- "On The Buses Redux" is a homage to everything that was both right and wrong with British popular culture in the seventies. On The Buses was a staggeringly popular TV show which is now probably viewed as a laugh-free phenomenon. Except, that is, for the character of "Blakey" as brilliantly realized by actor Stephen Lewis. Whatever else was wrong with 70's TV, Blakey still rocks! This short is a distillation of all three Buses films as experienced through the prism of Inspector Blake. One last point - the "Buses" film trilogy is the only one in which, one could argue, each film was better than it's predecessor. Beat that "Godfather" and "Star Wars"!

R.I.P to Reg Varney ( Stan Butler ), Bob Grant ( Jack Harper ), Steven Lewis ( Inspector Blake ), Doris Hare ( Mum ), Michael Robbins ( Arthur Rudge ). Thank you all for a fantastic piece of History you all will never be forgotten. Your memories will live in our Hearts forever.

what so many ppl dont get is it was current at the time and brilliant and now a brilliant nostalgia as well of better and simpler times for those of us of a certain age as everything from our youth often is :)

I was once on a bus that stopped at every newsagent so the drivers daughter could buy a certain product and no one had it. Hahaha. I'll get you Butler. Hahaha. Brilliant.

Such a good series and free from the pc crap of today. Micheal Robbins was my favorite the dry way he delivered his lines . The series has a sentimental value for me from school and college days and catching buses . Great decade.
Stephen Lewis was equally wonderful years later as Smiler in "Last of the Summer Wine."
The woman in the Knicker Snatcher scene is Miss Brahms from Are You Being Served and the other woman was Reg Vaneys daughter in real life.
Having left good old England some 32 years ago, by watching these series, thanks to RUclips, I remeber the words....you twit.....get a bollocking.......don't pull ypur hair down.......crumpet......don't get your knickers in a twist..........kick the bucket........nosey parker.........Oh God it was funny! Rest in peace!

Laugh, son? What he did wasn't funny! It was his job to get those buses out, even dealing with lecherous layabouts like Butler and Harper - Aooooooooooo. Oh Gowd! It was serious business mate!

I still watch this show and the movies now and then and its still way better than most of the pc crap that was put out after the 70's.

Hey I love the show and i have been thinking of doing a spin off with the show
not one single time did he ever use the word bloody!!! bleeding once or twice, but mostly just get that bus out :) just saying :)
