You will hear no bad comments from me!
You have well and truly done this model kit justice so far.
In other words, who cares if your an “Armour” modeller, this work is fantastic and it is showing nicely!
    Keep up the awesome work.
    Kindest Regards and Respect,
    Ray Davis from Sydney Australia

Thank you Ray. You're too kind mate.
I do make a bit of a tongue in cheek comment or 2 about me being an armour modeller who is now building the worlds most iconic aircraft. Truth is, 40 years ago I started building WW2 aircraft. So I should call myself an aircraft modeller who builds armour 😀
I think I'm actually like most scam modellers. I have a specific expertise in one genre, but can turn those skills to other genres that interests me. But not cars. Those guys are weird 😀😀😀
Mate I'm planning on being at Illawarra next year so if you attend that event (it will be my first time there), look out for me. Would love to catch up and say hi.

@ Funny you should say “Those Car Builders are weird!” I’m going to build my first car model.
I’m mainly into Aircraft but am interested in other genres.
As for “Illawarra” I’m hoping to finally make that one.
I have attended their show once, as well as attending ScaleACT a few years ago. What an eye opening experience,
which made me feel a little inadequate when it came to my lack of skills.
But yes, hope to catch up at the Illawarra Show.

haha, well in that case Ray, best of luck with the car build mate.
Yeah, hopefully we can catch up next year. Don't be too worried about "lack of skills". Entering is a reward in itself if you aren't doing it just to win trophies. I find you can get excellent feedback from others and pick up a tip or two on the way. The social aspect is also a wonderful thing. No shame in entering Rookie or Standard Class. It's where we all began and not everyone wants to be a Master either. It's all about the fun of just making stuff. That's my thought anyway.

So glad to see someone actually bother to sit the pilot where he's supposed to be.

I actually spent ages reviewing video footage and some photos of WW1 pilots seated in their aircraft. I wanted this figure to be accurate to Richthofen and how he sat in his aircraft. Thanks for noticing 👍

Hi Stewart, you have made a fantastic start to this build, sadly I never got a WnW kit before the ceased manufacturing, but I will gladly watch your build of the Tri Plane, and we should never make fun of a arlour modeller who want to build aircraft, looking forward to the next update soon, best regards from a Kiwi living in Melbourne, Les

Thanks Les, I appreciate the feedback mate. The WnW pricing is ludicrous these days and I hope there's a way of having a future run of their kits for all the fans out there.

Wow, the cockpit looks like its own kit! I feel like I'm getting into my WWI fighter plane obsession, picking up 4 of them at Telford. This video will definitely serve as a lot of inspiration, and something to base my works on. Great work, and I can't wait to see the rest!

The cockpit can indeed be a lot of work if you want to super detail it. The base kit is very good and very accurate. But they do give you plenty of scope to really build a detailed subsection.

Great wok on what looks like a super fiddly model. One suggestion is to turn the music volume down a bit. Your voice get a bit lost competing with it

Hello Stewart, i hope the new year finds you well. I have a question in regards to the M113 a1, what colour was the interior walls and ceiling painted thought you might know seeing how you crewed this vehicle in your service. Regards Malcolm.

Thank you. Yeah I think it's a cool subject too. Don't worry though, I m still an armour modeller at heart. 😀

Did they fix the top wing? The kit I bought the top wing was slightly bowed - I heard you were supposed to put it on very hot water and bend it back. I sold it.

I think so. I do remember reading/hearing that it was the early run that had this issue, but was fixed by allowing the spur to sit longer in the cold after the plastic was injected. Mine seems ok

Too bad all the Meng 1/32 (not the 1/24) Dr.1's wings are warped beyond being usefull. You would have a nicer Dr.1 from the Roden kit.

    • @BlackHatScaleModels
      @BlackHatScaleModels  Месяц назад +1

I think that issue was restricted to the early run from Meng. Mine doesn't seem to have the warping issue

@@BlackHatScaleModels Are you sure? Those wings are supposed to be 100% straight.
