Technically pink Celestia is kind of accurate, just a very wrong shade. As someone mentioned in another video/post you can tell a ponies coat color by their outlines. Rarity is meant to be white and has gray lines, Celestia has pale pink lines hinting her coat is meant to be a very light (almost white) shade of pink. This is made a tad more obvious I believe in Equestria girls alter, as she has a much pinker hue than Rarity
You're right about Rainbow Dash. I remember when I used to collect MLP toys when I was younger, Rainbow Dash always had a red, orange, yellow, and green mane, with a blue and purple tail in brushable figures, and I also remember seeing a toy of her with a red, orange, and yellow mane with a purple tail. Her blind bag figures always had red, orange, yellow and green mane, with a blue, purple, and red tail. A blind bag figure of her was missing green in her mane, and I also had a puzzle eraser of her where her hair was red, yellow, and blue.

The Princess Luna ornament at 3:45 is based on her first appearance from the show. She appeared like that after she got turned back into Princess Luna after being Nightmare Moon for a long time. My mom also got me that ornament when I was in elementary school. 🌙

Agh I'm so glad to see someone talking about the toy inaccuracies. For some reason the blind bags always annoyed me the most. Like, I know they can't make a unique mold for every background pony, but come on.
The Luna Ornament would have been nearly spot on if it was younger Luna, though the hair is a little too purple. Her hair in the show was a very pale blue with a whisper of purple, but if you just quickly glanced at it, it would have been blue.
The princess Luna onement was for her when she had just come back as nightmare moon at the beginning of the show. So, it is actually more accurate than most of the ones I have seen. (Also, I have that ornament lol)
Dang, this really makes you wonder who's okaying these toys in hasbro. Nice video, and here's a question for your qna: Any backstory on your OC and their cutie mark? An F- for a mark sounds like my life in a nutshell tbh 😂 #AskEffAnything
I quite like the toys which are either based on older ponies or are toy-exclusive ponies, or otherwise not necessarily tied to being a show character. I think it's really cool to have toys which don't have an attached storyline or personality, so you're able to make up your own!
I’m not sure about the pony names, but I think it has something to do with translation, since it’s common for characters to be named something completely different in other countries. I guess they can’t be bothered to change the name of the packaging after. Or maybe it’s like a Simpsons thing where they made toys first before the show came out, and those are prototype names. I’m not sure I could be wrong.
I honestly loved the last part where you did the big reveal. That was so funny lol. I've never seen your channel before and found you when I was trying to find tutorials on how to fix up thrifted pony toys and I'm glad it showed up!
The coconut cream blindbag came out WAY before show coconut cream did, she was one of the first few blindbag figures Also the Luna ornament is based on her purple toy appearance Dazzle works as Diamond Tiara's middle name imo, and I actually like Snips and Snail's full names. Daring Do Dazzle is weird though, and I'm pretty neutral on Dazzle Cake.
A friend of mine in the fifth grade had a my little pony lanyard that she showed me. It had all the mane 6 on it and a background of ponyville. The only problem is that fluttershy had pinkies eye shape and "energetic" pose on most merch and posters while pinkie had fluttershys iconic, head tilted down "shy" pose with flutters eye shape.
The first ponies you showed off are budget ponies so they lack a lot of details intentionally. The ponies after most of them were made before they even got a show counterpart. For example coconut cream was made into that toy in 2010-2011 that little Philly didn’t even show up until 2014ish. The tv team and toy team are not always on part. Some of the names like “daring do dazzle” were also added for Copyright on toys.
a lot of toys are apparently based more on concept art/early designs of characters, like celestia being pink in a lot of early toys, but i have no idea why non-early toys are so... like that
2:08 Yes, because the blind bag coconut cream came out in 2011 (if you need help getting accurate release dates for mlp toys the website strawberry reef is your friend) was based on her Gen 3 design, and of course doesn’t look identical to her Gen 3 design because this is generation 4 and characters are rarely going to look identical whether they’re an actual character in the show or a reference in merch. The show character coconut cream debuted in “Fame and Misfortune”, an episode which released 6 years later. 5:57 the definition of dazzle they’re using is right under; “amaze or overwhelm (someone) with a particular impressive quality” 3:49 this is obviously based on Luna’s original appearance from season 1 and is pretty accurate to it yet for whatever reason you’re comparing it to her redesign from season 2
