Oh my goodness, Torema! Thank you so very much. You can not imagine how greatful I am. Taking the time to explain this is beyond words. You've addressed my issue PERFECTLY! It makes absolute sense to shift the focus to the "opposite motion". Because as you say, when the knee comes up the heel has no choice but to follow. And yes heel recvovery is happening on it's own, that is why it is so hard to teach, but once again, your explanation is exquisite. You are an excellent teacher. In my experience, most athletes are not able to explain something that happens naturally and despite all the books I have looked through I also could not find a coach who addressed this issue. So thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am speechless. All the best for this season, on and off the field. With all my respect, Janette

I had to try it right away and YES it is working. My leg feels much lighter and the lower leg is closing on it's own in the highest portion of the movement! THANK YOU!!!!!!🙏🙏🙏🙏

The answer is the leg has to come up by itself. The fast one runs the higher the recovery leg will come. DON'T force the recovery motion!
The requirement to make this happen is a strong core!

If the heel recovery isnt going in that perfectly folded position naturally that you describe could it be a flexibility issue.

I mean, it could be... if you're not able to open up your stride or get your knee up at all... but if you can do that, the heel recovery tends to come naturally...it might not be in the "figure 4" position under the hips, but the leg should still fold.
