I never thought I'd see guitars like this from Sire! Really great to see them expanding their lineup Guitar info/link: SIRE G5 Acoustic - sweetwater.sjv.io/QjOR39 SIRE G5 Nylon - sweetwater.sjv.io/e14OP6 Enjoy :)
Great demo, Darrell! I own 2 Sires (H7 and L7V) and have the G5 nylon on backorder from Sweetwater since it was announced at NAMM. The piezo sounds are about what I’d expect, but I’m buying mostly for the playability compared to my electrics and the 2-3x a year I need nylon strings for a gig. Looking forward to getting mine after your video. Well done!
Awesome! Thanks for show casing these Sire models Darrell. Definitely appreciated. And nice clean pick'n, as always. I watch your channel religiously and I myself am impressed Sire's build quality and affordability. Been pining for their T-Style model ever since you demo. Cannot wait to get my hands on one! Anyway, Job well done brother!
Does Godin know a Canadian is playing these Sires instead of their similar models? 😂😂😂 These are, as all Sires, seemingly great, especially for the price
Wow, these are total beauties and they sound phenomenal! Nice demo on your part, Darrel! I think, I'd prefer the Nylon one as well 🙂 Sire are quickly rising to being a top of the line manufacturer IMHO. Excellent products all across the range of offerings! Wow.
It was started building quality affordable bass guitars in collaboration with Marcus Miller then they moved on to guitars, heaps of great models now, colaborating with Larry Carlton.
DB... These guitars are two of my favories that you have reviewed. No lie. Of course, you play them so well. $600 bucks? Slim necks? Damn. I may have to check these bad boys out. They would appear to compliment my absolutley outstanding voice! (O.K. Enough of that laughter from the peanut gallery; You're hurting my feelings).
Nice guitars, I may have to get both. Sire has become standard setting in the industry, and they showcased that in these G5's. Thanks for another great review/demo Darrell. It is nice to see you making vidoss again, I sure miss the One Minute Solo. Rock on brother!
Nice to hear you playing classical on a classical! I like these new Sire G5! If I didn't already have an acoustic with piezo I'd jump on these. Even so the nylon model is still really tempting.
I just love all your content, you really sold me on the S7 and I’ve been loving that guitar since I purchased it. You’re truly a gem and wish I could take some lessons from you a just soak up your wealth of guitar knowledge. Keep up the awesome job.
Hi Darrell, attention to detail providing a quality instrument for the masses. Smooooth, buttery, crisp and mellow, they both can do it all. Very, very versatile and a an affordable price point. I enjoyed this review. Cheers 🎸👍
Daryl always bring on the nicest guitars I'm an electric player I dabble with the acoustic. But I don't think there's anything that sounds more beautiful then acoustic guitar when you get a good acoustic player, it's the most expressive instrument but I've ever heard in my entire life. I just absolutely love music It's been a very big part of my life I wish everybody would learn to play people today that take the shortcuts that they do and then make their own home Studios and make some sounds and Loop all of that together Andy's Auto Tune to sing because they don't take the time to learn to sing everybody wants shortcuts in life now. I just wish people knew I could realize what they're missing out on when they do that. I can't imagine a world without music and I hope the world changes its direction and starts learn I want to create real music again going to be 60 in February what's too many beautiful things in life to make shortcuts I just wish people would realize how they cheat themselves out of a lot public life can give you it only take the time to learn
Thanks Darell you made me discover an attractive product in regard of the steel strings G5. As a classical guitaiste i can't cope with the piezo captor for the nylon strings. I have to check the bolt neck wich is surprising for an acoustic guitar...
They both sound great, but not a fan of open gear tuners. That is just my preference. The sound is the ultimate th8ng with acoustics, and they didn't disappoint. Amazing playing DB. Love the Landslide.
I've always had this opinion that if you want an acoustic sound get an acoustic guitar without piezio pickups . That aside I love your channel . I really hate the sound of those kind of pickups ! LOL ! Great channel !
The steel string held its own against a bigger body standard guitar. It had very much the chime and tad of twang of an ordinary steel string. A nylon string should have a harp like pluck on the attack. This guitar it is more like the thud a flat wound metal string on a full size archtop for Jazz, so I was disappointed. THANX for your as usual excellent demo. You are among about 5 out of about 200 reviewers that truly shows us what to really expect if we buy.😇
Dammit Darrell you've done it again you're making it tough on my bank account 🤣 the nylon sounded amazing! I don't have a nylon, I didn't want a nylon but now I do 😉 great video.
Only thing about the nylon, many classical players prefer a flat fretboard. My cousin-in-law had a Yamaha Classical and the flat fretboard was strange to me so I guess having the radiused board would appeal to more players.
Ask Kyle Kim if we can have a double neck now, with the steel and nylon, superlight, piezo bridges lol I would buy these in a double neck in a heartbeat...actually a very utilitarian and useful guitar.
Finally a great review of G5.. I do really thinking of buying the N version. But, how does it sound like when say, playing typical trubadour songs? Strumming Chords, both say John fogerty stuff, Billy idol (rebel yell, white wedding) style of music? And, AND can it do some ZZ-top things? Please please do a video on it’s versitilety!! I do own the S7 and G4, Sire guitars are killer for the price. Though i play on bars and such Feedbacking is an issue. Best regards Ola from Sweden!
They look great but they suffer from piezo quack. Sire needs to develop a preamp system similar to the one in the Yamaha Silent guitars that gives you simulated mic tones.
The nylon one does sound very similar to the Gibson Chet Atkins CE Nylon (which was also piezo + preamp only) from 1981/1982 which did cost around 4k. While there are of course the usual people nobody has ever heard of expressing their dislike... it was good enough for Chet Atkins and Mark Knopfler (e.g. "Private Investgations").
Previously saw then on an Andertons video, even lefty available. Tried to source in Canada. No dice. Distributor says even waiting on righties no timeline available. 😢
I'm worried it can't be acoustic upgrade as somebody opening VScode everyday. Team play could have been very good, but not until here at Oribos and Bastion 1:45. Steel strings have that tone, very known to somebody who played it before. Could be weather or anything, but just changing those gains give it new sound for a few months. Signs of a computer are much simpler than you think. 9:00 it's just how I see those fast food shops changing as my rocksmith cars.
Darrell. You have a great channel. But how about spring for a new camera that has a quicker focus response. Give us old folks with migraines a break. 🙏🏻
I watched your video yesterday and ordered the steel string model..itll arrive around Dec. 30. Big thank you!! One question,..do you know its weight,..I can't find that info anywhere.
I had them both , I wanted to sell the godin and keep the Sire , but ended up sending the Sire back ,don't get me wrong sound OK especially with some IR but not even close to a godin
I'm a nylon string player. Played plenty under 2k. Quack, quack, quack. Piezo just not ready for prime time. My luthier and SW rep both say all acoustic pickups suck and that you are far better off using a directional mic on a guitar with a quality acoustic sound.
Two things: Sire has Larry Carlton's name on the headstock so they believe the guitars can deliver a good jazz sound, yet you didn't play any warm jazzy tones. You didn't give any examples of the guitars playing unplugged...I would have liked to hear how they sounded unplugged. However, I do thank you for showing these new Sire guitars.
I never thought I'd see guitars like this from Sire!
Really great to see them expanding their lineup

