At the same time, Sunset Shimmer's voice actress and singing voice is Rebecca Shoichet. That's why I think this video is great because Rebecca Shoichet is singing with two different tones. I actually forgot how the original sounded like, but after I listened this version, it stick with me. This version is much more memorable and catchy for me. And given the fact this movie was about Sunset and Sci-Twi: this song shows the parallels beetween them and I love it!
They took this song out because the ending of this movie was going to be different. But since they xhanged the ending, they also had to change the song. In the alternate ending, twilight was going to be sent back to crystal prep after getting a better understanding and bond with her classmates. While sunset had made a decision to stay in the human world. As nice of a lesson as this would’ve been, I feel this would make a better ending to the very last EQG movie/special we would ever see. Also only Rebecca can pull off a duet with herself XD (Rebecca Shoicet voices and sings sunset but also sings twilight)

Because sunset still feels out of place. even after all the shorts and movies to me it is like she is beyond the others. the others behave more childish than her (we don't talk about the downgrade sci-twi got...) and with that they could now freely jump inside portals into equestria and meet their counterparts was destroying it even more. to me sunset just like the dazzlings won't belong in the world. the dazzling (THANK GOODNESS) still weren'T redeemed and still waited for the opportunity to get their hands on magic since they suffer in the human world. i see sunset the same just erased for the sake of "friendship" (real friends would have asked you about how you feel in the human world andyour future and if you want to go back )
Suddenly Sunset also singing in "Right There In Front of Me" makes a lot more sense. It's role as the response/resolution to this song means that logically it would have both of them singing as well.
Honestly, they need a directors cut of this. The storyboard transitions look so cool! They can keep the released version, but release tge original idea as a direcrors cut movie. I'm sure the fandom would love to see it.

I love so much how Equestria girls turned out; with fun storylines and amazing songs! (Even though I’m still kind of sad it never had a proper ending) But I almost wish that they had kept the original plot. (Sunset feeling homesick but ultimately deciding to stay. Then in the next movie is forced to return to Equestria to maintain balance, because human Sunset shows up.) Even though we would have never had legend of everfree, and some of my most favorite songs from EG, that would’ve made the best ending for the series! Especially because we most likely would have had sunset in the real show. That’s something I wanted so badly for years..

There's a commentary version to this song. They tried, they really wanted to keep it. But it didn't fit with the new script/story changes. They had to drop it because it won't fit with the flow of the story.

as cool as this version is, and as much as i like the idea of exploring sunset missing equestria, on the surface of it... i do feel like it was the right choice to cut it. i think even introducing the idea of "sunset might want to return to equestria" runs the risk of making the rest of eqg feel like a bit of a bummer when she inevitably stays in the human world, because we'd always have this in the back of our minds and not be sure if she's happy.
I personally wished that this sub pilot would’ve stayed in the flim and then had them in the future and Sunset Shimmer is my favorite character long side Rainbow Dash I just wished they all would’ve be able to tell their stories in Equestria Girls because they never got the ending we needed 😞

In 1:12 Sunset waves at them and they are holding to each other from the arms and when she passes next to them in 1:15 they are hugging. Crystal Prep are a group of Obnoxious jerks, after what they did to CHS students, Sci-Twi and Rarity, Cinch is the most evilest woman in Equestria Girls, image she returns and seeks revenge on the Rainbooms for losing her job as Principal and being Humiliated at the Friendship games, and she's probably the laughingstock of the School Board, can you imagine what would have come to her
I'm actually on board with that. Seeing Cinch with a revenge story could really be interesting, maybe even using Twilight's old device as a way to enact her vengeance.

I'm still upset about the fact that we didn't get this version in the film, but also what was supposed to be the series finale of EG with that special of Sunset returning to Equestria. Sunset deserved better.
I agree with you. As an EG fan, I feel like the entire series progressively lost purpose after Friendship Games.
Same, I would have loved her returning and coming back as a recurring character for the main series.

It's so higher pitched because if not it might be similar to the sound of the Sunset. Because Rebecca voiced both Twi and Sunset in this song.
tho this song hits so differently now that my dad died he worked on this thing in particular i remember when he took me to the movies when the movie came out i think he had a more developed version of this animatic with more color and stuff that he showed me on his computer
Super random and late, but the very beginning of the song, the instrumentals sound like “You’ll Play Your Part”, which is a song about Twilight not feeling like she’s fitting in. Idk if i’m looking too into it or am not hearing correct, but i think that’s kinda cool :))
Crystal Prep are a group of Obnoxious jerks, after what they did to CHS students, Sci-Twi and Rarity, Cinch is the most evilest woman in Equestria Girls, image she returns and seeks revenge on the Rainbooms for losing her job as Principal and being Humiliated at the Friendship games, and she's probably the laughingstock of the School Board, can you imagine what would have come to her
I'm actually on board with that. Seeing Cinch with a revenge story could really be interesting, maybe even using Twilight's old device as a way to enact her vengeance.
Onlythestrong12 yeah like after she got fired or replaced from her job as Principal of Crystal Prep she found Twilight's old device (Which she used to turn into Midnight Sparkle), and she takes it and plan to gather from Broken Magic items like the Mirror, the memory stone and Vigette Valencia's phone to plot her revenge on The Rainbooms, I mean after a person like Cinch would want revenge for losing everything
Perfect MLP revenge plot, and maybe create the world to her image, a broken, fractured reality.

Totally agreed. She was at Galacon the year after the movie premiered, and I asked her about it. She said that both characters' voices come from a different place, so she could "easily" keep them separate and distinct.