toy production (from initial design to final toy) can actually take up to about 2 years in some cases, so my theory is a lot of the inaccuracies come from the fact that they changed something in the show after they finalized the toys. also, toy company executives have a lot of say in what comes out, and everything has to be what they think is “””marketable””” (ex. pink celestia)
I live in Turkiye and in my childhood i bought a lot of MLP Magazines because they came up with their own toys. That is why most of the MLP toys i have are from those magazines. I have about 2 inaccurate toys that came up from those magazines plus 2 inaccurate toys that were gifted to me. Even tho these are not big deals but i still wanted to share nevertheless; 1- Princess Cadence's Cutie Mark In the toy i have, her cutie mark has little red dots even tho she normally doesn't. 2- Cheerilee's Cutie Mark I am not even sure if the toy is Cheerilee but the eye, mane and skin colour is the same so I'm gonna assume this toy is Cheerilee. Her canon cutie mark has 3 little daisies while this toy has one big smiling pink flower and two little purple flowers and a couple of leaves. 3- Discord's Leg Dot I remember being so happy that the maganize came up with a Discord Figure because that would be my first non-Pony figure from the Franchise but it came with a... BROWN DOT UP HIS LEG?!?! It looks so bad. So, Discord has one green leg, right? And up his leg, on the down part on his body is a big light-brown oval-shaped part. It is not paint because when you touch it you can feel its parts. It is so weird. I first thought it might be where they were gonna place the other leg since it has the same colour but who knows? Nevertheless I still want a new Discord toy :( 4- AJ's Cutie Mark. Ah, yes, an Apple Jack toy! Hardest to find among the Mane 6- no, hardest to find among the WHOLE FREAKING FRANCHISE! And guess what? It has only one apple as her cutie mark instead of three, and the freaking leaves are somehow red as well... I'm off....
I love how theres so much extensive lore but every five minutes you hear a name like "Seabiscuit Sunshine" or "Hip Hop Hoola Hoop" this show, even with its blemishes, is a masterpiece😂❤
5:31 the only explanation I can think of why they put the word "dazzle" everywhere, is if the toy line they were sold in was "The Dazzle Collection" or something but I really have no other guess 😂 If anyone of you guys know anything please let me know 🤣
The Luna Ornament is based off her design in her first apperance. After that, it was changed to the one you now know today. There is multiple merch of both designs. I also ,sadly, own that Twilight ornament along with a PINK Celestia doll Which always confused me AND MY PARENTS.
I am in the middle of rewatching (for the 3rd time?) all of the seasons of MLP (season 6 currently) and I am also stuck in 2010 I started rewatching some old animation and stumbled on you in my recommendations.. and I am so happy I did! Thanks for the video and here goes the subscription ~
The Fluttershy ornament with Pinkie Pie's cutie mark might have been based on the episode they swapped cutie marks (same episode Twilight got wings and became a princess).
I have the Twilight & Applejack ornaments! Even when I first got them when I was 8 I thought they were ugly. They typically go to the back of our tree, & as much as I hate having to put ponies at the back, I have a G1 pony ornament who's gorgeous so it's not a complete loss lol
I was always annoyed by these inaccuracies when I was a kid, like how every blind bag pegasus was just a recolored Rainbow Dash model, including Fluttershy's. They didn't give her her own model until like 2014 or something. Also I hated how their cutie marks were only printed on one side. They just hoped that kids wouldn't notice these things but they were WRONG! ...not that it mattered because I bought the toys anyway
I had those figures as a kid, and I just accepted that they were repaints of the mane six. It’s cool to find out that they actually have names & characters in the show (horrible colour matching pushed aside).
3:44 ok I think this one may be a reference to her original design which was showcased directly after she de-transforms for nightmare moon, and for a couple seasons onward, before her design that we all know today came to be, showing how she’d matured. Plus, she gained the flowy moving hair (which must’ve been a ‘nightmare’ to animate) haha

