    This is the first song I wrote in 2014, and if I'm honest it was a real struggle from day 1. But here it is finished and out there for all you guys and gals to see and here. I'm pretty pleased with the drum and bass tones as well as the colour grade :) Anyway, enjoy!!!

    favorite song of yours, the clean tapping section mixed with the heavy rythm part is just perfection. This is very inspiring, would you consider doing a video about songwriting? Unless you have already, I'm new here :)

    I've had that first riff lodged in my head for years and today it finally dawned on me that it was you! Lovely work, your originals really got me to enjoy extended range guitar music more all those years ago.

    Amazing! Your style and sound embody EVERYTHING I love in music. Legendary riffing. If I had half your talent when I played, I would never have given it up. You are officially my favorite channel, and certainly the best 7, 8, and 9 stringer I have ever seen. And you're not a total dick. Keep on shredding brother!!!

    Do you program all the other instruments or are you in a band?
    I'm having trouble finding people to make a band with and have decided to just record myself playing and program the rest or hire people to play the other instruments. I guess what I'm trying to get to is how do you go about making these videos? What equipment do you use?

    • @peteplaysmusic
      @peteplaysmusic  10 лет назад +10

      Matthew Farmer Thanks! All the drums are programmed using Superior Drummer 2 and The Metal Foundry SDX. The rest is all played by me. I use Cubase 6 to record and mix and Adobe Premiere Pro CC and After Effects CC to edit the video. The camera I use is a Canon 60D :)

      ChristianIce Thanks, The verse and the chorus both use the open 8th string. I only used the full range if I thought it sounded good. It's pretty easy to riff on the open F and have every song in the same key so I tried something different :)

      Pete Cottrell many thanks to you!
      i have learned SO much from your songs, one of my favourite guitarists is andy james and i love his style of soloing, but i have always struggled with rythm writing, and i have noticed some of the things you play may be simple, but how you do them... just sounds so good, and i am trying to get the hang of making simple things awesome (not that everything you play is simple, i just love those parts). so thank YOU :)

    • @peteplaysmusic
      @peteplaysmusic  10 лет назад

      LongLive Tremonti I like simple stuff. I like playing fast and technical but sometimes a song doesn't need that. This song I tried to use more chord based stuff and to avoid chugging on the open strings. Learning old school Metallica tunes always helps with rhythm, Always! So that would be my tip for that. Thanks again and Andy James is Wicked!!! :)
