I’ve shown this video as well as others to an avid guitar player. He scoffed at the idea of the 8 string. Said it was for “death metal players.” Showed him other videos of how the 8 string from OP is a wider opening to good things with sound. Came in one morning to him wailing away, but it sounded different, and he had pauses. 😁 Dude bought an 8 string and was breaking it it.
This is great! I noticed that you have wonderful composition on your 8. Its awesome to see you making good use of the fret board especially the F# if i didnt watch this video i wouldn't know if there was a place for 8 strings outside of music catered especially to djent. You're one of the few people I've listened to play an 8 string that I've actually enjoyed. A lot of people just use the top string and play the first 6-8 frets and it sounds obnoxious and repetitive in my opinion. But you did much more than that and it sounded very pleasant.

Tony Necas I regularly struggle to get a bass tone I'm happy with, but at the minute I use Toontracks EZ Mix Guitar Gods pack for my bass tones. I record the DI, duplicate it and add EZ Mix too each track, using the Fredrik Clean preset for my low tones and the Koloss Hi preset for the distorted tone :)
Pete Cottrell I can tell you as a bassist I envy your tone. You make that j bass scream. I have idea what any of those things you said are but my bands producer will be hearing this track.

I use the Metal Guitar Gods expansion pack for the heavier tones, it has presets designed by Meshuggah, Misha Mansoor, Devin Townsend and Mattias IA Eklundh :)