In the Season 3 finale, where everyone's cutie marks were mixed up and swapped, Fluttershy had Pinkie Pie's cutie mark, so maybe that christmas toy was referencing that
I use to collect the McDonald’s Mlp toys(way back when twilight was still a unicorn) most of them looked fine, except Celestia. They made her pink, instead of white. Luna also looked weird but I remember hating that Celestia toy so much😭 And for some reason they did this all the time until later seasons.
I agree. I really hate the one sided cutie marks too. They reuse molds in blind bags. Forsythia and Fizzy Pop are two of them. And also there’s a Fluttershy made from Rainbow Dash. And Star Swirl is totally off cause he hadn’t debuted onscreen yet. Even when colors are accurate the faces often aren’t
2:41 pretty sure that toy model of Coconut Cream is made from the same mold of Applejack based on the mane and tail shape and how the tail looks like it has a tie in it
0:27 Dude, I just picked up a set of these in Dollar General for $20. Dashes mane and tail is painted the most beautiful and accurate rainbow. I don't even like the character (and I hate Pony Life) but this figure is gorgeous! Twilight has the proper double stripes on her mane and one side of her tail and Applejack has her hair tie on her mane and tail painted red.
If I remember correctly, the reasoning for why some of the toys inexplicably have different names is because you can't copyright names that are just real words, so they have on tack on a last name for the legal team. Zero clue about Suri becoming "Buttonbelle", though.
The Fluttershy one is a flash back to the Cutie Mark Swap When Twilight had to help her friends remind her friends who they was. True True Friends is the song running in my head rent free 😢
Hair inaccuracies are what got me into custom painting. Acrylics and nail polish are fun to use on the mini-figures. Edit: It turns out that clear nail polish yellows over time. Acrylics and polyurethane satin varnish are fun to use on the mini-figures.

Let's not forget that Hasbro always seems to forget Applejack's hat for Applejack figurines...
I know that AJ obviously has hair, but she just looks bald without her hat (imo)
@@luvhsparkle I don't own any MLP toys (because I only recently got into MLP in 2023), but just the fact that you would have to use the EG AJ's hat just because the pony AJ toy doesn't have her hat is honestly kinda sad...
Can't believe even Hasbro themselves would forget such an important detail for one of their characters 🤦
they sometimes give her a hat but make it blue for some reason
@@lily_maija a BLUE hat!? For Applejack!?
I...I-I just can't 😭
Agh I'm so glad to see someone talking about the toy inaccuracies. For some reason the blind bags always annoyed me the most. Like, I know they can't make a unique mold for every background pony, but come on.
NAHHH THEY DID THEM DIRTY😭😭
IKR😭😭

The Luna Ornament would have been nearly spot on if it was younger Luna, though the hair is a little too purple. Her hair in the show was a very pale blue with a whisper of purple, but if you just quickly glanced at it, it would have been blue.
8:02 if that's sunnset shimmer i'm batman
As a flutter shy fan, that intro made my jaw drop
8:00 I knew it would be sunset shimmer but I didn't realise it would look t h a t b a d
The princess Luna onement was for her when she had just come back as nightmare moon at the beginning of the show. So, it is actually more accurate than most of the ones I have seen. (Also, I have that ornament lol)
Yeah she was kinda purple then
I haven't seen any very inaccurate toys yet except the Sapphire Shores figure
Well that changed in the first few seconds

Why does it kinda look sus lmao
I think I’ll what ur talkin abt…
Lol
I think they forgot to clean it after removing it-

Dang, this really makes you wonder who's okaying these toys in hasbro. Nice video, and here's a question for your qna: Any backstory on your OC and their cutie mark? An F- for a mark sounds like my life in a nutshell tbh 😂 #AskEffAnything
I quite like the toys which are either based on older ponies or are toy-exclusive ponies, or otherwise not necessarily tied to being a show character. I think it's really cool to have toys which don't have an attached storyline or personality, so you're able to make up your own!
Wow, did your kintergarten teacher give you a gold star for being so inclusive?
@@WitchKing-Of-Angmar can't a girl just like ponies for design alone 😔

