Jason Johnston Would you like a voice over on the virtuse of how and why you should stay away from people who like to bitch??? Walmart has some self awareness pills in the pharmacy section ya know.
The 2 most common methods of building or replacing a boat ramp is to either build the slab and push/slide it into the water or to build a cofferdam and pour the slab in place. If using the former method, it is essential to ensure that the grade is consistent or the slab will break.
I like the part where the music came on. I started dancing around and spinning and i jumped up on the table and then more music came on and i danced and then i stopped dancing when the music stopped.
That's exactly how they put them in at the Sprocket factory but the professional boat ramp dorks put in preformed 16"X4"X10' concrete blocks on top of 3" crushed rock.
I'm confused too and have 0 knowledge. Would the area submerged need to be finished? Does that make it more resilient??? Idk why I'm asking .. I'll never own a boat 🤷 12k + where im at for something that may sink 10 minutes into your first ride 🤣
Been to my share of ramps that were short. Wheels drop over the edge and you can be f'd. Not talking about lakes or rivers that have run dry but just some ding bat who put in a short ramp. Frustrating.
This guy isn't explaining or demonstrating how it's done. He's not even the contractor. He's just watching and decided to show us what it looks like to watch a dock being made from his view. Did you want uninformed commentary from a guy that's not in the industry? I didn't think so.
Funny how Meerkans still use a piece of wood to smooth out. Watch European or Asian concrete crews. They have special tools for that- no bending over or getting on your knees. Work Smarter not harder Meerka!
Since that was salt water the concrete should have known better to keep the water out while the rebar was down and no concrete poured yet because he has just started concrete cancer and rust in the rebar.
Corey Dark rebar comes rusted. Have you ever worked a day in your life???? If rust was a concern, stainless rebar, or green coated rebar would have been used.. Think before you comment, or don't comment at all... Thanks bye
You need oxygen also for corrosion to occur. The re-bar is fully encased in concrete. The concrete will probably need replaced before the re-bar corrodes apart.
FYI... if you're going to talk into the camera please look at the lens not the display screen. Nothing more disengaging than listening to someone looking at their reflection the entire time. Don't be that girl.
brian stuart you're a fucking moron and the company you work for sounds fucking idiotic. What reputable concrete company doesn't use rebar for concrete that will carry a heavy load. Fuck off man
I have wondered for years how this was done. Thank you for recording and posting this video.
This is the proper way to build a ramp. The whole pouring it and push it in seems un professional. Great work 💪
Hey.....that was pretty cool.............Thanks for posting!
Thank you for sharing this video. Answered so many questions
Thank you for taking the time to film an post it. Please post a picture or short without the sheet pile and maybe with a boat trailer.
That Dam is no joke.
Thank you for this, I was always curious.
That was cool, thanks for taking the time to film it.
Great video, but the music?
Jason Johnston Agree Obnoxious soundtrack not required!
thats why they make a mute button.
Thanks for the video......and the music!

Jason Johnston 60s Cali surf vibe
Too bad this music

I wish we had decent boat ramps in Delaware.
Don't like Bowers Beach boat ramps?
I've seen 20' x 20' slabs poured dryed and pushed into a lake one by one with a d6 dozer .
sounds a little more interesting to me.
that' s I've done it too
I like the part where the music came on. I started dancing around and spinning and i jumped up on the table and then more music came on and i danced and then i stopped dancing when the music stopped.
You are a pretty cool dr!
lol
Great video thanks
But my question is don’t need need longer time to dry before water too cues it? Concrete is t waterproof?
Thumbs up from Toledo, OH. It was fun and interesting to watch.
damn that's a skinny boat ramp
It was a private yacht club
Wow, they must have tiny yachts. I'd have trouble backing down my 16 foot boat with a 7 foot beam. Yup, I'm not the best at doing that.
Keeps the fucktards that can't back trailers away. 👍
Great Video!
What sak mix did you use?
Guy came along and showed the others how to use a rake.
How much does a job like this cost?
sir can i know the tilt of that ramp?
Approximately, how much did it cost, with permits, tax and everything else?
I wondered how they did that another great video
A lot of RUclips video making experts commenting on the music and intro while driving.
Very nice......hard work.
That's exactly how they put them in at the Sprocket factory but the professional boat ramp dorks put in preformed 16"X4"X10' concrete blocks on top of 3" crushed rock.
cool work guys
Where is the concrete coming from ? Don't see the truck
Precast with a saw tooth surface would be better. Perhaps hollow and floated in then pumped full of sand slurry to sink it slowly.. thanks.
Agreed. The coffer dam material & labor istallation alone, cost more than the loads of concrete & both type pumps. 52918
I am seeing rock or aggregate under the rebars. I guess that is mainly to level the slope. I am wondering if it is a good idea to use sand instead.
I have also seen them poured up on the parking lot and pushed into the water once they had cured.
U missed the final product. I would have liked to see it without the dam dam.
Ha ha, you've been wating to use that pun!
salt water? rebar?
Nice resuLts! Why did the water return while the ramp remained shored?
The shoring was not completely water tight so they stop the pumps and it filled in in a couple hours
Nobody uses area codes anymore 😂👍
How did they joint finish the low bottom end of that ramp with a joint tool with poles like that?
I'm confused too and have 0 knowledge. Would the area submerged need to be finished? Does that make it more resilient??? Idk why I'm asking .. I'll never own a boat 🤷 12k + where im at for something that may sink 10 minutes into your first ride 🤣
Good video.

