I can't thank you enough for your videos. Your videos have been my favorite to watch and make me so excited for the next chapter of my life as an EPIK teacher :)
One suggestion I love to give is the first time the kids listen is to just ask what they heard. It will get your lower speaking students involved easier.
thank you so much for uploading this, I applied for EPIK for the fall and your videos have been SO helpful to help calm my worries and answer my questions for what to expect
Hi, Courney. I appreciate the advice. I'm curious if we just make our own slidshows on our own thumbdrives and can take them home and work on them? Do they perfer powerpoint or canva or is it just up to us? I want to start getting the presentations ready now for all age types so I'm already ready to go wherever they send me.
Hi! Great questions! You can definitely make your own slideshows that you can work on at home! When it comes to preferences regarding formatting, presentation style, and games that will look different for each school. I think it’s fantastic to be prepared but it’s worth keeping in mind that you won’t fully understand your role in the classroom (games only teacher, just textbook, both, etc.) until after you are assigned to your co-teacher! Going alongside that, how many schools and co-teachers you will be working with are also contributing factors to what they expect from you. So unfortunately, you won’t be able to know those details until placement! But it’s great to have any materials prepped and ready to go if you can!!

I don't teach from a textbook at all but I swear having this video before I started would've been a game changer
