After watching your original review of this machine you inspired me to buy my first ever sxs a '21 Defender limited in blue. I use it for everything from plowing snow to spraying and mapping field boundaries. I can't believe I haven't had one this entire time! Anyway just wanted to say thank you for making these videos and I wish Can Am could give you commission because you definitely sold one to this guy.
Justin I’ve had a terrible day and I’m feeling very depressed, I can’t thank you enough for making me smile as happiness to you and guiding someone to a great machine and sport. I’m humbled by you. May God shine on you and your machine 🙂
Great review. I’m own a 2021 defender xmr max that I bought last November. I believe it was $26k cash price out the door I paid after taxes and title and fees here in Texas but anyways i have to agree with you. Having the xmr model it didn’t come with doors a roof or windshield. I feel like for any model of any brand with a msrp of over $22k they should come with doors and a roof at the very minimum or even a sound system. I specifically wanted the xmr for the snorkels, lower gearing, the winch location and it just fit my needs. I didn’t want a limited since I knew it was gonna go to mud parks and I didn’t see a limited doing well in mud holes lol. But other than having to spend another few grand to add doors a roof and a windshield it hasn’t gave me a single issue. I love absolutely everything about it and definitely haven’t babied it much. I remember debating between a ranger and defender and definitely happy I chose the defender. Reviews like yours that really pick at the smaller things I feel like are very helpful. There are many people that look up to these reviews to help them make a pretty big decision.
I am also an owner of a 2020 Defender Limited with over 3000 miles and about 230 hours. Almost no issues here. The only issue I have had is sometimes the engine sputters a little. Not a common thing and usually only happens before it warms up. Although one time last year during hunting season, I was driving around in the morning going about 10-15 MPH out in the wild and suddenly the engine starting sputtering badly, the throttle stopped responding, and a loud beep noise came on. A message on the display said something about an engine problem detected and limp mode was activated. I turned the machine off and waited a few minutes. I inspected the engine for anything I could see, but everything looked fine. When I turned the key, the engine started up normally and went through the rest of the day and the next 2 weeks of the season running just fine. I took it to a dealer about 2 weeks later and they did some scans that said a spark plug failed to fire on one of the cylinders. The mechanic pulled the plugs and said they looked fine, so he did not replace them. I haven't had this issue since then after a lot of driving throughout the year, over a thousand miles and a hundred hours later. Overall I really like my machine, handles 30 inch mud tires just fine, with stock suspension and I have custom installed a sound system I pieced together myself. I could not find a complete system for a defender limited besides Can Am's own Defender sound system which is crazy expensive in my opinion. I went with a Rockford Fosgate PMX-3 in the center headliner with Boss Audio 6.5" Marine speakers in the speaker cutouts (Just barely fits) and Rockford Fosgate Punch 8" self powered subwoofer under the driver's seat and a cheap rear view camera from Amazon all for less than Can Am's system.
Your engine issue is very similar to mine...spark plug ignition related, Agree with the you on the cost of the sound system, seems like you did a great job with your stereo. Thank you for sharing your issues...makes me feel I'm not alone. Ride in peace please.
@@maraudermitchelli I wonder if that's a 2020 HD10 thing. Anyway, I wanted to ask how you wired the front bumper light bar into the cab? I have been trying to find where to run wires from the front under hood area to the dash switch panel without cutting or drilling any holes.
