Magnetic currents can be electrically cancelled. It makes NO sense for a magnetic controller to NOT have a detach.
No theyre not. The release buttons on the joycons at the moment would be way easier to press and even they arent easy to accidentally press. Your fingers will never accidentally press those buttons the way they are, if you do skill issue. And also with the magnet mechanism a release button is definitely needed, after all those magnets would need to be really strong. Too weak and theyd come off all the time. Too strong and no release youll fucking break it. The buttons also press in the same direction youd pull the joycon off.

We don't know about the UI or some of it's games. And what about the Switch 2 Pro con? I believe we haven't seen the dock for it. How will backwards compatability work? (Is it like the WiiU where the Wii menu has to be opened first before doing whatever? Or can we insert the game, and go straight in without needing the Switch 1 menu?). Also we don't know if we get EShop music, home music, and other types of music back. We don't know if they will fix the EShop lag and online lag, if Switch 1 Online games on Switch 2 have cross-compatability with Switch 1, and more. Leaks could show the Switch 2 dock and pro-con, but as for anything that actually requires the Switch 2 to be on and played with, we will never know unless Nintendo says themselves. You could absolutely be right, but there are some features that are impossible to leak without turning it on and playing first.

Literally just seems to have a similar shape and functionality as the Switch and that might make it hard for casuals to even tell it's a new console. This is underwhelming. They could have done so much more but they are sitting on the success of the Switch. This is just another Switch and I am tired of it. They could have made it more like a DS/Wii U hybrid where you can have an extra screen or made more innovative controllers like they have done with the Wiimotes in the past. Instead, we get the Switch but slightly better. Granted, it is better in one of its weakpoints, performance, but it seems to have no improvements in its second largest weakpoint: Style. Previous Nintendo consoles lived, from the simple but elegent console to the off white, musical, and expressive menus. The Switch has no personality. The Wii and Wii U practically breath life from the music to the UI sounds to the Mii's in the U's plaza. The Switch is just boxes. Quiet white boxes. Unless the UI for the Switch 2 has been completely overhauled, those slightly more round edges won't save it.
Convincing as it may look, I STILL, however dismiss it as BOGUS nonsense. Remember the policy: ONLY Nintendo will tell us WHEN. This may not be what this Switch successor console might look like, so the final product will probably be different than this.
I hope you're right. I always envisaged a design that has the screen slightly higher than the joycons with the shell tapered at the corners of the screen. Like a Switch but with the screen shifted up a bit. Oh and with ribbing in places for grip. Hope that makes sense.

It also looks like it has a USB c port on the top also. Which is great because when you're playing it on tabletop mode like I like to do a lot with family. You can actually charge it. I think on the switch one having just the USBC port on the bottom I mean I get it so we can charge while it's in the dock, but they should have designed that a little differently so you can also charge it when it's not in the dock either besides holding it in your hand
As some one who uses his Switch primary in dock mode, yes, I do like the design.They could twerk it a little bit to make it more distinctive, but hey, it's a Switch 2 and that's what matters for me at least.
I've said it before, but I think the Switch 2 could have a VR component to be the ultimate hybrid console. Hear me out, that extra trigger looks like it could be a grip button. It could have a headset accessory that connects to the dock and uses joycons as controllers which are track by gyro and cameras in the headset. It wouldn't be powerful enough to compete with PSVR 2 or PCVR, but could with mobile headsets (which a good number of devs develop for and prioritize). Nintendo kinda already has dipped a toe in it. Way too soon with the virtual boy, and also with the Wii's motion controls.

if the switch 2 is as fast as the ps4(handheld) and pro(docked) maintaining the current battery life , man is it gonna sell like crazy!
It could even perform better than a PS4, it does DLSS, so it doesn't have to run a high native resolution to look high res.

my only wishlist is for a dock with a gpu in it so the console can handle more powerful games in docked mode

Dang, 12 GB of RAM? In a Nintendo console? This thing is going to be powerful. Possibly the most powerful Nintendo's ever made. And the storage is a BIG jump foreword. It's what we all wanted from the switch OLED. Can't wait for this thing to be discounted in a few years!
i think since there is a mic, Im thinking that the new button on the right joycon COULD actually be a mic toggle button. since a small circle with a / usually means something like that.

It also looks like it has a USB c port on the top also. Which is great because when you're playing it on tabletop mode like I like to do a lot with family. You can actually charge it. I think on the switch one having just the USBC port on the bottom I mean I get it so we can charge while it's in the dock, but they should have designed that a little differently so you can also charge it when it's not in the dock either besides holding it in your hand
As some one who uses his Switch primary in dock mode, yes, I do like the design.They could twerk it a little bit to make it more distinctive, but hey, it's a Switch 2 and that's what matters for me at least.

I've said it before, but I think the Switch 2 could have a VR component to be the ultimate hybrid console. Hear me out, that extra trigger looks like it could be a grip button. It could have a headset accessory that connects to the dock and uses joycons as controllers which are track by gyro and cameras in the headset. It wouldn't be powerful enough to compete with PSVR 2 or PCVR, but could with mobile headsets (which a good number of devs develop for and prioritize). Nintendo kinda already has dipped a toe in it. Way too soon with the virtual boy, and also with the Wii's motion controls.

I love the idea of magnetic joy-cons, but the magnets BETTER HAVE magnets that don't snap off so easily, cause as much as I can see them work very well, I can also see them work very terribly.