Farewell to Kings! Nice job Darrell.

A Farewell to Kings… 👍😀
They are a brilliant option - sound great, look cool and the action looks perfect for electric players 👍🏻
Does Godin know a Canadian is playing these Sires instead of their similar models? 😂😂😂 These are, as all Sires, seemingly great, especially for the price
These are phenomenal guitars. Whoa.
Wow, these are total beauties and they sound phenomenal! Nice demo on your part, Darrel! I think, I'd prefer the Nylon one as well 🙂 Sire are quickly rising to being a top of the line manufacturer IMHO. Excellent products all across the range of offerings! Wow.
i've never heard of sire until i looked through your recent uploads. thanks so much for showcasing some of their stuff!! i'm glad i found out ab them
It was started building quality affordable bass guitars in collaboration with Marcus Miller then they moved on to guitars, heaps of great models now, colaborating with Larry Carlton.
DB...

Nice. The nylon is just what I was looking for.
Can't wait to get my hands on this.
Awesome nod to Farewell to the Kings chords
He is a real guitarist and shows what a nylon string can sound like even aside from classical type playing...
Sounds so delightful
Daryl always bring on the nicest guitars I'm an electric player I dabble with the acoustic. You played extra ordinarily well. Steel strings sounded amazing
Thanks Darell you made me discover an attractive product in regard of the steel strings G5. As a classical guitaiste i can't cope with the piezo captor for the nylon strings. I have to check the bolt neck wich is surprising for an acoustic guitar...
Farewell to kings and Dust in the wind eh? Great choices for demos. 😁
The eq seems very adaptive. Great sounds coming from both guitars. I wonder if they’ll ever get into adding synth access like the Godins.
Those sound great, and at that price! Wow.
Nice nylon string guitar! Thanks Daryl
A G7 would be awesome if these are anything to go by. Add an internal mic/transducer and some pretty binding and inlays.
I like both guitars. The nylon stringed guitar reminds me of the sound of Willy Nelson’s guitar.
They both sound great, but not a fan of open gear tuners. That is just my preference. The sound is the ultimate th8ng with acoustics, and they didn't disappoint. Amazing playing DB. Love the Landslide.

Incredible value, Darrell! I'm leaning towards the idea that you don't need to pay thousands for a great playing and sounding instrument.
Did I hear some Soul Asylum Black Gold around the 2:58 time?
Ask Kyle Kim if we can have a double neck now, with the steel and nylon, superlight, piezo bridges lol
I would buy these in a double neck in a heartbeat...actually a very utilitarian and useful guitar.
Going to have to save up again. I want that nylon guitfiddle!!!!!!
Thanks Darrell, just ordered a leftie tobacco G5N. Hope they can make it, not sure.
That nylon strung sounds really good….
Finally a great review of G5..
I do really thinking of buying the N version.
But, how does it sound like when say, playing typical trubadour songs?
Strumming Chords, both say John fogerty stuff, Billy idol (rebel yell, white wedding) style of music?

