Let's all take a moment to appreciate Jenny's awesome style of teaching everyone to Quilt!!!! Young and old alike have learned so much from Jenny and the MSQC Family since 2009 when the tutorials first began.
Jenny's method of explaining things is so amazing, even the beginner quilter who knows little about sewing could learn to quilt from Jenny!!!
Like a video I watched a few years ago that features her son Alan talking about MSQC and how it started, etc. Jenny has this uncanny ability to make you feel you can do anything you set your mind to.
As Alan reminisced about his childhood & his mom and talking about moving to Hamilton and making a garden as kids it was readily apparent that Jenny had the amazing skill to teach others even way back then as a young mom of 7 children. According to Alan, Jenny told the kids they could be "Great Gardeners" and of course they were!!!!!
All kids growing up need parents like Jenny for sure and ALL of us who quilt and love Jenny (and her family) need her quilting skills for sure as well.
Thank you, Jenny, and all those who make MSQC what it is. We love you, and appreciate you more than words can say!
    Love this tutorial, Jenny!

I bought a sewing machine because I had kids that needed alterations. I started quilting because of Jennny. She made quilting approachable. Two sewing machines later I have quite the WIP pile and my kids love their special quilts.

@@kristine146 My hubby bought me a sewing machine when I was pregnant for our 2nd child (and our only daughter) for my B-day that year. I thought he had lost his mind because I didn't know how to even thread the machine. His mom had made shirts & PJ's for him as a child and he looked back on that time fondly of course. Believe it or not, we were living in another state when I was given the sewing machine (hubs was in college) and he suggested I call my MIL and he was positive she could teach me to sew! We went home that weekend and she took me to the fabric store and taught me a lot about fabrics and other things, how to work the sewing machine, etc.. When I would get stuck on something after our daughter was born I'd call my MIL and she'd be able to tell me what to do etc. to get the garment finished. I went on to make ALL of my daughter's clothing and our son's (we have 4 kids) shirts & PJ's over the years. (I normally don't make men's/boy's pants with zippers though)
I started making Easter Dresses and shirts for homeless children in our county several years ago. I stopped a few years ago due to illness though.
I found Jenny by accident while surfing RUclips in 2011....10 YRS WOW .....I love Jenny, Natalie & Misty I watch all of their videos for sure.

    Hi,
I'm a new quilter so I have a couple of questions. First. I thought as a general rule we are supposed to cut off the dog ears on the HST. Second, is there a method of picking which square you choose to use in the flip. Last question, do you use the same color thread throughout the entire quilt or do you change as each part of the quilt. I'm thinking about the areas .of all white fabric -vs- the colored squares. Thank you.
