- Join us at Captain D's for lunch to try the Lobster Rolls & Bisque before it goes away. We will also try the Seafood Platter while we are there. We will be visiting Wytheville Virginia to try these. So let's go inside and try these Lobster Rolls and see how good they are.

I just love watching your videos. It just takes me away from today's crazy world. Nice peaceful break. Everything looked delicious. Surprisingly not greasy compared to long John silvers. I remember visiting both restaurants as a kid. Captain D's was a level above LJS. Sadly Captain D's and Long John silvers are not very popular like McDonald's in Georgia. Thank you for the video and always showing us the menu.

WOW, I am always shocked when people mention Wytheville VA. That's our last stop before we go up the mountain to Sparta NC. I have never had Captain D's.

Darn,,, no Captain D's around here... But, towns out 20 miles East or West do... only 40 mile round trip....but worth it for that ! And YES that wind sounds wicked too....

I have eaten at Captain D's for 45 years in the suburbs of Atlanta, Ga. It has always been great but 3 in my area have gone downhill the last 2 years. The restaurants are old, probably original from decades ago. The quality of the food here is not good. Love their tartar sauce and green beans. The one you ate at must be new as the building looks new, super clean and the food looked delicious! I made another attempt the other day at a different location hoping for better food and it was closed. 😢 Hope it is just a remodel and they will come back. Glad you had a great experience. Always enjoy your videos!

Trust me the Lobster roll & Bisque is made from Lobster mix salad mix has real lobster claws and imitation just add mayo or the soup. They very good to add with your meal

I've been Captain Ds fan since the beginning in Memphis, lobster rolls were good, also like catfish, hushpuppies, slaw and fish sandwich. I don't have one near me but will stop whenever I pass one.
We do not have one in the area where we live either. That's why we stop whenever we see one.😎😎

I bought a 1911 in 38 Super from a gun store in Los Angeles called LA Guns 😃. That soup and the lobster rolls look great. To bad there isn't any locations close to the DC area. Great video of normal people having normal food.

There’s one in Beckley, WV. They did have on the menu, add 5 shrimp for $1.99 to your meal. They have the best and hottest jalapeño bites I’ve had anywhere. A favorite.

I miss Captain Ds and Long John Silvers !!! I live in northeastern Oklahoma. We no longer have either one !!! ☹️ I loved the crunches !!! Oh and the malt vinegar!!!! When I was in nursing school we would go to the long John silvers right down the street . We got fish , shrimp and clams !!! Split it between the 2 of us !!! Yummy !! God bless

LOVE Captn D's! I always get the deluxe seafood platter because of the stuffed crabs and they always look that way. YUM! Best tartar sauce anywhere too. My friend worked there in the 80's and gave me the recipe. Helmans, dill relish and grated onion and I've always made it that way too :) The onion makes it so much better.

Hellman's mayonnaise is the best. You can add some extra mayo to your lobster rolls.

Looks good! Wish there was one near me. Funny thing is I live close to Chesapeake Bay and if you order a decent seafood platter in the restaurants around here it'll cost you 40+ dollars. Heck in the summer #1 steamed blue male crabs are pushing $100 a dozen. Unbelievable!

I like everything I've tried. Okra, green beans Cole slaw and fish of course.
I use to work for Capitan D , as a # secret shopper . evaluating the food and service . I had to fill out a report and attached my register receipt and I was reimbursed for my meal. I wasn't allowed to let them know who I was during my dinning experience.. LOL It was a lot of fun for me and my husband.

Hey guys. Thanks for sharing. FYI: No restaurant will shred their lobster meat after they have paid a premium for lobster. I make New England Lobster Rolls with nothing but 100% lobsta on a butta toasted roll! Love you guys!

Would like to try Captain D's. The closest one is the one you guys reviewed which is 178 miles from me. This place looks way cleaner than Long John Silvers.

We LOVE Captain D's!!!! The lobster rolls look bigger this time around. They used to be half that size. I wish they'd bring back the lobster bites. Those were fantastic!!!!!

Never heard of Captain D's didn't know any existed being from just outside the Pittsburgh area at one point there were a lot of long John silver's but very few are left now unfortunately long johns had the same stuff that's presented on the captain D's menu that food looked really good.

Hey John and Bobby hope your day's been good in the Mount Juliet in Nashville area we do not have any Captain D's they have closed the doors and shoney's have also closed back in the 1970s my grandmother dated Ray Danner Ray sold the business twice last time was in 1998 and they haven't done very well since then they always had some pretty decent food at a good price till next time take care

I wanted to go through my IPad and grab that lobster sandwich you showed us and my mouth was watering for the lobster bisque. I can hear that wind whistling! I am glad you mentioned Virginia - now I figured out why there was a Bojangles! hehe My brother used to be obsessed with Captain D's back in the early 90s. I like them just fine! It was Arthur Treachers for us in the 70s, then Long John Silvers and then Captain D's. I miss Arthur Treachers but Capt D's fish is nice and mild and I like the batter. I love their chicken tenders too and their hushpuppies.I love the supreme platter.

I never had Captain D's but it looks good. Tried Long John Silver's a couple times but didn't think it was good at all. Now back when Arthur Treacher's was open their food was really good.
@@jimm8246 After I worked there in 1985, I never wanted Long John Silvers again. Between the horrid conditions in the kitchen and "restaurant" itself, there was also the fact that they made a petite girl carry heavy wooden tables and 50 heavy wooden chairs into the back room every single night for #noreason only to have to bring them back each morning. I tore both of my rotator cuffs. I was 17 then and now at 55 I still have pain and can barely ever lift my arms over my head as a result. Thanks LJS. LOL

I don't think we've ever had Captain D's in New York. We used to have Long John Silvers but they're gone now. Do you go out to eat at off hours? There was no one else in the place lol!! Everything looks really good!! Thanks for taking us along!

I’m not against imitation crab as long as it’s not in a lobster roll. I think I’d rather have one lobster roll and have it be all lobster. The quality of the fried fish looked good. I’m trying to stay away from inflammatory oils and that stuff is loaded with it. The non deep fried selection would have nice to see reviewed but I understand its not a health food channel!
