  • This was my first-ever time fishing the south basin of Lake of the Woods in open water. It was a fun learning experience and I was able to put a number of walleyes in the net.

    Would really like to see a live video using your main engine while scanning with your trolling motor. Might be just the ticket for the tiller guys and a pole mount transducer. Any how, thanks for the content again, great job !

      Didn't run into any smallmouth. We caught a nice mess of walleyes though. Good size, too, of course!

    Another epic video. I've really enjoyed watching these this summer. It's my first in my own boat, strictly targeting walleye all Summer. I've had a bunch of really good success getting the 14s, 15s, 18s, 19s on my local lake. I know there has to be bigger ones, but I'm struggling to find them and target them. I'd love to hear you talk about how to work your jig and minnow, jig and eyecandy, jig and crawler presentations when they are suspended? Do you let it fall to the bottom and work it back up?

    • @NickLindner
      @NickLindner  5 месяцев назад

      You can let it fall to the bottom, and let them eat it off the bottom if the follow it down. But I like to pop it above them, like I did in this video.

      "That ain't fishing"
      .... LOL, you're right. I was obviously knitting.
      "Those fish will not survive coming out of 30’."
      .... Most of the fish were suspended in this video, but even fish eating off the bottom will likely be fine.
      "Sad the lake is not healthy."
      .... Just because you can't catch 'em doesn't mean the fishery sucks!

      @@Mike-xi4zt why is it stupid? The fish don’t have a chance, just like dynamite! Think of it this way. If I’m deer hunting and put out a salt lick, some apples, and a timed feeder and sit there and wait for the deer, is that hunting?

      @@bobosterday3350 they do make fish feeders, but he wasn't fishing by one. 😅 Oh, and it's tough to "catch-and-release" while hunting...I suppose that'd be more like selective harvest.
