There’s a reason that our M-16 rifles needed a BFA on the end of the barrel to run in semi-auto or full auto when we were firing blanks. No back pressure with no round going down the barrel.
Halfmile says drop a .22 pellet in front of the blank. That will make it cycle, but the mag is designed for LRs so the blanks will jam the mag. A gun designed to run.22 shorts might work, but you would have to drop a pellet in the barrel every time.
I have some of those I like running in my Heritage Rough Rider. As the sun is going down makes a nice little fireball you can see. I put then in my girlfriend's Ruger SR22 but you had to recock it for every shot
Yup I agree. No back pressure. When the military uses blanks, they have a blank adapter that fits over the muzzle so the blowback will push the bolt back.
Hey brother, that failure to eject comes from a wore out magazine. The main ejector is actually the left feed lip. I have several mags with tens of thousands of rounds through them each and all stove pipe just like yours. I throw in a fresh factory mag and it runs like a sewing machine. Good video btw, i sometimes use the ramset blanks with alloy .22 pellets to get some outrageous velocities
I have that issue too on my 10/22, tried 4 fresh factory mags and still have the issue. Even replaced the extractor and it still jams. I clean it every time I use it and have tried different lubes on it. Polished the inside of the receiver. Ran hotter 22lr ammo in it to “break it in”. Nothing seems to help, still jams/stovepipes at least once (usually twice) every 20 rounds. Kinda sucks cause I’ve probably only put around 1500 rounds through the gun and I can’t seem to figure out why the problem isn’t fixed lol.
👍as always, if remember correctly , Taofledermaus, made some funny videos using those blanks, and loaded a lot of different 22 air-gun pellet in front of it, 2500 fps or so with light pellets, so if it is OK with you, a 22 rifle loaded with a blank and a 22 pellet in front of the blank, and the media we all love, the clay block. Have a nice day in Tennessee 🤠.
Love the high quality gunsmithing nail, you are using to unstick the stuck round in your magazine. Beats the old stick from ground unjammer, I have tried...
These blanks work best on single-shot bolt action rifles. You have to feed the pellet from the front of the barrel and leave enough space between pellet and blank to create a chamber.
i think the only way you could possibly get a semi auto to cycle would to have a the barrel blocked off or at least restricted so much that there would be enough gass pressure to cause blow back.
If you load.22 pellets, then the blank behind it, you can drive them at pretty crazy velocities. Not very accurate unless you use the heavier bullet shaped pellets though.
Dont work in mine. Not long enuff to pick up and chamber properly.. But will fire if loaded in chamber. No bolt extraction etc. Powder, pressure issue? Great vids. Thx. Oh. Relevant. I never paid attn to number on blank box. 2,3,4,5 etc.
I clean my ruger pretty much after each use because the kids will put a lot of rounds through it and it still stove pipes more than I like when freshly cleaned.
Would you be willing to do a video showing the chrono of a .22 from a pellet gun shot through a 22LR barrel driven by one of these blanks? Back yard science would be greatly advanced by your efforts!
Would it be possible to take those blanks used in nail guns and fit them with a .22 bullet to make them into actual .22 ammo? If so, it could be a work around for ammo shortages and places that limit tyhe purchase of ammo.
I’d like to see what happens if you put a 22 pellet in there and put one of those behind it. I’m guessing the pellet would have to be a certain distance into the barrel to work. Would be interesting.
I have the suspicion you don't exactly know how a semi-automatic rifle works. You need about four times the powder charge without a projectile to increase the pressure to activate the reloading.
oughtta try the most powerful blanks. I think they be purple, but ain't sure. I dare you to smack one with a hammer! I did some years ago, didn't get hurt at all.
Back in the day when I was in the army we had to put a device on the barrow to get the blanks to run more then one would think it would be the same maybe not!
Wtw.... if you can find or make a blank adapter for the .22 those blanks would possibly cycle the action on your 10-22. If the rifle is semi auto, usually you will have to have a blank adapter like we used during war games in the army we had on our m-16 rifles. Get ready to clean a dirty, fouled rifle afterwards though.
im 2 min into this...i think it may cycle it...if they r the hot blanks....22 bore may me small enough to build pressure....interesting. btw i've eyed those myself a time or two. great vid as always guy.
Put the right sized pellet in front of that and you will have a combo that is as close to a .22lr as you can get without actually using a legit .22lr cartridge.
Get the more powerful ones for the 10-22 they should be longer and at least cycle like a bolt action. If that's the case then you wrap a couple or more rubber bands one at a time around grip (hooking it through itself) and hook end onto charging handle till it almost but not quite pulls bolt back. I did same thing with a marlin model 60 and Remington speedmaster (any tube fed auto) to cycle those little low power shorts and cb caps. I'm sure that would work with those short blanks as well.
Don't know if someone suggested it or not but be pretty cool to insert them into a fruit like watermelon or cantaloupe and have just the primer side sticking out and you shoot a live round at it and see if you can hit the blank and possibly see if we can see a little fruit explosion of some magnitude
Put bb's or pellets or tiny stones in there see if it'll shoot them. Not really much to blanks but if they can propel a bb down the barrel and get me a squirrel when shtf that would be some useful information.
There’s a reason that our M-16 rifles needed a BFA on the end of the barrel to run in semi-auto or full auto when we were firing blanks. No back pressure with no round going down the barrel.
Also they actually make red and yellow BFAs for a short barrel the yellow, red the longer barrel. Didn't know that till after the military
It is physics - equal and opposite reaction. Unless you are throwing a mass down range, there is no force backwards.
You need to try those blanks in a bolt action or revolver with .22 pellets.
Muzzle load some .22 pellets in front of the loads them things will move with some crazy velocity
You need to throw in the “You just got jammed” clip from Parks and Rec lol
I love that gif, that would be hilarious
Thinkin the same! 🤣
@@buckberthod5007 yep

