I'm a groomer and I've used an Air Muzzle since they first came out and I would never consider grooming flat faced dogs or cats without one. Many aggressive animals recognize an old fashioned muzzle and start to panic. Even basket and wire muzzles can restrict breathing to an extent, but with an Air Muzzle, their mouths are able to fully open. I've found far less panic using one as compared to standard muzzles. The fabric muzzle the man in the video held up is specifically a cat muzzle. It not only prevents biting, but all vision as well. It's also hard to monitor a cat's condition using one. The Air Muzzle restricts SOME vision; most of the fear triggers. As to price, every grooming industry event that has them available for purchase has "show specials". I paid $60 including shipping. I will never be without my Air Muzzle!
you have no control of the animals head with that thing. the cat was being super good for jugular blood draw, but very few animals hold their heads still during blood draw. if the animal wiggles while the needle is still in the neck, that's very terrifying...
$30 for this? Sure. $50? Okay. But as a vet handling cats every day, I'm not paying $140 for two pieces of plastic and a bit of velcro. Cheaper to just get a scratch or two and take some antibiotics afterwards. That's just highway robbery.
Yeah, that's insane. I was just researching for cat muzzles, and ended up here. I notice they're marketing it as a professional tool; that's how they jack the price. If it was marketed to the masses it would be $20. Maybe more since pet items are overpriced anyway. I make toys for my cat because they're better quality than the crap at the store. Gonna make her a scratch pad because they wanted $20 for some glued together cardboard at the store.
I have watched this video several times and I still CANNOT figure out how to use the darn thing. It slides right off my Shih Tzu's head. For something so expensive, you would have thought they would have provided instructions. I had to go on line to find this video, but I'm still at a loss as to how it works.
It looks good, but as a grroomer, hair will get in the velcro, the cat or dog will try to get muzzle of with his front paws. It looks like it can come of the head to easy. I like to try it for all the cats I groom. Cat bite can be so nasty. I have used a cone. Not to easy to get it on a mad cat. (-:
...i would rather use a proper muzzle not a nylon, a wire mesh kennel muzzle where they can still pant and bark but cant bite...this seems more stressful ...i mean what animal LIKES a cone?? and NO "ancient technology only holds the mouth closed" my arse..WIRE kennel muzzle is open and doesnt stop a dog from panting.. doesnt add extra weight to this extent or screw with the animals vision and depth perception...frankly having their head shoved into a tiny space is more scary..

thanks for the comment on this. you wouldnt believe some of the restraints i have seen online. lol
It looks like a really great device. Cheaper than a trip to the ER!!
I think it's more appropriate to say "VETERINARY TECHNICIAN" than to say "MY TECHNICIAN"
this product looks awesome i would love to use it in the shelter but it is way too expensive... $90 are you kidding me
Excellent idea but yeah ...it could be a little less expensive. Even at $50 you'd make a profit and sell many more.
its awesome! but because of the price ima make my own
Why does he take the blood of that poor cat only to show that this device is efective?
I am trying jorvet muzzle
Whatever happened to this product?

if this muzzle would be lighter, it might also work for two house male cats who keep on fighting each other and giving each other nasty bites

OzzieBloke hamster ball anyone?
I need this in my life
Seems like vets and groomers should anticipate bites as part of the job.

It reminds me of a hamster ball...
How could any dog carry something heavy on there faces
