These are used during Diwali festival 😍😍 love them!! Everyone wondering whether it can be consumed, Yes! you can. We use it during Diwali festival for decoration but consumed later when the 5-day pooja is done. Used to carry a piece in pocket to school. Or Take a bite go around to play with friends come and take a bite during break. It takes days to completely finish it. Small round shaped ones (
If they would let it cool just a tad before pouring it in then they wouldn't have air bubbles forming. Also if they would wash the sides of the pot with water with a brush the candy would not crystallize and have a solid structure and not fall apart easy! It's pretty but they need to do that!
Beautiful! Mommas do your thang! The whole process looks so easy but there is so much science to it. I actually like the the pink ones, so pretty but they are all beautiful.
Those pink and yellow and white candies at village festivals and fares or we call it jatara ....buying this and rice popcorn ...what a days those were ....
@@abhishekkashyapaqua3566 They are just sweet, no real "flavor". Have had several times at Hindi weddings; I keep them in clear plastic boxes with silica packets to keep dry.
Wow youtube actually recommended something worth while. Those candies are gorgeous along with those molds. And of course the Grandma is beautiful as well.

Beautiful, talented ,hard working people Weldon from Sri lanka😁🇱🇰 I like all but mostly tajmahal and Radha Krishna 👍👍her face asking like how is our work 😁
WOW! The beautiful colored candy, the molds, the ladies...all so beautiful. My selfish thought is that I would love to be able to collect the candy molds. They are so beautifully carved. And the women work so hard🥰
In South India, especially in parts of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu these are made for a festival called sankranthi or pongal , which is the festival of harvest. These candies usually used to be given to visiting guests during the festival.
This is the coolest thing to pop up in my recommendations in a long time. Those candy molds are incredible and must of taken forever to make. To think that is a giant piece of sugar candy is unreal...how would one begin to eat it!?! This video was amazing!!!
8:02 see her face she is so innocent and hard working
ITS SO CUTE MAN

🌔🌓🌔 Who Ever carved those pieces of wood is a true ARTIST. . Beautiful Work Ladies!
Those candies are like an artefact...I wouldn't eat that but keep it... And yes, how can we not talk about the wooden moulds....
You do know that ants and bees and other bugs will come after those stud statues. I if eat them if i were you. It will go to the bugs, if you don't.
Fun fact: They aren't really meant to be eaten. Just part of a ritual.
@@bluueddyytrue1531 I guess the same ..
@@bluueddyytrue1531 but is it allowed to eat them?
Hope grandmother's long life and have many buyers for their candies

This is the comment I was looking for! Knew there had to be a trick. Thanks for sharing
Beautiful wooden moulds. These sweets look like celebration pieces...
You guessed it right. See my direct comments.
This is my childhood. I love them so much. Whenever they give these in weddings, my grandma keeps them for me. 💜
Beautiful! Mommas do your thang! The whole process looks so easy but there is so much science to it. I actually like the the pink ones, so pretty but they are all beautiful.
No candy thermometer in sight, she just knows.
And no scale to ensure exact measurements or a cooling and warming tables. Legit just knows her stuff.
Just enough for all moulds
ROTFLMFAO WHAT WOULD ANYONE NEED A THERMOMETER ALL THEY HAVE TO DO IS POUR IT INTO THE MOLDS AND WAIT FOR IT TO HARDEN ..
There is a way to determine what stage it's at by dropping a bit into water.
@@markwayne8405 it has to get to a specific temp to become hard candy..
I can imagine using all types of organic fruit flavoring with this. Wonder of cane sugar works just as effectively
Omg these are batashe from my childhood.. the color and sugar fearmongering commenters dont get our culture. Love!!!!
That's food colour ...
Where is batashe made?
It looks like it's not sugar.. but white jaggery. Is that true?
It's made of bura/khaand ?
@@skylark1848 It is sugar.
Haven’t seen one negative comment.
Bless the hands who made the mould n bless grandma for making beautiful goodies out of it😍
