  • If you are going gray or completely gray Henna is a safe all natural alternative when done correctly.
    You can use colors that are similar to your natural hair color with added natural tints like coffee and different teas for highlights. For those of you who wish to try alternatives that are natural henna is the way to go, BUT do your research. There are a ton of fakes out there. I discovered how to do this from a friend in India many years ago. I attempted after doing the research :)

    Amazing coverage & beautiful color! :) I have been using Light Mountain henna for over 25 years and it covers my half grey hair very well. I use the Red and Bright Red shades to get natural red hair color.

    Great video...i have questions please.
    - What Henna package did you use exactly ( 2 step process).
    - How long did you leave in the Henna ?
    - How long did you leave in the Indigo?
    - Did you shampoo after each or just rinsed ?
    - Did it stain your floor or counter ? Very concerned about that as i live in a rented house with beautiful wooden floors.
    Wouod so appreciate your response. Thanks again for sharing this video.

      Hi great questions!
      - the Henna is by Light Mountain Natural - “Color the Gray” is what makes it the two step process bc the “color the gray” line is mostly used by people with a lot of gray in the hair. I’m going to do another video with just regular henna for regular hair at some point so folks can see the difference. :-)
      - the first step requires a leave in of about 35-45- (henna takes a while in the hair) but I highly recommend reading the instructions they are great anddd they tell you how long to check it to see if the color took and if not what to do.
      - the 2nd part has the color in it and that is the medium brown mixed w henna I was telling you about. The color to use is very much based on the color on the box it has a guide that says if your hair is this now your new color will be this - (hope that makes sense the instructions tell you how long)
      - great question about the floors and sinks - henna does stain. But it’s temporary- Put a towel on the floor - take your time, wear the gloves that come with it…and try to prevent splashes - if you see some on the counter top get it quickly with some warm soap and water - and it’ll be okay / the good thing is it eventually does come off - in the shower after rinsing just wash everything down after washing with a good scrub and should be fine. Let me know how it turns out. I don’t shampoo for about 48 hours after but some only wait 24 hours :-)

    Doesn't work well on me, lasted 1 week before the greys showed again!
    I have frizzy, thick 4c Afro hair and the dreaded hot roots! Best for hot roots and Afro grey hair is Afro black powder hair I-Can dye, the best moisturising hair dye is Schwarzkopf Live hair dye. Best hair dye for dry curly hair! Henna can be good for dry hair but I have tried Indigo powder, the dye didn't last! I have tried coffee, tea with henna but hot roots don't keep the dye colour!
    Best cheap solution is Black/ brown hair dye spray, hair mascara, hair dye wax pens and sometimes cheap black waterproof mascara!
    Level 3 black hair gel and Creme of Nature black Edges hair gel can cover grey roots fast!
    Keratin conditioner restores softness to 4c dry hair! Hope this helps! UK 🇬🇧 8.9.24

      The second step is the indigo bag w senna and it typically comes in the box for this one. If you are not using this brand the second step would be a mixture of indigo powder mixed w senna bit I’ve never mixed the two together before independently--

      Yes that’s very true you can darken it with other things like black coffee and or black tea and it will act as an enhancer to the grey. I’ll have to research that. 😉

    Would using chamomile tea add lighter tones? I am a dark blonde with a lot of gray coming at the front of my head. I don’t want to be reddish. 🙏

    • @CATryIt-jz4rc
      @CATryIt-jz4rc  3 месяца назад

      Absolutely! I would say for blonde highlights you can add nourishing chamomile (lemon juice is drying so please use lemon juice w caution) I wouldn’t use that but I totally would go with chamomile or a beautiful yellow pau d arco tea. Thanks for watching. Let me know what you go with!

      Hi thanks for watching. Yes step two pack is definitely henna powder and it’s mixed a bit more with the henna color listed on the box. Ex- indigo and henna (black).

    So if your head is fully gray this will cover?

    • @CATryIt-jz4rc
      @CATryIt-jz4rc  3 месяца назад +2

      I assume it will. I don’t have a full head of gray hair, but I am predominantly gray at the crown and it fully covers. I can do some research to see if it would cover, but I’m pretty sure it does. Stay tuned for my next video coming out in the next day or two. Thank you for watching and as always feel free to ask any questions.

      @@CATryIt-jz4rc People should be advised that the indigo is a blue color that is permanent and will not come out. If a person bleaches their hair later on to remove the henna, the gray will all end up very blue.

    What tea did you use for that gorgeous red hue?

    • @CATryIt-jz4rc
      @CATryIt-jz4rc  7 месяцев назад

      Hi thanks so much for watching. I’m sorry it took me a while to respond. Thanks for the compliment 😊 So a few things … the hue comes from using Tazo Passion Tea - it’s an infusion of hibiscus (the hue) orange peel and rose hips- all good for your hair anddd the color is super pink red. The thing is though my hair color for the henna mix is medium brown w indigo it may be a little different because indigo is so dark but I think it would still be beautiful.