@@WitchKing-Of-Angmar did your 'kintergarten' teacher give you a gold star for spelling
It has to do with trademarking actually
if they used prototype names then some of the earlier toys wouldve been "twilight twinkle" or "apple blossom" i don't think it's prototype names
@@memethyst yeah, I wasn’t sure about that one so it was like a stab in the dark, like the first reply says, it’s probably for copyright reasons.
@@memethystThey lost the copyright to Apple Blossom.
I honestly loved the last part where you did the big reveal. That was so funny lol. I've never seen your channel before and found you when I was trying to find tutorials on how to fix up thrifted pony toys and I'm glad it showed up!
3:50 I think they were going for younger luna who has those colors
The coconut cream blindbag came out WAY before show coconut cream did, she was one of the first few blindbag figures
Also the Luna ornament is based on her purple toy appearance
Dazzle works as Diamond Tiara's middle name imo, and I actually like Snips and Snail's full names.
The ornament princess Luna isn't off. She's just the colour of younger princess luna when she was freed in the second episode.☺
a lot of toys are apparently based more on concept art/early designs of characters, like celestia being pink in a lot of early toys, but i have no idea why non-early toys are so... like that
3:49 hey with this one that is younger Luna that is Lunas real colours it’s just her from season 1
True
2:08 Yes, because the blind bag coconut cream came out in 2011 (if you need help getting accurate release dates for mlp toys the website strawberry reef is your friend) was based on her Gen 3 design, and of course doesn’t look identical to her Gen 3 design because this is generation 4 and characters are rarely going to look identical whether they’re an actual character in the show or a reference in merch. The show character coconut cream debuted in “Fame and Misfortune”, an episode which released 6 years later.
5:57 the definition of dazzle they’re using is right under; “amaze or overwhelm (someone) with a particular impressive quality”
3:49 this is obviously based on Luna’s original appearance from season 1 and is pretty accurate to it yet for whatever reason you’re comparing it to her redesign from season 2
SMART
THANK YOU!!! something i realized is that this guy LOVES to hate, without doing any real research, just to pump out more content.
The Luna ornament isn't that bad since they based it off of how she looked in the first season, but the rest are god awful
toy production (from initial design to final toy) can actually take up to about 2 years in some cases, so my theory is a lot of the inaccuracies come from the fact that they changed something in the show after they finalized the toys. also, toy company executives have a lot of say in what comes out, and everything has to be what they think is “””marketable””” (ex. pink celestia)
I live in Turkiye and in my childhood i bought a lot of MLP Magazines because they came up with their own toys. That is why most of the MLP toys i have are from those magazines. I have about 2 inaccurate toys that came up from those magazines plus 2 inaccurate toys that were gifted to me. Even tho these are not big deals but i still wanted to share nevertheless;
1- Princess Cadence's Cutie Mark
In the toy i have, her cutie mark has little red dots even tho she normally doesn't.
2- Cheerilee's Cutie Mark
I am not even sure if the toy is Cheerilee but the eye, mane and skin colour is the same so I'm gonna assume this toy is Cheerilee.
Her canon cutie mark has 3 little daisies while this toy has one big smiling pink flower and two little purple flowers and a couple of leaves.
3- Discord's Leg Dot
I remember being so happy that the maganize came up with a Discord Figure because that would be my first non-Pony figure from the Franchise but it came with a...
Nevertheless I still want a new Discord toy :(
4- AJ's Cutie Mark.
Ah, yes, an Apple Jack toy! Hardest to find among the Mane 6- no, hardest to find among the WHOLE FREAKING FRANCHISE!
And guess what? It has only one apple as her cutie mark instead of three, and the freaking leaves are somehow red as well...
I'm off....
Türk bir fan bulmak güzel cidden
The fact that the whole series was originally INTENDED to ADVERTISE a toy line for hasbro makes this so ironic
3:48 I feel like the colours are like that because it was coloured after the season one Luna
They still made her purple instead of S1 Luna's blue because girly.
@@lautaroroldanpizzorno7494 that's true
I love how theres so much extensive lore but every five minutes you hear a name like "Seabiscuit Sunshine" or "Hip Hop Hoola Hoop" this show, even with its blemishes, is a masterpiece😂❤
0:21 GIRL😭😭😭😭
The blind bag Coconut Cream was released years before she appeared as a filly on FiM.
5:31 the only explanation I can think of why they put the word "dazzle"
everywhere, is if the toy line they were sold in was "The Dazzle Collection" or something but I really have no other guess 😂
If anyone of you guys know anything please let me know 🤣
0:19 it would honestly be very funny if Hasbro comes up with a background pony named "Red Dash" and looks exactly like this in future generations.
The Luna Ornament is based off her design in her first apperance. After that, it was changed to the one you now know today. There is multiple merch of both designs. I also ,sadly, own that Twilight ornament along with a PINK Celestia doll Which always confused me AND MY PARENTS.
I am in the middle of rewatching (for the 3rd time?) all of the seasons of MLP (season 6 currently) and I am also stuck in 2010
I started rewatching some old animation and stumbled on you in my recommendations.. and I am so happy I did!
Thanks for the video and here goes the subscription ~
3:25 those a couple ppl seeing this:👁️👄👁️
The Fluttershy ornament with Pinkie Pie's cutie mark might have been based on the episode they swapped cutie marks (same episode Twilight got wings and became a princess).
THAT CADENCE THING WILL BE IN MY NIGHTMARES 😭😭😭
5:55 dazzle can also mean to wow someone
Yeah, y'know how when something is so wonderful that you are stunned?
I absolutely did not expect you to go "I actually know a couple people who look like this." Couldn't help but laugh out loud lmao.
I had those figures as a kid, and I just accepted that they were repaints of the mane six. It’s cool to find out that they actually have names & characters in the show (horrible colour matching pushed aside).
I had the “yellow pinkie pie” and the Princess Luna ornaments when I was younger 😭
#AskEffAnything
1. What was the thought process of your pony oc's design?
2. Does your oc have any lore? (Like cutiemark, or any backstory)
Ive decided to start rewatching MLP after years of forgetting about it, today I finished the first season!!! Yay !!

