I have never seen a bolt on lid. There are a lids on amazon though,,, they just sit on it for storage, not for cooking under. I believe blackstone has a new unit that has an air fryer and a cover you cook under.

HI Jim, We actually do potaotes a bunch of different ways and had success. If you cut them small enough you can go from raw to the griddle, They take a pretty long time to cook this way so it's slow and low while keeping an eye on em. Jeff often times will microwave the full potatoe for a few min to get the inside started cooking, then slice it in half and finish it on the griddle. Personally I like to bake my potatoes the night before, then chunk them up the next morning and crispt them up on the griddle. If you check out this video ruclips.net/video/oeHX3hOPZxY/видео.html you can see what I mean. hope this helps! -N

My mouth watered all the way thru. One question, when you flipped I noticed you placed on a clean spot, rather than then the same place. Is there a reason?
