Glad to see my favorite RUclipsr back on his feet! Restore the Porsche mechanically, you got the skills to pull that off. Than either use that Allegro or source a better 924 shell.
Thank you Lukas!! I'll see if I can get it running on its own fuel system, but I just checked the brakes and clutch and I've got neither at the moment 🤦 thank you I appreciate it 🙏
Fuel pump relays are not available at the moment and tricky to find. You can bridge the terminals to do a temp bodge. You don’t need the intank pump, the main pump is sufficient. Replace intank pump with a 944 in tank filter.
Yea I've never had one that's still using the in tank pump, need to see what the condition of the tank is first l, I've had some really bad ones in the past! Thanks
Great to see you back on your feet mate 👍🏻. Brilliant work to get it going sounds great. Allegro swap sounds very interesting 😮. Jeremy Vine nooooooooooo 😂
As someone who fully restored a 924: If it doesn´t run its most likely the K jetronic, i would personally take the parts out of one and use it in another. The body can easily be helped to be a track car, especially since alot of audi engines from that time fit into it.
From my observations here mate. Use the gold one for parts to fix the red one up. The gold one is probably too far gone for a comeback. The red one looks better nick in my opinion.
Thanks 👍, got it from auction for £600 apparently the couldn't open the doors so no pictures of whether it had a full interior or not. Lucky it does and a bonus it's only got 60,000 miles 👌
Yes your right luckily I have a spare okay set of injectors on the shelf, they opened a little with the pump but not enough, like you said I need the proper high pressure pump
@@cashmachinecars It'll be a lot of work and a good learning curve doing a body swap. What's the worst that could happen, they both end up parts cars. Go for it!
First few minutes.... "that will be a rotten fuse box and knackered earth rose under the dash" and yep, it was. I replaced mine with a Golf fuse box, they are identical. Would like to know where he gets these cheap motors from?
Unfortunately, I think this car would need a total restoration, probably cost about £45K (depending if you subbed out the work or did it yourself) and then you would have a very nice car worth about £8K. I know this because I have already be down the same road with a Porsche 928. Bought it for £6500, spent £30K restoring it, sold it for £42K. (and that one was in good condition to begin with! ) - not like your example.
A rewire would probably easily cost over £800 - £1000 just to get the that fuse box functional. The roof same again and sum change unless you can do the work yourself plus all the damage to the floor that's been done with the leak. I'd sell it on just using the parts you can salvage from it for the other one it looks like a money pit interesting project though great video.
Don't be the typical RUclipsr. They bite off more than they can chew. They talk a good one. They don't finish projects. Move onto others. They hoard. Slow paced. No end in sight. Get rid of this car ASAP. Content purposes okay. Realize just how much amount of work is needed.
I agree. This car was always only ever bought to be a parts car, My main aim is to get cars running and driving and back on the road again if possible, not so much concourse restorations. thank you
Really impressed how easy you diagnosed that throughout all the rust & still got it running.👍👍🙏🇬🇧

Thanks chris
Good to see you back. What ever it is you're thinking of doing it's a good idea!! 😁👍👋
Worse thing about that car was Jeremy Vine
🤣🤣
Great video and glad you are on your feet again😀
Thanks! 😊

Haha thanks John, would be good to give the Allegro a new lease of life!!
Glad you are getting up and about.
Take care of the ankle mate.
Thank you! 👍
Good video mate I have a red 924
Been a project but it’s great fun ,,,, good luck 🤞
Love it , subscribed, love a poor man's Porsche.
the wheels look great on the golden one! but probably not worth saving that one

Porsche Allegro sounds quality 🤘🏻

Thanks I agree even if I sorted the rust on the gold one, the electrics are shot and I hate electrics 🤣
My 1980 924 turbo valves hit the pistons on first start. I used the existing old stretched belt.
Glad to see you back, albeit with boot, but whats the story with the square light T25?
Thanks 👍, got it from auction for £600 apparently the couldn't open the doors so no pictures of whether it had a full interior or not. Lucky it does and a bonus it's only got 60,000 miles 👌
@@cashmachinecars wow what a bargain, the front lights alone are £300 if original VW square lights
Just had the same issue 😅
for a young pup ,,i love how yr mind thinks
K-jet injectors opens with pressure from the high pressure fuelpump, that pump you tested with could probably never do it.
Yes your right luckily I have a spare okay set of injectors on the shelf, they opened a little with the pump but not enough, like you said I need the proper high pressure pump
Getting to quite like these Porsches , hope youre doing a vid on the t25.
Thank you! Yes I am it'll be out soon just putting a new exhaust on it at the moment. bought it unseen for peanuts and its surprisingly good!! 👀
@@cashmachinecars i do like a T25 !
Leave the JPS Allegro alone Harry!
It's not in a good way Craig, it needs a new lease of life 👀
😢@@cashmachinecars
Scrap it and save the mechanicals glass and wheels. Plenty of spare parts for the other one.
Whatever you were thinking about with a possible Allegro/924 combo, definitely do that!
Haha would be interesting 👀
Dedication to the cause there: filming one-handed, on one leg.
🤣🤣
Body swap cool, but which way round !!
To be honest the Allegro is much more structurally sound than the Porsche unbelievably

I agree! I love a 928 had one a while back, great cars! Good parts car for me and can sell the leftovers 👍
What do you do with these old motors, love your videos thou
Porsche powered Allegro.... Yes please
Sort it out, it’s not that bad
have you still got the JPS Allegro ....is it for sale ?
Restore it. It will be a challenge but worth it
The red one I think I'll restore, think the gold one might be a bit of a challenge 🤣
@cashmachinecars it's a shame about the sunroof on the gold one. Fist dibs when you go to sell it ✌️
Looks like it had an MOT in 2007!
if it starts it doesn't matter its scrap

Nice idea a rebody or a restomod a porker power al agro😅😅
Don't ruin the allegro.i would love it.
If you were nearer to me and I’d have bought it from you.
Pallegro?
Love it!
It’s a spares car unfortunately
Agree
Allegrorsche
Love it! 👌
SCRAP it Matey! Zzzz
"your comment was removed" why? if i'm not meant to talk about my own project as it relates to your video then i guess that's super lame :C
Doner car at best! Hardly economical to restore.
Parts car for a nice 924. She is done
