I ordered the hd9 dps cab . Should be here end of April. I believe it is the best machine for the money in this crazy price market we are in these days.
Nice review, I like the idea of testing a viewers ride, decked out as they want it. They bought a machine they needed. Money was an object, budget had to be followed, got the best vehicle they felt was right for them, and they seem happy with the purchase. Go back next year and see how its held up. See if they are still happy. Cheers
Just got the hd9xt a few weeks ago. She rides awesome. Night & day from the Kawasaki mule & Viking Yamaha we own. We like the Honda pioneer but the roll bar in the back made it not useful to us since we load corn feeders. The Can is real quiet which should help with hunting. No complaints so far. But time will tell…
Is it? I got a Yamaha Wolverine 850 and it has 69 HP but seems pretty underpowered. Yamaha likes to hold their wheelers back for some reason. I'm thinking of getting this one next year but not sure. It's already 10mph faster on paper.
@@jimh.412 I mostly use the machine for working around our property. Maybe 5% of the time is trail riding. So for my application, it’s a great fit. Now if I was more focused on trail riding, I’d have a Commander or General.
What’s your honest opinion on an HD7 vs HD9. I can get a 7 for 3k less. And I’m on 30 acres. Want it for around the property. Little hilly, dragging logs. Hauling wood. But would the HD7 be very adequate.???
Great Review Dirt Trax ...you guys seem to be one of the most knowledgeable about ATVs / side by sides out there....thank you .......I have a 50 acre farm and I need a new side by side for work and play ..I am about to purchase one....when comparing the Can am HD9 To the Polaris Ranger 1000 Premium the Can am seems to be a better choice for me at this price point ....( the Can am HD9 has larger wheels , the engine seems quieter , shifter seems smoother and I like that it is gated , the seats on the can am seems more comfortable ..the polaris Ranger 1000 premium seat back support seems more up right and after a few minutes are not that comfortable......what is your thoughts Dirt Trax on the comparision between the CAN AM HD9 and the Polaris Ranger 1000 Premium ... i want the stay in their price point ...thanks
It's the same engine as the 1000, just de-tuned. I get it, but I dont. Maybe, as a consumer, you can buy the 900 and save the upfromt cost, then tune later for less than the 1000 cost and have the same power.
Coming from a city slicker farmer that drive a few hay squares around let’s put this thing to work and see how it lasts long term brakes shock wear tires in wet heavy load conditions etc.
I love how every manufacturer of ATVs tries copying the Polaris design. Something I’ve noticed over the years is that they are all starting to look like Polaris lol.

Love the follow up idea 👍

Hey, which machine is quieter for driving noise at cruising speed? Your HD9, or your pioneer?
I picked up a XT HD9 a couple months ago. Great machine overall. 65hp is more than adequate for my use.

Luke did you ask if he looked at a CFMOTO? It does come loaded and I know you love that machine.

Personally a big fan of the Defender. Sounds like you like that machine too. My feeling is if you bought one you wouldn't regret it.
Great video guys!
How is it without power steering? I’ve never driven one without power steering and I’m debating on power steering or not getting power steering.
Would it be hard to bump up the HP ??

Come on by the farm and see what we do with our defender, we use it regularly.
the ONLY can am I'd own is the defender. id run them tires on a utv anyday
What would make those basic shocks different than the Commander XMR
Not sure they're much different apart from the XMR shocks being set stiffer out of the crate. These shocks are fairly cushy.

Not the rmax doggy
Can Am came out with this design in 2016. Polaris changed to their current body work in 2019. Maybe they are trying to look like a Can Am.
Nope,not buying it !
from chapter seventeen of "when city folks buy animals"....dude can afford a twenty thousand dollar toy....throws his Horse's hay in the mud.