I personally think wheel guns would be the best bet with These bad boys, great show.
👍👍
Makes you appreciate how much power is behind a bullet, but it would be cool to see how much back pressure it created with a projectile in the end
I have some of those I like running in my Heritage Rough Rider. As the sun is going down makes a nice little fireball you can see. I put then in my girlfriend's Ruger SR22 but you had to recock it for every shot
I have to think not enough back pressure, there, you asked, I answered , now I can finish the video
Yup I agree. No back pressure. When the military uses blanks, they have a blank adapter that fits over the muzzle so the blowback will push the bolt back.
Hey if you get high cap mag, make sure it's ruger brand the hotlips aren't what they used to be.
I would love to see some new mosin nagant videos some time. Thank you for what you do!!

Maybe a lighter spring would help?
Thanks Adam
Thanks for watching Steve
Snake or rat shot.Good video. Best in a pistol or single shot. WTW
Thanks for watching Bruce
They have different power ramsets. Maybe try one of the higher powered ones and see if it will cycle.

You're mine for the 10/22 is the same mag I have for my Savage a r22 is the same magazine at first I did not like it but I have grown to like it
I wonder if the higher powered blanks might work.
My Ruger 10/22 will sometimes not cycle with shorts or subsonic rounds, but like you mentioned cleaning helps lol
Run it in the A.R.. I'll watch ... I love. Your video's Brother...
Appreciate you watching Joel
Havent even watched yet, but hit the like button.
Thank you!
Love the high quality gunsmithing nail, you are using to unstick the stuck round in your magazine. Beats the old stick from ground unjammer, I have tried...
I could run them through my marlin 39 and ruger single six and reenact a John Wayne movie.
This was very informative. Good to know.
i bet these may work in a lever action!
These blanks work best on single-shot bolt action rifles. You have to feed the pellet from the front of the barrel and leave enough space between pellet and blank to create a chamber.
Didn't think they'd cycle. See you on the next vid hopefully!
Good to know.

Hoser out with break free!👍🏾😀❤️🇺🇸
A Henry lever action might run those blanks
I see that some claim not to clean a 22 until not accurate any more. Thanks for the video
Thanks for watching Dwayne
Who-tee-who trying out all the options 👀 even the no bullet nail gun hilte action. Atleast we get a super neat bang out it. Who-tee-who
If you load.22 pellets, then the blank behind it, you can drive them at pretty crazy velocities. Not very accurate unless you use the heavier bullet shaped pellets though.
Dont work in mine.
Not long enuff to pick up and chamber properly..
But will fire if loaded in chamber.
No bolt extraction etc.
Powder,pressure issue?
Great vids.
Thx.
Oh.
Relevant.
I never paid attn to number on blank box.
2,3,4,5 etc.
I made a bfa blank firing adapter for my 22 semi auto worked but stuff is very dirty
I had tried that b4 But hey maybe it was 30 or so years ago. Lol. I’m happy to watch.
I clean my ruger pretty much after each use because the kids will put a lot of rounds through it and it still stove pipes more than I like when freshly cleaned.
Moral of story, just don’t do it, LMAO 😂 👍👍
They run great in lever action .22 rifles like the Henry, that’s the only .22 rifle I’ve had cycle shorts longs and blanks.
Maybe you could expand those and insert bullets in them? Ammo's expensive and hard to find. Might be an option! lol
shot some of those in a 9 inch barrel revolver as a kid. Looks just like the move fire balls out the muzzle.
Would you be willing to do a video showing the chrono of a .22 from a pellet gun shot through a 22LR barrel driven by one of these blanks? Back yard science would be greatly advanced by your efforts!
Love ur vids man! Picking up my 10/22 takedown tomorrow coincidentally! Much love from california!👍
Awesome video WTW. Great job bro. I like that rifle, by the way.🤘🏽
Hey Michael!
I had some 30-06 blanks from ww2 and shot in my garand without the blank adaptor it just shot but didn't function
Then blanks probably work real good and a old school revolver
Would it be possible to take those blanks used in nail guns and fit them with a .22 bullet to make them into actual .22 ammo? If so, it could be a work around for ammo shortages and places that limit tyhe purchase of ammo.
brother please do not do that,i highly recommend you dont alter them at all.
Those blanks act just like the Calibre rounds...should be perfect for tube fed lever or bolt action
tube feed will try ro feed two blanks. At least my winchester pump will. It won't run shorts either.
Huge prelude to do a 2 second show
I’d like to see what happens if you put a 22 pellet in there and put one of those behind it. I’m guessing the pellet would have to be a certain distance into the barrel to work. Would be interesting.
Taofladermaus did it they were fast
Some friends of mine did that in the 80’s. We used it as long range pigeon control since it would reach out farther than our cheap ass BB guns.
What about packing a few BBs in the blank itself?
I have the suspicion you don't exactly know how a semi-automatic rifle works. You need about four times the powder charge without a projectile to increase the pressure to activate the reloading.

