AMAZING VIDEO!! I do want to mention that if your gonna get wood chews for your hamster you want to get toys made for animals grabbing wooden things from stores is dangerous since you don’t know if the wood was treated or not!! other then that welcome to the community super proud you did the research!! It’s hard for people to notice when their wrong when it comes to hamster care !! ❤️❤️❤️
While this is true dollar wood is very rarely treated as treating the wood is more expensive and cuts int the store's profit margin but a good rule of thumb is if it smells like chemicals it's no good
@@balicard00 wood doesn’t have to smell like chemicals for it to be treated also they all are in the same shape I would prefer drift wood or different chews and monitor the hamster that’s all I’m saying I’m not saying she should throw them away and I’m not shaming her care I’m just saying you shouldn’t trust dollar stores you would be surprised how much wood is treated or effected I would mainly focus on toys for animals this comes from experience I’ve had 10+ hamster and a lot of products that are targeted towards animals especially rodents is dangerous so why would you trust things that aren’t? Targeted towards animals!!!!
i love how you were so gentle in letting the hamster go to it's new habitat willingly. this video is informative, especially when you provide details, and reason of your every haul. the habitat setup is also overall well done!! in my opinion, your hamster will definitely enjoy its new home 🖤🖤
On 20:19 I laughed so hard I was not expecting that lol I used to think they just rolled around in it not dig and now Ik how sand gets everywhere in my hamsters cage
This is great cage! Love that you give a lot of examples for a cage on a budget, because most channels give very expensive examples and not everyone can effort that! ❤️
WAAY UNDERRATED! Amazing video! Edit: she seems really itchy, so maybe you should take her to the vet, like all new pets :) Especially since she was bought from a pet store
Ik Ik I’m a year late but you can take a hamster to the vet but Bc the are such a small animal a vet can’t really do anything like a chinchilla they can Bc it is a bigger animal but still not big
GIRL IF I WAS A HAMSTER I WOULD WANT TO LIVE THERE, I’m getting a hamster and this is so inspirational I love how you did the bin cage and loved how you decorated it it’s amazing 🤩
Id personally recommend a much bigger cage(800 inches of floor space) with a little more bedding (about 10 inches) and you can put stilts on the wheel and sand bath and stuff so it doesnt collapse if the hamster burrows under it. And i also recommend a large multi chamber hideout as well as a few smaller hides. And maybe 2 or 3 dig boxes each with a different substrate rather than just one. Also there are definitely healthier food options, such as getzoo, chubby hamster cheeks and a few others. Also its a good idea to mix the worms into the rather than feeding them as a treat. And dont forget to give fresh veggies twice a week and as for treats, you can use fruits, veggies, meal worms(still make sure they have some meao worms in their main diet) or baby puffs in moderation. Also for foraging, you can add millet sprays and scatter feed their seed mix. But for the most part you did a great job! Wayyyy better than most people when they get a hamster! Heres a routine id stick with: every day scatter feed 1 tbsp of their seed mix with the meal worms mixed in and clean the water bowl and give them fresh water. Twice a week give them fresh veggies cut into small pieces. Every 3 days sift the sand bath and clean the wheel. A hamster safe cleaning solution that i highly reccomend is 50/50 water vinigar solution in a spray bottle. Once a week spot clean their cage by removing any visibly soiled bedding and sift their sand. Restock their sprays and sand and dig box if needed. Every 4 weeks, remove the hamster from the cage and deep clean their cage. Leave as much unsoiled bedding in as possible so the hamsters scent stays. Replace most of the sand and dig box. Check for signs of chewing or damage in the enclosure. Restock millet sprays if needed and use this time to change their setup if needed. Hope this helps! ❤
Love this video!! More people should do the research like you did before getting a hamster! Well done 😻 I love those clips of her exploring the enclosure 🥰
The hamster looks very excited running around and scent marking, she has eaten straight away so that is a great sign! I had some hamsters many years ago but I could never tame her, I got gerbils and they were like my dogs, greeting me and very easy to tame! I love how you set up her enclosure, great video!
I remember watching all about hamsters at age 11 I all ways asked my parents for one and show them all about them knew almost everything about them at that age and all now am 12 years old and am so excited because my phase (era) of having a hamster is back and now I asked my parents and they said yes am so excited and I can’t wait till I get one I wanna tame him (the hamster) and for him to love me and for me to love him 🥺💕
SUCH a great hamster cage it’s great to see more people promoting amazing hamster care the only thing I was say is that she seems to be itching quite a lot in the video clips I would get that checked out at the vet just to be safe in case she has mites or anything like that but Nyla is such a cute little hamster! 😊
It's amazing that you gave your hamster such a large cage! I hope that new hamster owners will do the same. I upgraded my hammy to a bigger bin cage and she loves it. :)
so proud of you! i’m happy you were willing to learn from your mistakes and improve your care. your hammy looks incredibly happy. unfortunately, a lot of people will reject constructive criticism regarding hamster care. thank you for being openminded and thoughtful.

