I imagine that even the major companies in Argentina don’t hold on to pesos very long so who is going to trade you dollars for pesos? Nobody…. Massive debt is how it would happen.

depends on the country's perspective, the actual problem of socialdemocracies is that they often overspend for years, degrade their loan ratings, have to make up with debt or printing. If you get a loan in dollars to dollarize while you cut on spending, austerity that is, you can at least hope things go back to normal, and even get your sovereignty back.

@@FeelMetalMan how does a country dollarize without debt? Seriously asking… I would never trade my dollars for your pesos if I know you, the country that prints those pesos, is planning on dumping them. For anyone wanting some context from an Argentinean, our choices were between Millei (the nutcase in question) and Massa, who has been our defacto president for the past 18 months and tanked our economy (from 1 USD = 300 pesos to 1 USD = 950, with peaks in 1200). These elections were already doomed due to our current economic situation and the fact that NOT 1 of the electoral candidates (not just these 2 from the ballotage) were good picks.
Basically, we were fucked from the start. Editting to add: Massa has been known as a corrupt PoS who flipflops from one end of the spectrum to the other whenever it fits him too. Millei is our version of Ben Shapiro gone president. We're gigafucked

Libertarianism (capital "democracy") and neoliberalism have always been about the state not interfering with capital, but state is needed to police those who oppose the profit of the capital, state bank that gets money from taxes to give money to companies to do shit that the state could have done by itself but that's socialist so just give the money to a company idk, military for the defense of the nation, secret agencies to protect the capital and foreign policies and nato to make money for military services. His plan is mostly a classic liberal plan that history shows that works, at least to end inflation and extreme poverty at the cost of inequality and capital flight. If he does what he says will do, history showed that that recipe worked in Chile, Peru, El Salvador, Ecuador, etc. Countries with extremely high inequality but almost to no inflation, which polling considered the main issue (147% of inflation). Every argentinian president have got reelected when he reduced inflation to less than 2 digits, so If he ends inflation he will be in power 8 years.

I am 20 years old and since I am alive the only thing that I have seen is a crazy inflation and in power, the same politic party. We are all fed up of this corrupted and millionare politicians (of all parties). We literally had two options, to vote things to continue the same way (Massa) or to try something new (Milei), that its backed up and probably will be controlled by an ex president that isn´t so fucked up (Macri). I want to give you an example for you to understand more about Massa, his right hand, days before the elections, was seen at Ibiza in a private Yacht with a instagram influencer, gifting her l. vitton and crazy expensive things. DAYS BEFORE THE ELECTIONS, AND THE INSTAGRAM INFLUENCER POSTED IG STORIES ABOUT IT. THEY DONT GIVE AF. Its crazy how the they dont even hide it. People dont have money to eat, and they do that, and DONT EVEN HIDE IT. So yeah, thats why people voted milei, cause he relates with peoples impotence and he is the OTHER OPTION. I want to add: we are already fucked, we have been fucked for years.
AND YES, HE IS CRAZY BUT THE OTHER OPTION WAS WORSE, WE JUST COULDNT VOTE FOR THE CURRENT MINISTER OF ECONOMY, ARE YOU KIDDING, 300% INFLATION, HE SHOULD HAVE RESIGNED RATHER TO RUN FOR PRESIDENT. AND YES, FUCK PERONISM.

As an Argentine, I hope that Milei does not think of using repression as a response to the protests in the streets, because as soon as he takes some of the measures he says he is going to take, there will be protests. The half of the people who did not vote for him are a sector of the population that does not tolerate repression and is used to taking to the streets in response. Thanks to the history and strength of social movements, repression in Argentina has a very high political cost, and if Milei wants to make the cuts he has announced, he must avoid even scratching a single protester, to avoid an escalation of violence.

How about southern France? As blond as North Italians. But they french are white, Italians are not. Even if Tuscany is historically more related to Provence than Sicily. Doesn't matter. They're Italians, not white. My point is: the concept does not follow the physical characteristics of a person.