Clean or dirty I never could get a semi auto .22 to cycle reliably.
Wtw.... if you can find or make a blank adapter for the .22 those blanks would possibly cycle the action on your 10-22. If the rifle is semi auto, usually you will have to have a blank adapter like we used during war games in the army we had on our m-16 rifles. Is anybody else wondering why you buy 22 blanks but you can’t buy 22 ammo anywhere
im 2 min into this...i think it may cycle it...if they r the hot blanks....22 bore may me small enough to build pressure....interesting. btw i've eyed those myself a time or two. great vid as always guy.
Since you're aiming at the target to shoot a blank, why not put a .22 pellet in front of the blank to see what it does?
I wonder how much pressure there would be if it was driving a bullet might be too much they seem powerful in a nail gun,
I wonder if it would work it a tube fed .22, you know what I mean.
When I go shooting after I clean the Gun
Put the right sized pellet in front of that and you will have a combo that is as close to a .22lr as you can get without actually using a legit .22lr cartridge.
After those blanks you might need to clean that 10/22!
no projectile , no backward push on the bolt = bolt didnt even move.
Same thinking here
Maybe you can hunt brood x with them lol
I have use those in my SR-22, loading one at a time
Great video man I’ve always wondered if they would run in a real firearm
I finally watched it

I wonder if they’d work in a starter pistol? Look a little long.
try using the #5 load more power to run the bolt
Make a VIDEO on how to clean a 10/22!
Haven’t seen heavy metal for a couple of days hope everything is ok
G’day mate you need to get a 17WSM rimfire cheers from Australia
Yes I do
We would have never known
We use those blanks to shoot 22 pellets and they are more powerful than shooting 22 ammo
I would expect the same results with .22 lr shot shells. No semi auto . Not enough or no mass
Good video
...another cool vid....thx WTW
Thanks for watching!
52 minutes late and I am 100% positive it will not work
Still a fun video 🤗
What if you put a rivet in the muzzle, would the blank shoot it far ?
@William Yeager i was thinking putting the stem down the barrel and the cap resting on top the mussel
In the house 🏠
Hey Gunning
Don't know if someone suggested it or not but be pretty cool to insert them into a fruit like watermelon or cantaloupe and have just the primer side sticking out and you shoot a live round at it and see if you can hit the blank and possibly see if we can see a little fruit explosion of some magnitude
Try A tube fed mag 22 cal.
Have u caught a 7 mag in the water jugs??
Don't remember
...oh yeah....nice plinker....nice tshirt....
💥💥💥
Put bb's or pellets or tiny stones in there see if it'll shoot them. Not really much to blanks but if they can propel a bb down the barrel and get me a squirrel when shtf that would be some useful information.
Tauflademaus(?) Has done it. It actually works fairly well
Throw some in a single shot 22 that would be cool to see
You just got jammed...giggity goo!
WTW there's a video right there how to clean the ruger 10/22 👍
You only got ONE 10/22 mag?
Shame, shame, shame. - Gomer Pyle
Yes. Everything costs money 🤷♂️
Try it in a lever action
I thought that in Tennessee it was against the law to say "let her rip" without following up with "tater chip".
😝😝😝
Interesting!
Its a 22 short. It will not run on that rifle.
Song please???
Good for scaring birds. Used in hangers
Without putting holes in the sheet metal.
