Would have thought a country like Romania (or Poland) would tell Russia because of the danger of Russian missiles, any that get within 20ks of their territory are going down, to protect their citizens
Its the decision of Romania, not the NATO organization as a whole, to decide how to respond to Russian drones overflying their airspace.
Yes NATO is very weak, its like 80% American. I dont know if you know but recruitment is way down in the States, also Canada and Britain barely have troops only weapons because no one wants to join the army anymore for reason i cant say on youtube.

Turkey shoots down aircraft, not a drone. It is difficult to shut down drones flying in another country's airspace same when drones came into Romania they were already disabled (only impact crater not an explosion crater).

Polish here, hearing out how many russian incursions of NATO borders have not been intercepted, and still remembering the march missile that flew into poland, i am super confused what our air defence is doing
They are watching,but choose to not act.
Russian aircraft test response times and boundaries with American airspace many times a year. Ships, too, a notable incident had a Russian fighter jet buzz an American aircraft carrier. It doesn't usually make the news. (Buzzing the carrier did make the news, that was a pretty big deal). (Edit: it was a US destroyer, but still a close pass of only 20 meters or so; back in 2016). (Edit: actually, it looks like I consolidated them in my mind, this has happened a few times to different ships)
Missiles and drones are something else, though. That's not routine, that is Russia trying out excuses in a much more tense situation. NATO air space has had jets scrambled 500 times this year and, so far, Russian response has been to turn around. They are probing.
Before the war Russia routinely approached Canadian/US air space dozens of times/year, that part is nothing new. They would skirt European NATO airspace as well. What is new is the use of non-aircraft devices for incursions into countries they've named as 'next'. They want to escalate, and are waiting for a point where they are not noticed or where only one of several are noticed, or a response fails. Or, perhaps, they want to overwhelm response ability and to see if that is possible.
Getting 150K subscribers is no joke, especially considering that often the subjects are emotionally difficult. When I first discovered this channel, it was around 6 or 7K. One of my first comments (if not the first) was along the lines the channel will succeed. Glad to be right in that regard.

Dear Anna, I love your channel but let us get some perspective here. The sabre-rattling by the Chinese and Russian bombers over Alaska is meaningless and routine. They were in international airspace scrambled by Canadian and US pilots, so nothing wrong there, just like our drones flying regularly over the Black Sea picking out Russian targets. As for the debris that fell on Romanian soil, of course this is a provocation, just like when a similar occurrence was observed in Poland. The best response from the West would be to remove all restrictions and up the ante, i.e. increase the support for Ukraine. But dont expect this incident to trigger Article 5.
I understand it’s not the time for Article 5, but it’s totally ok to shoot down anything military that crosses your border illegally

Sweden didnt accept that the SU-24 was inside Swedish border. We sent 2 Gripen against the aircraft and the russian pilot went back.
Same was in Finland.

The European Union's foreign policy chief, Josep Borell, has stripped Hungary of the right to host the next meeting of foreign and defence ministers over its stance on the war in Ukraine...
Citing comments made after the meeting with Mr Putin in which Mr Orban accused the EU of having a "pro-war policy", Mr Borrell told reporters: "If you want to talk about the war party, talk about Putin....
"I can say that all member states - with one single exception - are very much critical about this behaviour....

Years ago Russia tested Turkey's airspace by sending a plane there. Turkey promptly shot it down and then demanded an apology from Russia. Since then Russia has respected Turkey and have not messed around with them. There was no escalation. I do not understand how NATO leaders can either forget or learn from this vivid lesson!
Anna you are correct. NATO members have no stomach for a war. Sadly, Russia will keep on testing article 5 because Russia knows there will be no response. I absolutely despise this obvious weakness in these NATO leaders. It makes me feel sick.

NATO just does not really wish this to be NATO vs Russia. The Russian military would last about as long versus NATO as Putin thought Ukraine would last versus Russia. Something I would suggest to NATO is if NATO and its airpower showed up on the ground in Ukraine, the Russian military would most likely surrender. Putin may want that war but the Russian military, I can pretty much guarantee, does not. They more correctly understand where they stand than does Darth Putrid. Russian can only barely press on Ukraine's military. They would not survive a minute of a full out war with NATO. As per General Hodges, Russia has no upside to the use of any nukes so that is only warm air. The first rule of diplomacy is to operate from a position of strength (I think Tsun Tsu said something about that also). With NATO's strength, Putin will eventually be forced to back down, maybe not but anything is possible until it is not. Just remember back to Kuwait and shock and awe.

I joined the channel after your first chat with Jake Broe, when you had around 18,000 family members. I have watched you ever since. Unfortunately (or not!), I live in Thailand and I am asleep when your video comes out and when you do 'live' broadcasts. Originally I am from UK, where I had a full military career, ending up as a one-star officer. Can I ask a question? In your early videos, you showed us with your university students, but I have not heard about them in a long while - are you still at university? I would not be surprised if you weren't, what with writing a book and all the different aspects of youtube etc. Thanks for all that you do, it makes the life of 'the Ukrainian' become clearer. I found Jake's channel when Anna did that chat with him. I had followed Anna since she had 5.2k friends. It had slowly grown to 7k when she was interviewed by Jake. The next morning Anna had 12k subscribers, the next day she had 17k and the day after that she had over 20k friends.
I asked a similar question about her teaching a while back. She said she was teaching less classes since she had started doing research for her post doctoral degree. I look forward to celebrating that accomplishment with her. Anna is amazing, my words are inadequate. I've learned so much from our professor. I look forward to reading her book. I still have a lot to learn.

As for the entering NATO airspace(s), I am sure every single time is one step closer for russia to deserve *all* that it will eventually get. I tend to agree with you, Anna. It is incredibly frustrating to not see official responses, because to me, nipping future problems in the bud, ought to be as widely known about and evident as the acts of russia entering such airspace.
But that's not to say it will *never* be dealt with aptly, and possibly that will be with a substantial element of force from NATO member states... We may currently appear to be weak, or we may be overly tolerant to the russian eye, but that does not mean that they've got away with everything they've ever done; nor will they... in the end!
We have a beautiful idiom that some would deem befitting... "Revenge is a dish best served cold!"

Hi Anna , Yes I well remember the Turkish incident and I am angry at the lack of response from NATO countries today and wonder what it would take to get a reaction. The russians continue to probe reaction times by flying close to but just outside a countries airspace; it has been a regular feature on the UK's East coast and the planes are regularly intercepted by the RAF . I started with Denys Davydos a Ukrainian aircraft pilot on 737 commercial jets that spoke Ukrainian & Russian and was learning English by watching "Friends" (when RUclips did not have any restrictions and I saw the drone drop the grenade into the open roof of a pickup truck Truck stopped moving) Then found Jake Broe who recommended Anna from Ukraine before his 40th birthday. I believe you guys were just into building the NAFOE trucks. You were a stunning blonde who spoke pretty good English though ATACMS was hard for you to say as you forgot the "CMS because that is not how you read Ukrainian" It has been awhile. I never mark anything down becuz I did not know there was going to be a TEST. However you were always pretty to me so I subscribed to your site as the first one. I also watch "War in Ukraine" I did like the fact you numbered your vlogs...but I can't recall when I subscribed(maybe 350)?
