Incredible tenor maybe for your standards. I don't know what they are but he doesn't have a single note that it's solid and stable. His voice trembles and wobbles and he has a hard time on the easiest passaggio. I think he should probably change maestro or technique.
@@paragod333 YOU SHOULDN`T NEED TO SING TO KNOW ABOUT SINGING.... THAT SHOWS YOUR LACK OF KNOWLEDGE ABOUT IT.... THE COMMENTARY DIDN`T ATTACK THE TENOR....IT ONLY REMARKED SOMETHING TECHNICAL.
@@clarkepaul837 My comment was directed at Sr Tabacaria who was very technical and didn't like one note of the tenor. That's just out and out silly. That's why I questioned his knowledge (which is very faulty).
It is not what we can call a beautyfull interpretation he opens too much the mouth and they let feelings be above the good singing so it is a disaster and a complete destruction of this wonderfull Puccini's Aria
The ROH continues to waste tax payers money. They had an excellent production of this opera and didn’t need to waste subsidy on this replacement. Post Covid-19 is going to be tough and maybe the exchequer will be looking at ways to cut subsidies?
@@AllieB-11.11 I agree with you, but a tenor need to be confident and solid when singing. Not a note he's taking is clear, solid and stable. I don't think the voice would be that bad, but his technique is not good at all.
@@alvarodecampostabacaria4223 I have no idea of what you mean by solid, confident and stable when it comes to technique, and I doubt that you do either.
@@paragod333 what you assume is not my problem , as to assume I don't know what I'm saying is somehow an arrogant and silly comment. His notes are trembling and wobbling. This happens when tenors don't have a solid knowledge of how to use their vocal instrument,or their technique is not a right one. If this is not clear we can converse in Italian, since this is an Italian art.
Michael Fabiano and Nicole Car are far superior in this ROH production. Their performance is charming and mellifluous. Yoncheva keeps going off pitch and sounds strident and clashes audibly with Castronovo, whose style is....meh.
@@paragod333 I suggest you get a tiny bit of extra knowledge on the opera subject, widen up your horizons and only when you have a clear picture write comments. You talk as if this piece of aria is good or nearly perfectly performed, and this shows how partial your knowledge is. Listen to opera from the first recordings up to the 50s,and then so on until nowadays and maybe you get a better understanding of Italian composers and how they should be interpreted. I'm sure you're an open minded gentleman with a thirst for knowledge.
I'm so sorry that I haven't the time to waste responding to you in Italian, Spanish, French or Farsi which is my second language (really first). I have been going to (and working at) the Met since the early fifties and heard my share of great tenors. IMO, one of the most romantic scenes in opera history. Thank you, Giacomo Puccini, Sonya, Charles, and ROH!
Just come across this tenor. He is superb, one of the best
Beautifu voices! Bravo! Bravo both!
Goosebumps Guaranteed 📣📣📣📣
Bravissimi!!!!!! Infiniti applausi!!!!!!!

Great Castronovo. Much better this Boheme than the one streamed from Munich with Kaufmann as Rodolfo.
Bravissimi
Beautiful.
Wowzers

Please upload this to the channel!!!!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
En vivo, creo que esa escenografía interfiere con la óptima expansión de las voces.

Castronovo is a spitting image of Lin-Manuel Miranda. It's slightly spooky... Incredible tenor though.

You must. Be blind. He’s handsomer! And an excellent tenor.

Tous les deux trop tôt dans les rôles de mimi et rodolfo ! Il y a des passages jolis ... mais manquent de stabilité vocale !

He is good, but Yoncheva eats him alive xD.
🎼, like she did as medee 🤭 but they sound brilliant together ✨🖤✨, 🐧

Not everything can live up to a classic performance - there's usually something to admire about each one.
