The blacker the berry, the sweeter the juice The blacker the berry, the sweeter the juice The blacker the berry, the sweeter the juice The blacker the berry, the BIGGER I SHOOT
When I saw the day where Twitter was convinced this album was bad I was sad , not just as a Kendrick fan , but as a hip hop fan it seems as if albums as we know it is gonna be changed forever in what people consider good. It seems people now prefer a playlist of random songs with no theme as long as the beat sounds good. No story No purpose needed
@@Pokemonfan612when people say it’s the best album of all time that definitely makes it susceptible to being called overrated. It’s a good album though
3:09 hes saying "the blacker the berry the sweeter the juice" until the end of the lines he says "the bigger I shoot" and then I think its "they treat me like a sl@ve call me black, do you feel the leap of pain call me black"
@@Toivious I said they treat me like a slave, cah' me black Woi, we feel a whole heap of pain, cah' we black And man a say they put me inna chains, cah' we black Imagine now, big gold chains full of rocks How you no see the whip, left scars pon' me back But now we have a big whip parked pon' the block All them say we doomed from the start, cah' we black Remember this, every race start from the block, just remember that
For me, it's the part of the verse before 0:03 "What you want? You a house or car? 40 acres and a mule? A piano a guitar? Anything, see my name is Uncle Sam, I'm your dog. Motherfucker you can live at the mall! I know your kind (That's why I'm kind) No receipts man? (Aw man that's fine) Pay me later, wear those gators. Cliche? Then say fuck your haters!" This part essentially shows America (Uncle Sam) convincing Kendrick (Black people) to trust him and spend money irresponsibly(Waer those gators) and fall into debt ( Pay me later). The verse goes even harder into this theme later on, but this specific part will be my favorite on this verse because of the low instrumental in the back. Can sing this whole section of it.
That's probably my favourite verse ever. "I can see the baller in you I can see the dollar in you Little white lies, but it's no white collar in you But it's whatever, though, because I'm still following you Because you make me live forever, baby, count it all together, baby Then hit the register and make me feel better, baby"
i'd personally change mortal man to either the first 15 seconds or the last 15 seconds. Kendrick saying "Pac?" at the end with the crazy instrumentals always get me emotional
Man. I fw this content. Most people would usually post this video like “here’s the 15 seconds, you can’t debate anything better” and the comments go ape shit. This video actually explains why they are your favorite and they are all valid explanations which leaves me no reason to be upset or anything. We need to move this way for content. Good shit bro ❤️
I would change king kunta to the part the breakdown where Kendrick is rapping to just the bass cuz the flow is crazy Also in how much a dollar cost I would change it to the part where Kendrick repeats “he staring at me” cuz it’s incredible how well he communicates the situation, it paints the picture in your head perfectly
imo the best bit of instatutionslkzed is the first verse or kendrick’s verse cus his tiny little voice fits really well with the beat and has a nice glow
nah blacker the berry is the end of the last verse when the beat stops n he's just spitting heat. and how much a dollar cost is so obviously the god reveal.
I agree with almost all of these 100% but on Alright my favorite part is the first verse especially NOW TELL MY MOMMA I LOVE HER BUT THIS WHAT I LIKE, LORD KNOOWWSSS

not watched it yet but i guess its the blacker the berry jamaican man

This why I don’t have twitter… what even was their argument that this is remotely bad??
@@mexicanink746Because Cole said it was bad, or more specifically boring and overrated, if I had to guess
@@Pokemonfan612then him saying that kept him awake at night and tore him up so bad he took his shit off streaming and apologized at a festival lmaoooo

personally i think the part at the start of hood politics is the best, i really need a full song over that beat
Yeah I’m honestly a little disappointed he didn’t use that beat instead.
Boo boo

I love the flow and cadence in that one bar from "You ain't gotta lie", makes me bop my head up and down

tbh every take is W but i do thing the "I am god" bit in how much a dollar cost is slightly better than the bit afterwards
In my opinion the rest of the song after the phone call in Wesley’s theory goes SO hard istg

Last verse on these walls. The vocal effects, instrumentation, the diss, and reveal
