My family got a HD9 too. We call it the ‘Cadillac’. We driven the Yamaha Viking, Kawasaki mule, Polaris Ranger, Honda Pioneer…nothing compares to the Can Am. It’s super quiet too & we hunt a lot so that makes a difference to us.
Just bought a 2023 HD9 after looking at Honda, Polaris, and a CF Motto, decided on the Can Am defender. The ride is so much smoother. Hope its still working good for you.
Does that help a lot? I'm thinking about getting the HD9 DPS Cab but am skeptical because of the 65 HP. I have a 850 Yamaha Wolverine right now that has 69hp and I think that's underpowered but Yamaha likes to hold back on their engines.
Thanks for the review... Looked pretty easy to stear one handed and no power steering.... its 1500$ to have it added to the HD 7 - which is what im looking at.... Thanks again
Opa, excelente review!! Abraços do Brasil! 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇺🇸🤝👊🏼
Honestly not much at all! Really the only vibration I would describe would be from the tire tread when driving fast on asphalt. Other than that it’s really smooth!
Hey great video thanks I've been looking for a good review. I have a question. under the front hood, you point out where the winch solenoid is and point to where the battery is. Well under that cover its really just 2 battery terminals + and - run from the battery. when they hooked up your winch did they run the + and - from your winch solenoid to those terminals. Thanks seems to be the easiest way to hook the power up for the winch just not sure if thats the correct way. So i'm wondering if thats the way yours is done. Thanks
S Arenburg thanks! The winch is in fact running to those front terminals. Seems pretty effective. No problems yet and I’ve been plowing snow and straightening up The gravel driveway quite a bit here lately.
Great video! I have the 2022 Can-Am HD9 Defender Max DPS for six people and love it. Question, I've not been able to get mine to go over 20 mph. Is there a special setting that regulates the speed? Thanks for making the video!
Yeah that’s the issue we were having. I was actually looking at an MX Mule but couldn’t find any in stock. Really wasn’t looking at Can-Am because I figured it was gonna be out of our price range. But they had this one on the lot and after running the numbers it was just a little more, so we jumped. Really glad we did! Still loving this thing.
Hey Brody, thanks for watching. Yeah I’m aware they make that full cab model. I wasn’t looking for a full cab. I’ve now got a windshield and am getting a roof here soon. Other than that I’m not looking to add any more enclosure.
@@julianfiacconi709How is the power with only 65 HP? Have you looked into a tune or anything? Do they really wake it up do you know? I'm a Yamaha guy but am looking at the DPS Cab model for the heat since I live in Minnesota.
@@jimh.412 I don't know how much more power you would need to want to go faster than 65mph. i can tell you that the 65hp allows you to accelerate uphill at 30-40-50 mph no problem with two 200 lbs adults and probably 100lbs of camping gear in the bed. Surely, by the numbers, the HD10 Limited with 82hp will accelerate a bit faster, however I'm not sure you'd notice, as the Limited I beleive is about 200 lbs heavier. I'm in the northern climes of Canada, so the heat is important. No intentions of tuning it, wouldn't want to void the extended warranty. I highly recommend the OEM snorkel kit, hydro-lock would be an expensive repair. The cab will be a savior in blackfly mosquito season, and comfortable in the cool shoulder seasons, for summer heat, just crack open the front windshield and side windows, should keep you cool and comfortable.

Nice!! I’m still loving ours! No issues at all
The hd9 and hd10 both have same cc. They’re just tuned different… keep eyes out for tunes to come out to wake up the hd9

Both the hd9 and hd10 are the same size engine. 976cc. The hd9 is not a "900".
Thanks for this great review! 👍

Nice review
If you get in a tight spot power steering is nice to have
Great Video. Question...How much of the vibration do you feel when driving it around?
Honestly not much at all! Really the only vibration I would describe would be from the tire tread when driving fast on asphalt. Other than that it’s really smooth!
Killer review! I’m sold!
Now that you've had some time with it what's your take. Thanks Shane
Shane we still love this thing! Fires up every time, no issues at all!
Awesome video!
Thanks!
Great video we just ordered ours Friday.
You’ll love it!

driver seatbelt must be latched
That’s what I was going to suggest. My assumption is that it’s maybe the seatbelt wasn’t latched? The throttle is governed if the belt isn’t buckled.
I Just got my defender hd9 dps, 2022 and It doesnt hace a parking brake,
great video! We are hoping to buy one soon! (if they ever come in stock around us)

We have one they r sooo smooth
Nice review. I’ve been looking at Deere’s. This seems much nicer.
You do know they have a HD9 DPS model that’s full cab. I have one in order

We got our DPS CAB a week ago. Simply amazing, so comfortable and quiet. Saw 65mph and more to go, but more than enough.

There a seven grease fittings in back for each tire
Are you interested in product testing? We'd like to invite you to test the UTV cover.
Great info. Great stache.
Such a helpful video! I’m also in southeast Ohio!
It’s a beautiful place isn’t it, Tommy ☺️
How does the engine braking downhill perform? Thanks
I use low gear when going down hill so I don’t have to ride the break, and it works great! I can go down hill without stepping foot on my break.
It’s the same exact motor as the HD10. Just detuned
The 1000 has a bigger bore.. so, not exactly
Nvm you’re exactly right
Same bore and stroke, just different valve sizes.
what kind of top speed do you get out of it?
I got it up in the 50’s one time and that was fast enough, ha
Next time, forget the t-shirt.
K J - Some channels use that approach to get views. This guy seems more legit than that.
