I wear mine into the shower and wash with shampoo and hang on the shower head to dry, come morning it is dry and ready to wear! Looks new every time!!!

I gotta say, I wanted to hate on this hat so I’d have a reason to regret paying 2-3x the amount I usually get a hat for but this brand is straight QUALITY! Most black hats, I have to chuck them after a month cus they fade out from a couple washes. I still have my Melin A Game hat since July of last year running it through so many washes yet it still comes out fresh and bold. 👌🏽 The only hat I ever truly need for everything.

@@nai1817 Tried machine washing with a hat accessory but it doesn’t clean it as well. I recommend hand washing and air dry it.

I own too many of these hats! I love the brand and their focus on the details. The ROI on these hats becomes evident over time since they clean up so well. Picked up the new A-Game MSLX Hydro with non-adjustable flex fitting hat from the flagship store in Laguna Beach. I also have the Odessey and they both fit great. However, the new MSLX is a game changer. Has a wider bill than the standard A-Game Hydro and a new sweat diverter built into the headband at the front. Diverts sweat to the sides verses down into your face. Absolute perfect fit and feel. Not too tight or loose, they should have called it the "A-Game Changer". Needless to say, the quality of the hat is above all hat standards. Not available online as these hats are in Beta, only available in Laguna Beach.

I have 6 melin hats - the ones I use for running get sweat lines around the visor which I can't seem to get off with just gentle washing.. I made the mistake once of throwing one in the washer which ruined it - unfortunately.. Luckily Melin stepped up and replaced it when I emaild them a picture! so gotta give em that.

How often do we have to wash it? I wear it at the gym 5 times a week. So there’s definitely sweat build up in it
Why do you have to wait for it to fully dry before putting it back on? I washed mine off best I could in a hotel sink (hadn’t seen this video yet) but I put mine back on while it was still wet after a super hot day outside all day. Felt good & seems to be fine now that it is truly dry. Just curious if there’s a reason you say don’t put it back on until it’s dry.
How do you prevent the water stains while drying

Hey! This could be a stupid question but I may have used too much soap, should I rinse it again? The soap smell is lingering and with my luck it’ll sweat into my eyes 🤣 appreciate it if you see this !
The warning mentioned that it'll stop beading the water on the hat. Can I spray the hat with some kind of water repellent to get it exactly like new?
That's most likely what they do with the hat from the factory anyways.
We do use a PFC free DWR treatment in our products and will offer a bottled version for you to recondition/apply shortly. In the interim I will get with our product team to look for a solution and keep you posted here.

I thought the main reason to buying a $70 hat that repells water was because it was waterproof, now you're saying that's not the case? Aw man I'm already losing interest in this hat.
My hat isn't dirty so much as it has developed a sweat odor, what do you recommend for that?
Same for me. Wash it like he does and smell goes away. Once it happens again, rinse and repeat.
@@jasonw5556 I've contacted Melin's customer support about this. Washing in the sink with medium temp water does not work. I add oxidizer to the bowl with soap and let the hat soak. DO NOT put it in the dishwasher or the clothes washer, both will destroy the hat in one way or another.👍
I have a small subtle black stain on one of my favorite ones from someone stepping on it. I tried washing it out a handful of times like this video and it wont budge, any ideas?

i have a fair amount of sweat stains all around the lining. have followed these directions but doesn't seem to help. any suggestions?
Same here. I have a gray Hydro A-game hat, it is sweat stained and have tried hand washing multiple times with different soaps.
Nothing works.
No different than my cheap hats unfortunately. If you find out, comment on here so I can try before I throw it out.
What is your policy when washing the hat won’t clean sweat stains? I’ve tried multiple soaps and can not get rid of the sweat marks. Very disappointed in this since I bought it to be able to wash it, especially for $70

What was the result to contacting customer service? I haven't bought one yet but researching since they are so freaking expensive. I don't mind paying for quality but it better do what the claims say.
@@jrossnjax they actually were perfectly helpful and responsive. A new hat shipped to me yesterday. They were even kind enough to offer me a change to any style, size, or color I wanted. I have the heather charcoal and love the color before it became darkened from sweat and oils. I opted to stick with the same combo. But for certain I will be sticking with Melin in the future.
I do Lawn and Landscape work tried using some dawn and water and didn't come clean at all. Has anyone tried leaving it in some Simple Green overnight? That is how I usually have to wash my work shoes/hats.
Pro-tip - just wear it in the shower. Body wash and loofa 🤙🏼

Nope please just use a soft hand soap like Dial
YES! These hats do fade just like all other hats. No magic material. I have 4 and they all fade from normal wear and washings.
One comment says no they don't fade and another says yes they do fade... which is it? If this hat cost almost $80 and it doesnt repell water (except when new) and it fades like all others do then why are we buying hats that are 3x more?

I’ve had this hat for about 2 months. There are sweat stains that won’t come out with this method, baking soda and vinegar either. Anyone have any suggestions?

I so love these hats… I was fkn tired of destroying expensive ball cap hats by simply washing them. FFS. So much wasted money. I asked myself years & years ago why someone didn’t make a washable,e hate.
Of course the answer was-profiteering.
