    Rubicon 8 & Vokal owner. I've wanted Dali speakers since I heard the Helicons years ago. My Rubicon's are without a doubt the best, most versatile and amazing sounding speakers I've ever heard. I've listened to many different makes and models and nothing can touch them.

    Passion, commitment, painstaking dedication... and aiming for the stars - soundwise - with feet firmly on the ground - profitwise !
    On my recent trip to Coppenhagen I saw a big poster with a question: "Profit? Or Purpose?" With Dali - there is no dilemma. Purpose !!!

      @@trannel73 lovely :) although I must say I'm not sure I could tell the difference if I had the Opticon Mk2 here without the Rubicons next to them.

    These speakers are absolutely outstanding - I use two LCR as my main system, and with my setup I doubt you can get much finer sound! Especially considering their size and being wall mounted, but they are in a class of their own all together!

      i have the rubicon 2 with a pair of rel t7x subs...i wonder how much better the rubicon 6 over what i have?

    Ikon, opticon and now rubicon 2 owner.
    Dali state not to toe in speakers as of axis is better. My question is how is it best to sit in front of a rubicon vokal that has the hybrid tweeter? I sit on axis?
    Also my rubicon 2s do not have the wide dispersion of the ribbon tweeter so is it best to toe in slightly as to keep the strength of the highs intact at the listing spot?
    Thanks.

    is there a big difference between rubicon 6 and epicon 6 ? the price is not the same, maybe the rubicon 6 is better for the price ? i have seen somewhere rubicon is closed 70% to epicon ?

    I had these
    I then got the rubie 5
    The 5 has the air as well but smoother also with bass .
    The 2 s are pretty good

    Why do the motors of the woofers have flat back plates instead of rounded? Isn't rounded much better?

    If only the LCR came in mat black... Cinema speakers should be heard, not seen.

    Are theses speakers good for more than music? What about movies and games? And all kinds of music?

    • @dalispeakers
      @dalispeakers  6 лет назад +7

      Well, all of our speakers are suited for music as well as movies. Of course you could benefit of adding a subwoofer, if your main purpose is movies. And yes, all of our speakers work very well with different kinds of music. They are even clear with a wide sound stage at high volumes as well as low volumes, which you don't find with just any speaker brand. And of course the listening experience is great at any angle and not only in 'the sweet spot' due to our hybrid tweeter module with wide dispersion. /Dennis

      Thank you very much for the reply. Guess movies and games sort of go hand in hand with the quality being so high even in games theses days.

    No drivers de coupling ??? No silicon gaskets? Funny being cheap on a 3 euro huge improvement!!!!

    • @dalispeakers
      @dalispeakers  5 лет назад +14

      The debate about “decoupling” of drivers divide people into groups of people who are in favor and those who are against… But on top of that there are some other reality aspects to consider, as well:
      DALI has used silicon gaskets for various models over the years, particularly some years back. We used them mainly for their ability to seal the flange between the driver and the cabinet quite well, just like we use other types of gaskets for that nowadays.
      Whether needed or not, the decoupling effect of any elastic and damping material when used as a gasket turns out to be very limited, both because the material (also silicon) is compressed very heavily into forming an almost paper-thin structure to a point where all suspension effect is virtually lost! Another limiting factor is the metal screws used for fixing the driver to the speaker baffle firmly, as they form a very stiff structure along the chassis flange with the ability to couple the driver to the baffle and by that preventing most decoupling effects no matter which type - and shape - of gasket is used.
      As to the pro- or con decoupling aspect there are in fact also good reasons for COUPLING the driver’s chassis to the speaker’s baffle: The most important being “grounding” the driver’s chassis to something heavier than the actual driver itself, in order to minimize resulting reaction movement of the speaker itself driven by the driver cone’s opposing motion (counter force).
      Why is this also important? Well, a driver chassis in perfect rest forms the best possible foundation for the magnet motor to transfer all force and by that all motion in order to move the drivers moving system most accurately and with the highest possible dynamics!

      @@dalispeakers If we do have a flimsy, low mass frontal baffle, (????) at least a 2 cm mfd sanwiched with roofing tar material to another 2 cm mdf then we would have a decent baffle, add some plastiline gaskets, the drivers are yes, one thing with the cabinet, but some of spurious vibration somehow always created, get lost, to a degree of clarity unimaginable with 4000 euros loudspeakers, some diy, really work hard. and lots of internal mass, metallic panels to the internal cabinets walls and bracing, something the Industry cannot do!
