Shoofly. Churn Dash. Monkey Wrench. This trio of antique quilt patterns has been cherished for generations. They're nearly identical-made with half-square triangles and simple squares or bars-and we love 'em all!
This week, Jenny is stitching up a pretty Monkey Wrench with Buttercup charm packs by Windham Fabrics. She tidies each block with her Clearly Perfect Slotted Trimmer. And when they're all sewn together, a secondary Monkey Wrench block appears like magic!

Their website doesn’t have ads on the tutorials. I got so sick of the awful YT ads on all the channels I finally signed up for Premium and the “no ads” feature is $3.22 a month. As much as I watch tutorials and YT in general. It’s more than worth it.

@@nonya.bizness The ads create revenue for RUclips. The video creators don’t have much control over the ads. It used to be that the creator could refuse to have ads if their channel wasn’t monetized, but I believe that changed recently.

Darling quilt. When my mother decided to start quilting again late in life (she hadn’t quilted since she was a girl) she made a quilt called Monkey Wrench but the block was very different, more like a Snail’s Trail block. We hand quilted it (my introduction to quilting) and she gave it to me as a wedding gift. I still have it almost 50 years later, very worn & faded but still treasured. I’m curious about the different patterns with the same name.

Good morning, I love to start my Friday with Jenny and a cup of tea. I always loved the traditional blocks most and this is a great example. But because I'm not so much "in" small blocks I would use Layer Cakes and for the sashing 2,5" stripes. For the sashing I would use the stripe piecing method it's not that time consuming. Thank you for this great tutorial, many greetings and a wonderful weekend to everybody ❤