Probably others asked it too, but my questions are:
- How and when did you became a brony?
- Who are your favorite characters, or just characters you find interesting, cool or underrated?
- Will you cover G5 topics or are you a strictly G4 guy?

"If you have bad opinions maybe fluttershy-"
Nope, that's it, I'm crying in the box of shame.
In the Season 3 finale, where everyone's cutie marks were mixed up and swapped, Fluttershy had Pinkie Pie's cutie mark, so maybe that christmas toy was referencing that
when u blurred out sunset shimmer, at the end, she looked like a middle finger
1:21 lol i actually thought that was rarity 😂 (I spelled rarity wrong 🤦♀️)
Same
I use to collect the McDonald’s Mlp toys(way back when twilight was still a unicorn) most of them looked fine, except Celestia.
I don't know how I reached this channel, so I guess your video has been blessed with the algorithm, but this was funnier than I expected, lol.

2:41 pretty sure that toy model of Coconut Cream is made from the same mold of Applejack based on the mane and tail shape and how the tail looks like it has a tie in it
I actually have most of those ornaments, and my family laughs at raritys lack of horn, and on her box it has pinky pie instead of rarity, every year!
Just watched murder drones at 9:30pm jeez people think that is scary, these THINGS are scarier
The flutter shy one it might be a reference to “What My Cutie Mark Is Telling Me”
0:27 Dude, I just picked up a set of these in Dollar General for $20.
3:49 i think this is based off that scene where luna was reformed in episode one and still kinda looked like a filly
yeah i remember that
4:02 TWILIGHT HAD GOTTEN TO INFECTION STAGE 5
I've always called Gusty, Canadian Pony.
The Luna ornament is explainable. That's her design from after she reverted from Nightmare Moon. There are quite a few Lunas like that.
that coconut cream figure came out way before fame and misfortune
They did sunset so dirty😭-
Like what the hell..
2:16
I think the reasoning why the character look so inconsistent is that the fact that the blind bag came before the character on the show.
3:46 this Luna figuring I'm pretty sure is based on the kid version of her.
If I remember correctly, the reasoning for why some of the toys inexplicably have different names is because you can't copyright names that are just real words, so they have on tack on a last name for the legal team.
Zero clue about Suri becoming "Buttonbelle", though.
THAT IS NOT PRINCESS CADANCE AND THAT IS NOT SUNSET SHIMMER 😭✋
I'M CRYING BECAUSE THEY MAKE THEM LOOK SCARY
What’s the story/meaning behind your username? #AskEffAnything also, (0:06) what did Flutters and Twi ever do to you? 💔

Ikr i love fluttershy 😭
The Fluttershy one is a flash back to the Cutie Mark Swap When Twilight had to help her friends remind her friends who they was. True True Friends is the song running in my head rent free 😢
Hair inaccuracies are what got me into custom painting. Acrylics and nail polish are fun to use on the mini-figures. Edit: It turns out that clear nail polish yellows over time. Acrylics and polyurethane satin varnish are fun to use on the mini-figures.