Beautiful guitars!! I will buy the steel string version for sure. Are you using compression while recording?
They look great but they suffer from piezo quack. Sire needs to develop a preamp system similar to the one in the Yamaha Silent guitars that gives you simulated mic tones.
The Rick turner d-tar piezos sound great and his renaissance guitars aren’t really quacky because of the headroom of the preamp
Thanks for the heads up.
Sounds super playable. Wish you played it unplugged for a moment too though
It's similar to a solid-body electric guitar. There's no acoustic chamber.
I have a Godin A6 which is a great guitar but for nylon string this Sire is better deal.
I'm curious as to how the steel string version would sound with overdrive/distortion and if that's even a viable option.
Man that nylon sounds amazing. I haven’t bought a Sire yet but was planning to, but now there’s another choice. Decisions decisions. 🤔 lol
Look like great ones. Sire is on a roll! But how do they sound not plugged in? I'm guessing not very loud...
I would imagine that the nylon version would probably sound its best thru an acoustic amp....very nice guitars
Previously saw then on an Andertons video, even lefty available. Tried to source in Canada. No dice. Distributor says even waiting on righties no timeline available.
😢
You don’t mention what their unplugged abilities are, nice unit and nice presentation.
With Larry Carlton's name on it;
you know you'll find excellent playability
and tone ❗
good guitars:maybe i will buy the nylon!thx for testing,playing and entertaining!lol!
Is this the new Sire RUclips channel ?
I am jonesing for the G5 nylon. A 21 fret nylon?
SOLD!!!!!!!
Nice little homage to Rush. Yeah, I heard that. LOL
Does the nylon have a radiused fretboard?
Have you tried any of the other thinline nylon models by Ortega, Ibanez, and Cordoba ($449-$749)? If so, how do they compare?
I'm worried it can't be acoustic upgrade as somebody opening VScode everyday. Team play could have been very good, but not until here at Oribos and Bastion 1:45. Steel strings have that tone, very known to somebody who played it before. Could be weather or anything, but just changing those gains give it new sound for a few months. Darrell. You have a great channel. But how about spring for a new camera that has a quicker focus response. Give us old folks with migraines a break. 🙏🏻
Curious how loud the nylon is unplugged
Holy cow! I’m very surprised at how that steel string sounds. Piezo are normally too harsh for me.
What is the nut size of each?
How full sounding are they unplugged, as a pure acoustic?
How about a comparison between the Sire G5N and the Cordoba Stage?
I watched your video yesterday and ordered the steel string model..itll arrive around Dec. 30.
Big thank you!!
One question,..do you know its weight,..I can't find that info anywhere.
Anyone hear a shootout between the Sire G5Nylon and the Ibanez thinline nylon acoustic electrics?
Howd you get that intro tone on the nylon?
Hey Darrell, are either of those loud enough if I want to play unplugged just lounging around the house?
Exactly, that’s my question, some say there is little or no volume with these type of guitars.
That fingerprinting looks like you are attacking the guitar with a claw, lol! 😅
Nice reviews.
What do they sound like acoustically?
Looks like a copy of a Gibson SST Chet Atkins model. I still love my Goya Classical. Yep my Goya was made in Sweden.
The steel string one has quite a lot of piezo quack. The nylon much less so. 🤔 PS: thanks for a little Rush.
Can you review the Sire H7v?
wow
Can we see Godin vs Sire?
I wish they made it with MIDI ACCESS like the GODIN 🤗
Those look to be nice guitars but I wish that you played them without the reverb.
Thanks for the vid
What do they sound like turned off?I mean some call them acoustic.
I am buying one , actually both
Here's a good question. Do they make one for leftys.
Yes they do
what a beauties!! 😍
Hot take: I like the sound of a piezo nylon string guitar.
But how does it sound unplugged
Why is Larry "Mr ES335" Carlton's name on these? 🤔
The nylon sounds best imo.
Wonder how they compare with Godin.
I had them both , I wanted to sell the godin and keep the Sire , but ended up sending the Sire back ,don't get me wrong sound OK especially with some IR but not even close to a godin
All we are is dust in the wind... dude...
I'm a nylon string player. Played plenty under 2k. Quack, quack, quack. Piezo just not ready for prime time. My luthier and SW rep both say all acoustic pickups suck and that you are far better off using a directional mic on a guitar with a quality acoustic sound.
Left handed?
I've never seen a bolt on acoustic
😮😮
That is nice, but I can't buy anymore guitars.
The piezo quack is a bit too much for me.
Visually they look very like my Godin Multiac physically .
I’d argue they look more like the Ibanez FRH10N and TOD10N - the Godin looks different.
Better than Godin?
