The wife came through. She wasn't looking but knew enough when she saw it to ask. She is a keeper. For real 🙏 the broken kingpin made it all possible. Crazy how different the two setups ride. The OG will probably be set aside. However now I can really ride the white one I setup with all the reissue components. We will take it in the bowl this spring. It was awesome to learn the history of everything between the two videos. It gets me hyped when more on skateboarding. The downhill is coming. I need to setup the board and learn some basic slides and find some beginner spots and go from there. Still at the park working on tricks. Just trying to share the full adventure and save the park clips for real progress and not just sessions. Thanks for checking it out 🙏💯. Stay Rad.

Appreciate the feedback on the setup. Always moving forward. Going in, I knew what I thought I knew about G&S Fibreflex. through the process of building the replica and finding and fixing the original , I really learned a lot. It is all interesting to me. YES💯 downhill. Another thing that probably isn't as easy as just going down the hill. We will figure it out. 😂.

Appreciate you checking it out. It is an awesome part of history. Downhill riders use angled risers on tucks that don't have predetermined angles built into them. Outside of that I haven't seen them used. Maybe I should try my street setup with Rad Pads 😂. The HPG truck is amazing to me. That's truly a rad find and fix Down hill can be fun just no long runs near you. I will tell you the blue ridge park way in the late 80's was the ticket. I got a few scars of honor haha.

interesting stuff! 150 for two kingpins is something ;) you got pretty cheap with this and nice solution with making new kigpins. Crazy truck that is. great video!
I am glad there are still smart craftsmen in the world that can make things out of nothing. I have him the 2 broken pieces of the original kingpin and he produced new ones perfectly. Kind of amazing really. The truck design is really cool. The idea of adjusting the training radius by adjusting the kingpin is pretty Rad really. I am stoked to have this board up and running. Maybe I will try some softer bushings and see if we can get it moving more but the downhills sure are fun. Building my downhill board today ‼️
I haven't had Gullwings since the 1980s. Learning about the HPG was super interesting. I love the history. Really appreciate your comments. They are making my day because I feel you are as hyped as I am 🙏

I was just looking it out. Classic first off. And if Black Hill (Road or Way) is in reference to the Black Mountain are in Ranch PQ in San Diego, then that is where I grew up in the 80s. From the looks of it, it could no kidding be the same area.
I met Jay Adams at Sunset beach on Oahu in the early 2000s. Chatted with him a bit. RIP. Those 109 Indy’s are they also known as stage 4’s? I saw something about Indy bringing back a Stage 4 which is supposedly the same design that Ace trucks stole from Indy that Indy hadn’t used in decades. I’ve been thinking about trucks a bit since I ordered a flat bar to skate. Not sure the Carver C5 is gonna manage grinds on a rail at all. Not sure I’m gonna even try to find out. But I’m not sure what truck to set up. I’m riding an 8.8” deck and it’s an odd size to pair a truck with. I think I prefer a truck axel smaller than my deck width. Not sure what brand to ride. I started on Venture, had Thunder after that, then was on Indy till the end. Been watching Ben Degros videos listening to his theories on all that since he started skating around same time I did and had roughly the same experiences at the same ages. But he doesn’t pop his tricks like I do. And I sorta don’t know how not to pop mine. But after SurfSkating and riding a C5, not sure any regular trucks are gonna be to my liking. I was watching you on that board and though that stability is nice for preventing speed wobbles, not sure I’d be able to deal with any tick tacking in my skating now. When I get back on standard boards I feel repulsed by any tick tacks, to the point I don’t want to even ride It. I bought Ace because of supposed turn radius, but they feel like heavy crap to me. 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️ That board you got is a near find. Glad you were able to machine a king pin to make it whole again. That’s pretty rad. Looks fun for hill bombs so long as you never get the speed wobbles. Oh, I was gonna ask, did you watch the recent video that was filmed at Cabs house, where he shows his vintage 60s board collection? That was pretty rad.
Mike thanks for checking in on the video. I thought the stage 4s were the new Indy with the inverted kingpin? ACE are 💯% based off of OG Indys. I have moved to ACE on almost all my setups, unless they have an old school bolt pattern. ACE doesn't make a baseplate with the OG bolt pattern. I have like ACE. They are very diverse for tricks, now, and slappy. I don't notice the weight. I ride an 8.75 with ACE 55. The 55s tuck the wheels in a bit so I don't hit them on slappy nose slides. ACE 66 would fit it just about perfect. I also like mine in a little. I haven't seen the CAB video yet. I know he is a big collector. I don't plan to become a collector, I just want to ride and experience them all. I love having a board representing the main 3 Z Boyz. Jay is Skateboarding, ALVA is the attitude of skateboarding, Stacy is the style. They brought skateboarding to life. Definitely stay away from that rail in the C5 😂. However, it will be tempting to see how it goes. Stay Rad Sir. 🙏
For my down hill board, I went with Caliber 44 degree. I did also get a 50 for the front while in the learning process to add a bit of stability. It is going to be rad or gnarly 😂

The new one I build rides exactly how it should. It mimics surfing 🌊. Absolutely love it. The vintage one was a little stiff. Probably due to the bushings I used. However, it gets after the hills and is RAD! 💯

Tracker Full tracks would be a better downhill truck if you’re going old school or Paris trucks.

You should have taken that board down the path by that paking lot you were in. There are some gnarley hills on it.
Definitely need to recon the river path. Is it good?
@AdventuresInSkateboarding the hills are pretty steep. You would definitely want the trucks locked down tight to stop speed wobbles on some of them.
