Top Gear is wrong. Trackhawk has more than 700 hp and came before the 707 Aston.

Aston martin said this is the most powerful LUXURY suv. The jeep grand Cherokee trackhawk, the dodge durango srt hellcat and the tesla model x are not luxury cars. Also the first 2 are not sold in the UK or EU.

@@akiravecchi8426 All they need is to sell it, the USP is that it's an SUV with a Ferrari badge on it. I am sure they'll have a 200mph mode or something like that if they can but the fact that it's a Ferrari SUV is enough.
@@ekgcanadianenthusiast9961 Ferrari doesn't need to make an SUV at all and given how they've always been a sports/supercar manufacturer for the past 60-70 years and are showing no signs of slowing down they won't be like Aston Martin in the early 2000's
besides this SUV fad is going to die off fairly soon so they don't need to make one anywhere that's not where their area of expertise is anyway

It has over 1000 horse powers. Reality distortion is really strong.
The Durango Hellcat had 710 HP. It was once the second fastest SUV behind the Model X Plaid. Só Aston was not the first brand that made a production 700+ HP SUV.
IMO, the world's fastest production SUV came from the US...it's called the Dodge Durango Hellcat. 710HP and a 0-60 of about 3 seconds. The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk had the exact same HP and 0-60 from 4 years ago. So while this is fast, it's probably just the fastest European SUV...until BMW decides to make the XM concept a production model.
Fast doesn't mean acceleration, it means top speed

There have been 3 SUVs with more than 700hp before this: Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk(2018) , Dodge Durango(2021) and the Tesla Models Plaid(2022). By the way it has 697. However I think it looks really good and will actually be the fastest suv.

the number of cars as extravagant and expensive like this that came out in recent years is a good indicator there are many people who are getting filthy rich and are running out of ways to burn through all that cash

When prestigious brands sell out to popular SUV trends, it ends up cheapening the brand. Once you start seeing them regularly especially.
That's exactly what happened to Porsche when they released the Cheyenne.
Yes it's an obnoxious trend but sadly that's what sells. Also you mention the cayenne and yes it was gopping, but without it we probably wouldn't have the 911 or the cayman

The Cayman is not related in any way to the SUV, it was a marketing exercise to make a model as a stopgap between the Boxster and 911. You're probably referring to the Macan, another even more dire SUV "Porsche".
@@ParallelSyntax hate them all you want (I'm not a fan either and I want more estates) but without them selling like hot cakes porsche wouldn't have the money to develop the actually interesting stuff like the 911 and the cayman or even be as active in racing as they are. This is the same. Thanks to the DBX Aston can afford to put more money into projects like the V12 Vantage, the Valhalla and the Valkyrie

Well. They could have gone with the most powerful suv AND hybrid. Or even electric. If they cared, instead of going for bigger turbos, they could have gone for a battery pack, but guess they just gone to the "hold my beer" approach.

Either this review was recorded before the model x plaid was being delivered to customers or top gear has lost their touch of factual statements, or this is part of their embargo with Austin Martin.
Don't forget the Trackhawk from 2018. This DBX707 was not the first suv with over 700hp

Well I used to own 2 Aston Martins and gave my DBS to my son as a present for getting into Cambridge and he still has it 50 years or more later. My other was a beautiful 4 door Lagonda , so beautiful only a handful were made. But now I have to own a new a DBX! It looks and seems fab!!!!! How do I get one, Please. David G.

Sorry, I made mistake. Son owned it for now 35 years. And although my bones feel like I am 90 years I am only 84. But the AMX is first AM since I owned AM Lagonda that I really want to have! As AM headquarters is only a few miles from me I am arranging test drive shortly. I must own one I think.

I have mixed feelings about this, on one hand, more exterior bits would be welcome, but you can argue they made the right decision to not go crazy and ruin the looks of the DBX. Some video presenters have noticed a slight lack of power in the current DBX, maybe they were saving it for this car. I hope it has what it takes to hold its own against a Cayenne Turbo GT. To all those complaining about the Jeep Cherokee Trackhawk, everyone makes mistakes. Aston Martin probably forgot and these guys are presenting off marketing material.

Watch it get bitchslapped by absolutely everything in it's class. It may have more power on paper, but we know that all of the germans and the Urus have extremely underrated power figures. An X5 M, a Cayenne Turbo GT and a Urus will all walk this.
One of the best SUVs made in Britain hopefully they will sell well. Thanks to the ex-Lotus chassis expert Matt Becker who joined Aston in 2015.

It AVERAGES 14liter/100km and over 300g CO2 for each kilometer. So about as bad as you can get.
I don´t even wanna imagine how much fuel it burns when you actually drive 300kp/h with it... 😅

talked with my Aston dealer (they sell other premium brands as well but is the only primary dealer for canada). apparently these barely sell. STill has stock even in today's shortage. BUT apparently it still saved Aston. Otherwise it'd be a faster sinking ship that it is right now even haha

Im not the biggest fan of Suv’s but Aston did an amazing job to design the Dbx and the 707 version is now the best looking SUV on the market right now in my opinion.

Here in Germany especially in Frankfurt and Munich i've seen more Lamborghini Urus than DBX so far, i don't understand why but considering that Aston Martin are pretty popular in both Cities and Areas around it (I can't drive through either City without either seeing a new or old Vantage as well as DBS & DB11s, but DBX? very rare in comparison, which is strange considering that the DBX is their bestseller apparenly
Here in the US you see neither unless you live in California or Miami etc.
Here where I live you will meet Raptors, TRXs, Durango Hellcats and Jeep Trackhawks with the occasional X6M

Yeah, luckily US Cars now become more common here, a few years ago you pretty much had to import one, which a lot of people did, or you buy one from an US Soldier stationed in Germany.
We got quite the US Car Communities but seeing a Corvette is still more rare than seeing a Lamborghini or Ferrari, that might change now with them being offered eu-spec at Dealers here.
There is a great Video showing some of the US Cars that Owners even race at the Nürburgring regularly.
Just youtube: "Nurburgring America Special 2020- Corvette, SRT8, Viper, Cadillac Etc".
It's great to see US Cars you had to import and pay extra to get them here become a more common sight on the Nürburgring Weekend "Touristenfahrten". (thats when everyone can just race on there with whatever car)
