Thank you SO much for sharing this! I'm hoping to join this fall and I'm getting nervous, this really helped clarify a lot of things. I have heard some negative things about work culture in SK with superiors being particularly harsh on new people, I wondered if you'd ever experienced this/ how much of an issue it is.

Hi! I’m so glad this video was helpful! I (thankfully) have not had any difficulties with superiors while working here!! My best advice though if this were to happen is that commutation is key especially while working in a different country with a foreign language! Most of the incidences I have either experienced, or heard about have stemmed from some form of miscommunication which lead to confusion! So communicating as clearly and openly as possible, I think is extremely helpful!

If you major in education do you still need your TEFL? I’m triple double majoring and having a minor. With the combination being Korean, Education, and Psychology. Depending on the college and programs is which I’m majoring in and the exact name of the major.

    great video.
quick question - i’ve seen people say that you don’t need a tefl certificate as long as you have a college degree in anything. is the tefl unique to epik? do you know if the tefl certificate is needed through any recruiter or does it depend? thanks!

Thank you! And for EPIK you do need a TEFL plus a college degree to get accepted, but you can be in the process of getting your TEFL when you start the application process! I’m not sure about other opportunities teaching English abroad, but it is a requirement for Korea!

You also get paid at least million of won a month, so you can technically say you’re a millionaire LOL

God I wish my nearest grocery store was 3/4 of a mile 😂 In my current placement in Japan, my nearest is 1.18miles, and the cheaper one I prefer shopping at is 1.36 🥲