Nice Job , Only thing I would have done different was to use an overhead concrete pump , Avoid all that hose dragging .
Was that re-enfocement steel grid left at the bottom of the pour? I doesn't like they used stand offs or attenpted to pull it up during the pour?
cool. thx
Like so many RUclips videos, you took an interesting and informative video, and ruined it with loud obnoxious music.
I watch the whole thing on mute and I was like damn thats a sweet video. Then I saw your comment. holy crap thats obnoxious.
Well what was he suppose to do then? the video was in timelapse, id rather music then no music, if you dont like it, put the video on mute.
Loved the video and the music 🐟👍
Awful music, just do a voice over! Like Odell does
Dave Adding an obnoxious soundtrack not required!

I love that Music !!!
Awesome Video!!
Music junked video
It did not look dry to me when they let the water back in???????????????
It is NOT dry old time. Concrete takes MONTHS to cure.
Concrete takes 36 to 38 years to go through all the chemical processes to be completely cured.
next week:watching paint dry!
Lovely
What makes JELLO HARD ????...SHOULD BE THE NEXT VIDEO..
then how does paint dry
Lady Jello lookin' real sexy
Been wondering how they did this for years! Cool video thank u
Ok. Now i know!
honestly ?? this is the HARD way !
i'm sorry... this is NOT how to do this !
Nice job
why smooth it out if your gonna cut lines into it anyway
Why do people that make these videos feel the need to have music included.
They think you know how to use a volume control.
Funny how Meerkans still use a piece of wood to smooth out. Watch European or Asian concrete crews. They have special tools for that- no bending over or getting on your knees. Work Smarter not harder Meerka!
Funny how idiots like you (Paul) know nothing about concrete work yet spew stupidity all over the page.
I do not see how it is funny (Paul) is it more practical for them to use a special tool over a 2x4. It dident look like they were working to hard.
Nice job guys
In Minnesota the DNR just sets precast blocks on a prepared lake bottom. If the ice moves them, just put them back.
B Laquisha, do you think that there is ice on the Treasure Coast?
Patrick EH There is here, feet of it.
Nice
Knepper construction means fucking construction in Denmark...

And ro add more, concrete is mixed with water....bet you didnt even know that either!!
You need oxygen also for corrosion to occur. The re-bar is fully encased in concrete. The concrete will probably need replaced before the re-bar corrodes apart.
Corey Dark Yup. Should have used epoxy coated rebar and vibrated it in like they do highways.
It's okay to NOT look at the camera, while driving.
THUMBS DOWN! Added an unnecessary and obnoxious soundtrack! No need! Arrogant sound person! MUTE ALERT!
FYI... if you're going to talk into the camera please look at the lens not the display screen. Nothing more disengaging than listening to someone looking at their reflection the entire time. Don't be that girl.
You lost me at Johnny Be Good ... awful music.
Seems like a waste of time. Most docks I’ve seen built are poored above shoreline and pushed into the water with a bulldozer.
brian stuart you're a fucking moron and the company you work for sounds fucking idiotic. What reputable concrete company doesn't use rebar for concrete that will carry a heavy load. Fuck off man
So you're pushing a 6inch thick by what 50ft of concrete with a bull dozer Hahhaahah get the fuck out of here
RAIDER FAN search “largest boat ramp built in Kentucky” for an example.
@@RHEC1776 Idiot, you have no clue
