Interesting, my #7 Troy stuff said it was made in Canada! I have some of the Lambro stuff that comes with flight control wad and it seems good quality... cheap at 60 cents for 00 buck. I believe that Fiocchi isn't 00 buck, as the pellets on mine gauged/weighed in at #1 buck. The crimp is pretty lousy as well. ZSR shells are pretty good quality, lots of different slug loadings too. Stout and high brass. Take a look at 'topgunammo' for 12 gauge ammo, some of the prices you're saying seem high.
I picked up 4 cases of fetter. 250 buck 250 slugs. Burned them all down with no malfunctioning out of a couple cheap shotguns for my sons
