i posted mine... I'm not saying you copied me, but I am saying you copied me
If the ride is going to throw u out of your seat 💺 were ever u sit thats a no no for me one to miss.
It’s 450° not 540°. Still a good vid tho