Second hamster owner. Love the video and the set up of your hamster Nyla home. I have a Siberian hamster male called snowy I got him at around 8 months old and very fortunate him loves being handled. I love watching snowy adventures. Well enjoy your hamster 😊
I recommend the full cheeks stainless steel glass water bottles cuz they’re similar to this one other nice water bottle. And even tho it’s bigger it’s never been too big for my hamsters and it never leaks.
Great video! I have the same water bottle! I drilled two holes in my bin cage so I could keep it on the outside and it seems to be at the right angle (straight up and down). Yours might be leaking because it's on an angle?
The only thing i would recommend you get for your lil hammy is a multichamber wooden hideout :) mine always shredded cardboard within days and it got all gross and soggy from the pee 😅 other than that I think this is a great cage! ❤
ngl i did my bin cage with a craft knife. I think I paid 20 euro for the bin and 15 for the chicken wire (cus my dumb ass gave away the chicken wire i had before). Zip ties, you can usually find someone who has those around. For the holes I used scissors. And to cut the wire i had something already but tbf you can ask around to see if ppl have this laying around (check your local craft girly). The cage only serves as a vacation home when I need to travel. Anyways I'm happy seeing ppl like you doing research before getting a hamster and wanting to get things right

My hamster loves the wheemzey thinghy XD Mine is a toothbrush, I broke it in two parts. Bean drags it around in his enclosure LMAO Now he left it in his Secret tunnel thinghy, but it was hilaroius to watch. I wonder if your hammy does it too XD another girl saw his hamster doing it as well AHAHAH Anyway, great bin cage :D I'm sure your hammy loves it! I only have a warning for you tho: While watching the video I noticed that between the sandbath and the wheel there's space in which your hammy can get stuck. Yes, it happened with poorly designed cages (that are supposed to be tested...) in which the hamster got stuck between the platform and the wheel despite the space was not big. Your hammy might ttry to climb the side of the wheel and, yeah. Just move a little far thr wheel and you'll be fine :D
Nice cage! With our last hamster I tried convincing my mom and dad to her her a bin cage but they said we already have a cage,(from our past hamster, the one I was talking about also died almost two years ago now.)All well.If I ever get another hamster, witch might be a while cause we have two cats now.I will definitely do a bin cage!
Omg first off i wanne say i looove your setup it is so cute 🥰. I have 2 suggestions for you maybe you could put in like some grapewood fines in the middle to give the hamster a few more places to hide because they tend to be more skittish in open spaces and they tend to feel more safe when it is a bit more crowded. Also maybe you could add some herbs and dried flowers ones a week they have a lot of benefits for hammies. Oh! And maybe you could ad a few sprays? ❤️ Hope this helps a little i love your hammie btw. And you did an amazing job. Also i apologize if my english isn't the best.
yes i love these ideas, i did plan to get herbs and sprays but couldn't find any near me but i'm still looking. and grapewood i've looked into before and it was pricey, but I agree to make it a bit more crowded. Thanks for the comment!
@@niamhjoy no problem❤️ oh that sucks. Yeah sadly in some places you don't have great access to those. I forget sometimes that where i live it is very easy to get
@@niamhjoy I get all my sprays from NZPawsCo, they’re an amazing company and very decent pricing as well! Unsure what pricing would be for the US but it’s my go to

Can’t wait for this to be me! I’ve just started uni and can’t wait till I get my own place so I can have a hamster again 🥰
My hamster loves the wheemzey thinghy XD Mine is a toothbrush, I broke it in two parts. Bean drags it around in his enclosure LMAO Now he left it in his Secret tunnel thinghy, but it was hilaroius to watch.
I wonder if your hammy does it too XD another girl saw his hamster doing it as well AHAHAH
Anyway, great bin cage :D I'm sure your hammy loves it!
Great idea! They're certainly cheap. 😊
I forget sometimes that where i live it is very easy to get
@@niamhjoy i would love to see an update ones you do find everything im curious
@@niamhjoy I get all my sprays from NZPawsCo, they’re an amazing company and very decent pricing as well! Unsure what pricing would be for the US but it’s my go to
