One of the cutest blocks. I'm grateful you teach that every brain works/thinks different. That has helped so much. Thanks for simplifying things. Luv your videos from Carolyn not Mike
I agree Lisa Ann! Who needs sleep! Every Thursday night I am up late so that I can catch the new video!! My husband just laughs and says, "See you in the morning! I just love all the videos and the MSQC family. Trying to work out a trip to visit sometime in May!!! Can not wait!!
thank you for this tutorial and all of the others you have done! I am 73 and just started quilting 1 year ago (a bucket list item) I love it! my sewing machine is 42 years old so the actuql quilting is a challenge again thank you for all you are doing for the quilting world
Such a great idea!! I have 2 red white and blue jelly rolls and and some patriotic yardage. Been trying to figure out the perfect pattern for them. THANKYOU!! Reminds me of childhood, we always had pinwheels to blow on and play with along with our flags on patriotic holidays. 💖💜👍
I've noticed the "what you'll need" portions of videos lately have been changing. Whoever thought of this on, it's the absolute best. I hope this format is used on ALL videos going forward - It shows the traditional list on the white background for a moment, then Jenny lays out each item so you know exactly what is used where (no more wondering what yardage is border vs background!). Seriously, whoever formatted this one needs a pay on the back, it's perfect.
I showed my roommates how to make this easy pillowcase when I was at a retreat at MSQC in November 2017!! One of the best vacations of my life!!!❤️❤️❤️
Another beautiful creation! Thanks for the time breakdowns on the different steps. So helpful for referencing again. Was great to see you and Ron making a guest appearance on your friends' RUclips video while camping in your RV!! Love that you had your featherweight with you!
That’s what I’ve known them as too. I prefer to do the French seam just because there are no raw edges anywhere. It’s just 1 little extra step but does make a better finish.
Wow Jenny, I loved this video! I know many of your followers are experienced sewers but for us that are not it was great you showing us this step by step tutorial. I have learned so much from watching your channel. Thank you for all of your instruction videos. Have a great weekend!
Thank you for adding the info about the backing. This is one of the “quilting mysteries” for me-piece the backing or search for a wide backing that will work!
I use decorative stitching across the flange to hold it down... this helps keep the case looking nice after washing! And I also use French seams! No fraying!!!
I agree with French seams. I also sew down the flange with a straight stitch almost kissing the edge: it looks so professional, and stays flat so you don’t need to iron the pillowcases- just fold right out of the dryer. Nice and smooth.
I enjoyed having the kids make pillowcases during summer camp! Because there were many kids, I reserved this project for Grade 4 and up. The older kids really like a project that is "more advanced" than what the younger kids. are doing.
Thank you for the wonderful tutorial! Also, I am glad to see the old "Here's what you need" screen back - I find it easier to follow :) Beautiful work as always!
Great quilt, and a great pillowcase too! Love the bright and happy fabric, love the clever checkerboard sashing, and that's a pretty tricky pillowcase technique. Nice!
Love this quilt and I'm so glad you showed us how to make the pillowcase. I will make it bigger by using a layer cake and cutting it in fourths and make two pillowcases for my granddaughter. Love those fabrics.
I made my grandchildren some snowman pillowcases like that in early December, and they are still using them. It’s nice when someone appreciates your work, but I was just thinking that this granny needs to make some for spring and summer! I think it is worth taking the extra few minutes, though, to do a French seam to make it neat and today and to prevent fraying.
Hello from Herefordshire in England, Enjoying all your tutorials thank you Jenny, keeping us all going in these times I can’t wait to come and visit MSQC in Hamilton , love to you all!
Check an older tutorial, she’s done one before but I don’t remember if she used a French seam. It is just putting the body of the case wrong sides together first and sewing a scant quarter inch seam then turning it out with right sides together like she showed and sewing a 3/8 inch seam. Turn it back out, press and you are finished. The first time I sewed one it really seemed weird to put the wrong sides together first! I’ve taught 4-H groups and the Moms or Grandmothers give me really weird looks too if they’ve never made one but then when they turn them out when it’s sewn the last time they really like the enclosed seam.
Jenny you looked so pretty today. Thank you for the pattern. I love it. I want sure about block A and B being opposite in the sashing until you showed the layout and then "bang" it made sense.
Love the quilt and pillowcase! The fabric is so cute. I have made several pillowcases for my grandkids, using the "burrito method" and French seams. They turned out very cute. Thanks for another great tutorial!
Oh. My favorite color palette
11pm time for bed...ooh! Brand new video, who needs sleep anyway?!?
My thought exactly!😂🤣😂
Midnight at my place 🙈
I watched at 3:00 am after sewing in my sewing room for several hours. Thank you, Jenny!
I love making these pillow cases. I do French seam them because I don't like the raveling. Lovely little quilt I love it! Jenny is the bomb!

Highlight of Fridays is looking at a new MSQC tutorial. 😎
Love this quilt pattern.
Jenny you are a genius...... I tried this and it worked perfectly....thanks for sharing...
Such a cute quilt. Now I know how I will use my packs of five inch squares!
And as precuts are in short supply in my town, also can cut up 10 inch layer cakes to get similar results
Loved this. Making this week
Pillow cases as gift bags---reusable and fun way to wrap gifts.

Great idea!!
I like the way you laid out all the tools and fabric first; also showing a finished block in the beginning is a big help.
I thought the same thing. Nice addition to the video

Thank you Doan family.
I really like the Pinwheel Frolic Pattern. This is so pretty
I wish I liked pinwheels. Your quilt colors are happy spring colors. Bless you and your family and of course the MSQC crew.
Wow! You are looking good. Svelte! And the quilt is pretty, too!
Absolutely, please continue to do this!
Love that pillowcase cover!
Jenny, Natalie, Misty and Liz I love you ladies. Jenny I don't think I could sew as fast as you. I love MSQC

I like seeing the pillowcase part too. Oh my 🙂🤗🤩😀🙂
I have always known this method as the burrito pillow case...love them
That’s what I’ve known them as too. I prefer to do the French seam just because there are no raw edges anywhere. It’s just 1 little extra step but does make a better finish.
I was thinking it looks like sewing a sausage
I have never seen this technique before! Amazing that it worked! 😂
I love making pillow cases this way. I was teaching children at Joanns for 5 years and this is how I taught them.
The pillow case looks so easy! Thank you for the tutorial.
This is such a happy looking quilt. Thanks for the instructions
Loved the pillowcase method!!! Most amazing one that I have ever seen!
Such A Very Happy Fabric Line!! And of Course Another Winner!!
Pillowcase like x10000s love the quilt too
Love the new way of displaying the requirements for the quilt. Another great project, thanks Jenny.

That's exactly what I thought, to use a French seam 👍
Oh I like the decorative seam across the flange , great idea !
@@penny9157 I let my grandkids choose which decorative stitch they want, and we work together to complete the project.... it's fun!
That’s such a good idea! I always Press my cases after they are washed to flatten the flange.

The colors and pattern are so adorable for a light quilt. Intended for the spring and ‘in-cold’ months. Happy sewing!

And the Frolic Quilt layout makes little multi-directional arrows, too! So pretty and your directions are so well done. Thank you!
Beautiful fabrics and fun pattern again, Jenny. I think you are so talented. You make everything look so easy...which is the sign of a pro.

Wow! There are endless possibilities with pinwheels! I love who this looks! Thanks, Jenny!
